NBC... College costs keep snowballing despite Biden’s efforts to ease student debt burden.

Only in the mind of a liberal does this headline make sense.

NBC reporting on the flood...

The rainfall continues and threatens to flood the world despite the best efforts of man to be wicked.

They misspelled "because".

This is liberals funding liberal indoctrination with tax payer dollars. If colleges were conservative this wouldn't be happening.

Well-written Erick.

That last paragraph is particularly poignant, although I would like to add one thing to it:

"You must surrender your gas stove for an electric one, even though the high-end restaurants frequented by the progressive elite will be exempt".

Re: "Democrats claim the GOP is the authoritarian party while trying to keep the GOP’s preferred presidential candidate off ballots in multiple states through non-democratic means".

This is right out of the Saul Alinsky playbook: "Accuse others of doing what you yourself are doing".

If a degree is obtained with assistance from a federal student loan, it should be able to generate sufficient revenue to repay that loan. If not, its not the responsibility of the taxpayers to take responsibility for their poor decisions.

I got through 4 years by working in the cafeteria for $.75 per hour, and working 2 and sometimes 3 jobs in summers - not smart enough for scholarships. Zero debt. And zero debt today, 60 years later.

Truth, Erick. Excellent piece.

Erick, What options do we have when Biden and the Biden Admin fail to obey an order/ruling from the SCOTUS? Even if they were to find him in contempt, isn't it up to his DOJ to act on that ruling? They're certainly not going to arrest Biden, and they wouldn't act against any of the flunkies in the government that enact the policies.

We're screwed.

That, Sir needs to be in absolutely every republican campaign ad.

“and the feds will put you on list somewhere to watch you”. Listened to that interview I wrote about yesterday. The guy painted quite a picture of free speech squashing. He said they have redefined democracy and it doesn’t include free speech to those with wrong-think. We have to win the presidency and get majorities in congress to roto-rooter these self-appointed ‘betters’ to new employment as talking heads on MSNBC. Will you peer down this rabbit hole?

The SALT tax deduction cap was one of the most progressive additions to the tax code in recent history, along with limits to mortgage interest deductions for expensive and second homes.

Yet the Dems are still not viewed as the "party of the rich".

The Democratic Rich in Cali and NYC need to check their privilege.

Oh, and the increase in the standard deduction, too.

I don't give Trump much credit for things, but he did give us a much more progressive income tax code.

This is the same guy (Biden) who won't use his "executive authority" to do anything about the border crisis, which is a real crisis. I'm not a big fan of executive orders but for him to say his hands are tied is ridiculous, and the populists want to keep illegal immigration as a campaign issue. So nothing gets done and we continue to be flooded with illegals.

Biden created the border crisis with a single signature; it can be reversed with a single signature.

True, Paul, but giving in to the dems to give them a fig leaf before November plays, I believe, into their hands. They don’t follow current laws, why follow a new one? They own this crisis, and their entire motivation to pass anything is cover.

Democrats buying votes?? Erick surely you are kidding. What will they think of next? Dead people changing from lifelong republicans to democrats ?

It is sad that we have to point this out to people. I would think the Republican party could make a consistent argument to the voter. But maybe not. Grift is alive and well in many aspects of life in American and in human affairs.

too true, and yet more than just the elites vote for Democrats. I guess those folks love to give their money away.

Did y’all see the WSJ this morning? Their was an article about the number of college graduates who are underemployed. While, college graduates still earn more over a lifetime, the article stated that half are underemployed in fields that don’t require a college degree. So, not only is the government wasting people’s money it is also wasting everyone’s time. Subsidizing college education is inefficient and most of these people could have gotten their jobs without going to college and wasting lots of time and money. This needs to stop.

Republicans are missing the opportunity to seize on the student loan narrative. They can't just say, "forgiveness is a handout," then do nothing or propose any solutions to a problem that many, even those who disagree with an outright forgives, believe exists.

Here's what I propose for the Republican solution, for FAFSA originated loans, adjust the interest to a simple interest rate sufficient to cover the costs of administering the repayment process. By stopping the compounding interest rates on student loans, it will stop people from having to pay 2 and 3 times what they borrowed just to get close to paying off their student loans.
