I agree with all of this, Erick. Spot on!

I pray for Mr. Trump, for his safety, and for wisdom. My hope is for him to be focused on the issues and on how he will lead to make America great again.

This country needs someone to fight for us, that we can look up to with respect and gratitude, and Mr. Trump needs a lot more voters to vote for him than just the die hard Trumpsters.

Pease Mr. Trump, don't forget about us out here. Don't get distracted, listen to wise council, you have the right plan, Kamala does not, and we need you!

Mr. Erickson, your counsel is wise.

BUT, then, there is Proverbs 12:15:

"The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice."

Guess which guy we're stuck with.

And we all know he will NOT listen. Even when self-discipline is in his own best interest, he cannot or will not control himself. It's why I'm beginning to conclude that it's alright if he loses because winning would just be four more years of him following the "shiny thing" du jour rather than doing important, lasting things like building a fence!

One thing with being a "history nut" is that comparisons keep coming up in my mind. Back about the turn of the (last) century, the Democrats had a politician named William Jennings Bryan. He was the "darling" of the party and could give a heckuva good speech. He was the Demos' "heartthrob" (are you starting to think of a person like that for the Republicans today??) He connected with them emotionally and said the things they wanted to say. It's just the rest of the country wasn't thrilled.

There was only one problem - William Jennings Bryan, who was nominated for president in 1896, 1900 and 1908, was a lousy politician and lost, often by big majorities, all three times. But the Democrats, as I said, had an emotional tie with him and kept nominating him. Sound familiar? 🙂

Of course, you can't compare the two too much - Bryan, for being a bad politician, had a very good personal life and was a committed Christian.

Great letter, Erick. You hear us, your readers. Let us hope and pray Mr. Trump, his staff, and GOP staffers everywhere read this letter, agree, and respond with change.

Still praying.

I thought he was terrible at the debate. His problem is that he's undisciplined and not coachable -- too concerned with crowd sizes. I can't believe his debate handlers wanted to bring up the bizarre charges about Haitians eating dogs and cats for example. I think the GOP is better off losing the presidency, especially if we can retake the Senate. Although she did well, she won't wear well. She'll be a one-termer. Hopefully, GOP voters will exert more discernment next time.

I see the Pope is trying to guide Catholics in their choice for President. Personally I wouldn’t listen to him.You can see the article in UK daily

Let me take a completely different tack on this. I wasn't a Trump supporter and reluctantly voted for him the first time and the second time. All that being said, let us all remember - especially Erick - that Donald Trump is a human being created in God's image. I will be 70 years old in the near future and I can't imagine what he has gone through these past 8 years since he decided to run for President, then as President and now running again for President at 77 years old.

As a billionaire he could have stayed home and enjoyed the last years of his life - playing golf, traveling and doing whatever billionaires do. Instead, he has decided to run for President. Now I'm sure some of it has to do with his ego (anyone running for President has to have a large ego, but I have become convinced that he is probably not a Christian, but he is an American patriot.

Just to remind everyone, he has been lied about, slandered and the Federal government itself was actively sabotaging him before and after he was in office (please read the Durham report). The forces of the well-entrenched elite here in Washington and around the country have been attempting to take him off the ballots in several states, attempting to bankrupt him and to throw him into jail. And he came a whisker from having his head blown off by the failings of an incompetent Secret Service. I have never been shot at - even during combat in the Army - but I'm sure it has a profound effect on him. He may even wonder if they will really keep him safe.

And while I agree with some of the advice he is being given, those of us who are Christians, should be first and foremost praying for him - because again, at the end of the day - he is a human being created in God's image.

Thanks for reminding us of these facts. While very true we still need him to get out of his way, move forward, and win this election!

Dear Donald Trump,

I watched the debate the other day, and the deeper we got, the more apparent it became that you were in serious danger of disappearing up your own arse. Time and time again, you took the bait, got distracted, and lost the thread. I feel the need to remind you that you’re not running *for* president; you’re running *from* prison time. Please campaign accordingly. And please, stop surrounding yourself with dummies—Laura Loomer is an idiot. “Our pets are in danger!” is not a winning message, sir.
