One of the reports from Springfield about the Haitians was that they are picked up by vans every day and taken to work and then returned home in the late afternoon. I kept thinking of Schlindler’s list employees.

Great article Erick ! Well said as always

Great article, but I would add one more insight. Yes, the Dems want serfs (a.k.a. slaves), but in light of America's abysmal birth rate, "the meek [these serfs] will be the ones who will inherit the earth [America]."

Thanks Erick!!

We need to make it quick and easy (with all due diligence) for people who want to be Americans and contribute to our society to come here.

We need to build a wall so high that not even Superman could get over it for those who mean us ill.

Yes! Thank you for saying this. This has been my argument about the Democrat party for years. They were the party of slavery, Jim Crow and taking Japanese-American citizens' property and freedom when they put them in internment camps during WWII. They now hide behind the euphemism of reproductive rights to mask their glee over child sacrifice. They are now trying to replace black Americans with Hispanic Americans as their slaves and serfs. The other problem of a large illegal immigrant population is the subculture of crime that happens to them because if a crime is committed against them, they are afraid to go to the police because they believe they will either be deported or their prior experience with the police in their countries.

If Trump wins the election what he should do is given the illegal immigrants a 6-month window to self-deport. He could set up immigration centers in Mexico so they could go there to begin an orderly, lawful immigration process. (If Mexico won't agree then they could just release them back to Mexico and let them deal with them.) If after 6 months, any illegal immigrant caught would be deported with no opportunity to ever immigrate into the US. Those illegal immigrants that are being held for serious crimes like murder and rape would not be deported but tried in American courts. If they are found innocent, they would be released to those centers in Mexico to begin processing. The others would serve their time in American jails.

Rampell smugly suggesting the "underclass" is necessary for the prices we enjoy is not only despicable, but also a stupid argument. Remember when robots stealing American jobs was all the outrage? It was a crap argument because as industry evolved, so too did workers. Both figured it out. Remember the EPA mandating emissions regulations and forcing automotive companies to post MPG notices on window stickers? The Big Three raised hell about it, yet they figured it out once they were forced to do so. Enforce the frickin' law and make it painful for companies to hire illegals. Only when they are forced to do so will industry and agriculture quit leaning on the crutch of illegals and figure out a better way.

When the government pays the rent gives out food stamps and provides health care to people who are able to work you take these people out of the work force. Give a man a fish he eats for a day teach a man to fish he can feed himself. The jobs are there if a person has no skills he can become a laborer until that person acquires them . It’s not the government job to take care of people for life just a helping hand when needed.

It's disgusting! They have done this for decades. My parents and husband worked those low paying jobs in the fields. They eventually became American citizens and assimilated to the American way of life.

We have a very small Lawn Service Company. We hired a man (part-time worker) who has to apply every year for TPS paying $$ to our government. He's been here almost 30 years. There's no path for citizenship for him. Neither side wants to fix the system because of the revenue. The other big ATL company he works for hires illegals and pays them under the table. If our government went after the companies that would

solve many issues with illegals coming into our

country.

I’ve been saying it for at least the past 4 years. This is no longer the Democrat party of my parents.

About those illegals: "Who do you think is mowing our beautiful lawns in Montgomery County?"

Said by Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-NJ), a one-time Ass't Sec'y for Democracy, HUMAN RIGHTS and Labor under President The One, year 2019.

Need more? We need amnesty for illegals already in our nation so they can continue to "pick our fruit and make our beds". Those words came out of the principled and elegant mouth of Barack Obama himself, in 2014.

Here's one of several sources that verify these comments: https://thepoliticalinsider.com/democrat-rep-and-obama-era-official-we-need-illegals-to-mow-our-beautiful-lawns/

I don't have any miracle cure ideas. It just shows you that when the federal government gets their nose in things it's bureaucracy at it's finest. Maybe if a certain state needs workers with requests from their employers they should send notice to the ports of entry and the migrants could apply for a green card through that state. And employers are required to pay the same wage as any citizen and that employees is required to learn English. Any way to get migrants on the books. I get that there is always going to be what ifs, but it sure beats the heck out of throwing gobs of money at a broken system. States, cities, counties and rural areas certainly can't afford the way things are now. Then when the migrant system is fixed they can fix the welfare system, then the education system, then........

Until recently I was on dating sites off and on for the better part of 4-5 years. At 62, I looked for women close to my age (finally found one!) and got 5-6 times more attention from foreigners, both here and abroad. You might be surprised, or maybe not, how many openly solicit anchor marriages (not knowing that marrying a US citizen doesn’t automatically qualify a foreign spouse for citizenship). I’ve heard the stories of many who came here on tourist visas and overstayed. The USCIS doesn’t look for these people and turns a blind eye to them being hired, or to borrow a term, becoming serfs. Like Erick, I am not upset they get hired for Americans’ sake because they take jobs that Americans don’t want. Low-paying unskilled labor, the men often in manual labor positions, and the women often in personal care. They think getting here they will find opportunity. What they find is indenture. Unscrupulous employers overwork and underpay them, with the threat of outing them hanging over their heads. I didn’t read this anywhere, didn’t hear it on any media. I could name names.

Both political parties perpetrate this scheme.
