Do you know how the Republicans can totally screw this up, Erick? By demanding, as some in the pro-life community are now doing, that a nationwide ban on all abortions be imposed. The Supreme Court correctly ruled that the existing Federal policy on abortion violated the principles of federalism and the 10th Amendment. A nationwide abortion ban would do so as well. I would be every bit as opposed to such an action as I was to the issue settled in the Dobbs decision.

It's time for conservatives to realize that just as is the case in so many other things, federalism cuts both ways, and that a Federal mandate of which thgey approve is no less wrong than one of which they do not approve.

It's amazing how many people completely misunderstand this decision and can only respond on a visceral and emotional level.

I was a party to an abortion with a woman I loved shortly after both of us were divorced. This was over 30 years ago. I don't need to elaborate but it was complicated. We saw this as the rational decision to the turmoil that we lived in at that point in time as we had children already from those marriages. While we are no longer together, both of us have regretted that decision as we contemplate the life that could have and should have been, and that child and subsequent grandchildren that will never be. I have not forgiven myself but I hope that God has.

I do not want to keep laboring on this point but I would give anything to have my son, whom I aborted 40 years ago. Do not pity me or feel sorry for me or any of those platitudes. I have spent a lifetime doing that to myself. All is well and we shall meet again. I will spend the rest of my days in contemplation over this. To those who think I need to forgive myself, I already have.

companies would rather make a one-time payment for abortion than support a woman with kids, extra insurance, time off, etc., saves them alot of money in the long run

Well-stated…the violence, hatred and intolerance displayed by the progressive left will increasingly leave them isolated and distanced.

As Dobbs edged closer to reality, I was stunned at the sheer brutality displayed by the pro-choice camp and their willingness to embrace "abortion" even after the baby was out of the womb. If this is the face of women's rights then Josef Mengele should be their patron saint. Truly, truly terrible people.

Yes, I had the same sad thought.

The real question as i see it. Why is Abortion so popular ? Sex without consequences? Crimes of sex not being reported? Sex for money consequences? No moral standards ? Why?

I have sworn off Facebook for the next few weeks while my rich, white, liberal friends finish "sharing" the stories of women who just had to have an abortion and the pictures of women in Handsmaid Tale outfits (I've never seen the show or read the book, so don't honestly know how that relates to this issue but somehow it must). (Side note - most of these women had just gotten back into my good graces after the last 4 years of trashing Trump!). I would be swayed more by the "courage of their convictions" if I knew they had been actively trying to help those women who supposedly will be disproportionately impacted by this decision - that is, women of color. What I think they are really worried about are their own daughters and how inconvenient an unplanned pregnancy would be for them. It disgusts me that their first thought/desire is for their daughter to abort the baby rather than consider any other alternatives.

Is anyone else at all concerned that some of the million ne Republicans are simply liberals planning to skew Republican primaries toward candidates they think can't win the general election?

"Rich, white, secular people now at the core of the Democratic Party are exactly opposite those things. They view the pro-life side as unpopular in culture and personally disdain it."

Two things come to mind

1) Harder for camel to go thru eye of needle than wealthy to enter the Kingdom of God - a lack of real need on this earth also tends to distract from our desperate need for a savior at the end of this life. Makes it easier to keep the entire process theoretical/philosophical rather than the reality of burned, poisoned, butchered babies. That's also why the pro-aborts have to keep the language clinical - faced with reality, people make different decisions than PP offrs.

2) Disdaining pro-life is, at the very least, sub-conscious alignment with Margaret Sanger - it is there to weed out the "undesirables". Yes, it is contingency plan to avoid consequence, yet the pro-aborts really don't like it when pro-life points out the majority of death factories are geographically urban, near the poor, for quick access - the "undesirables". That's the worst kind of "lynching" - killing the innocent in the womb!

The progressives want to keep talking about this? Fine, let's do that. Let's make sure the GOP voters understand that the Left is looking to elect people who will eschew the Constitution and ignore it by reinstating abortion at a Federal level. Let's make sure all the voters understand that if they don't elect pro-life Republicans, killing children will be enshrined in America at a Federal level. You want to keep talking about it Democrats? I don't think this will end the way you want it to end.

The decision brings to the forefront what is the real discussion point. Does Human Life have any value? If so where does that value come from and when does it start?

While I know it is from the Declaration of Independence which we are getting ready to celebrate again on July 4th...We find these things self evident that all men are CREATED equal...

If we are simply a biological accident, and we are just an intelligent animal (with intelligent often suspect), simply an advanced ameba then where is the argument that any human has an intrinsic value? If we have advance to the point that we say the framers of the Declaration were ignorant of the advances of science...then their entire basis for fighting, and the entire basis for the Constitution is also false.

But if they were right...where did it come from? Formed from the dust of the earth and God "breathed" into that pile of dust and man became a "living" being.

The battle for the Soul Of Man has been going on since the beginning. Now the real raging war will become more visible as the value of Man and where it comes from becomes the focus. May the Lord grant us the wisdom to articulate the truth in such a way that many are still drawn to the truth. Thanks Charles

I have family in Utah. Before this decision I was ask what the benefit to society is to make abortion illegal. Never mind that is not what overturning Row v. Wade would do at a Federal level.

I made the mistake of trying to answer the question.

No, the correct response is, you are the culture warrior, not me. You explain why and the benefits of abortion to society.

The conflation, misdirection, and lies about what just happened are stunning to watch in real time, the visibility of social media and the internet.

This is no more difficult than understanding abortion is not, never was a Constitutional right. A Constructional right was not taken away, it was affirmed that it neve existed.

The conservative majority opinion provides an easy to read and understand legal basis for the decision, no emotional or moral agreement.

The liberal opinion is an emotional plea. Odd, the left is actually trying to make a moral case, something they argued a catholic justice would do.

Now they can do what Republicans have been doing for 50 years, go explain to their stat representatives their case. Arguably a far easier task at the state level, than the Federal. But they never did make the arrangement to the legislative branch, they hopscotched over to the judiciary.

The answer to stop the MURDER of thousands of God made little children. I just read where more than 900,000 children were MURDERED that way in 2021.

That is a religious and subjective argument.

It has been said the Tobacco industry is owed a debt of gratitude for keeping social security solvent, all those smokers paying in and never collecting.

The counter to your argument I have heard the most is, abortion prevents unwanted children who become criminals and otherwise require public assistance.

If that is your only answer states will be flip flopping on illegal vs legal vs when it's legal based on the makeup of the legislature and Governor.

Over turning Row v. Wade was a no brainer and ensured SCOTUS will never hear the case again.

Maybe at the state level it doesn't matter. There will always be private entities and corporations that will pay for travel and expenses.

I in Georgia don't care what New York does. Perhaps the liberal locusts will attempt to migrate around and flip conservative states. I am sure there are conservative contemplating the same maneuver.

I am satisfied with the new status quo.
