Erick. I rarely comment, I mean why? But is this case I feel compelled. I do believe that Mr. Trump will win the presidential election and lose both houses. I feel the real reason is that the RNC craves to be the minority party. That way the cannot be blamed for any thing and oh by the way the party really truly hates Donald Trump, even more than you do, I know amazing. While I think that Tim Scott would have made the best president this time and I do believe that he might have actually brought the party together, it was not to be. The democrat party, truly does not care, so many will waste votes, but enough will vote down ballot to make Mr. Trump impotent and waste another four years of " I have a phone and a pen" and drive the debt to 38 trillion. I'm old and have my own money so y'all will get to worry about this exquisically planned event

The juxtaposition of 1992 and 2024 is striking. It is like life imitating art. It a plot line designed to expose hypocrisy and make people think about their own biases. Except movies take place over about 2 hours, real life is 22 years later.

Bush's vs Biden's economy - same setting, characters are on opposite sides.

Clinton vs Trump - Trump avoided the draft 5 times, also has woman issues, and is deeply flawed, but is very charismatic in person.

It a movie theater everyone could see the foreshadowing of the 2024 results and would be yelling at the screen for Democrats not to take this position.

Again...I keep asking, what happens if Trump is exonerated, or these trials extend beyond the election which is beginning to be more likely? Erick continues to say that some polls show if Trump is found guilty that will change the votes, but what is the scenario if that doesn't happen? If he is exonerated in some cases (which is very likely) and the others are pushed beyond the election it would appear that his argument that these are political trials will become more believable and the "threat to democracy" issue gets turned on its head. Moreover, as these trials get pushed closer to the election, judges and juries may be reticent to put their thumb on the scales.

The GOP also is in its own bubble. Neither Trump, nor most of his voters, realize how his pettiness and name-calling turn off Independent voters, who may choose to stay home on election day.

He covers that in the first paragraph.

So from a non reactive and or emotional view point

Do you think this mass influx of illegals really is the demo’s way of filling ranks when they lose the black vote and Hispanic vote? If it’s possible how would they go about pulling it off?

Not looking for a “the world is flat” and or “ we didn’t land on the moon” kinda retort 😄

I really don't think so. Giving this argument a clean, close, comfortable shave with Occam's Razor, I think the Progressive Left is just so wound up in its desire to abolish all borders and correct all injustices, wherever they may be.

I suppose they could become welfare dependents that can vote themselves a paycheck, but that strikes me more as a Hail Mary pass--and even if it were the case, the half-life of such dependency (and associated voting pattern) has historically been very short. The old Irish and Italian Catholic immigrants aren't very Dem today, and Hispanics are moving to the GOP about as fast as Hispanic immigrants are coming in.

Ethnic grievance has been more effective at the Dems retaining immigrants than welfare, and that dog hunts less and less for immigrant groups.

Dovetailing your commentary, there is a complete lack of seriousness exhibited by the majority of Americans, including - and perhaps especially - our legislators. There's this WWE/reality show atmosphere that envelopes the entirety of politics, with only a small minority seeming to understand or care about the downstream consequences of such behavior. We are defying the odds, so it's only a matter of time before it catches up to us. Yet ironically, as a nation we continue to be shocked when Houdini dies in one of his "death-defying" stunts, or Wallenda slips off the high-wire, or one of Sigfried & Roy's tigers behaves like...well, a tiger! The writing is on the wall, but we're just not willing to take it seriously.

Forcing Biden out on the dem side was never a realistic scenario. I'm not a historian of politics so could be wrong on this, but seriously how often does an incumbent president either get primaried or choose not to run. It just doesn't happen especially with relatively good economic data. The media bias for Biden (really dems in general) is horrendous and should be called out. The amount of coverage that his poor foreign policy and declining mental capacity should receive is a multiple of what most media companies actually cover.

Honestly though the much bigger issue is on the repub side. Conservative media absolutely refuses to level with people about Trump's illegal attempts to end democracy - I assume they (including you) believe that there is no coming back from this type of honesty with the audience and that delivering this truth really would be career ending. Unfortunately this creates a bias where most republicans think that its just a "personality" issue with Trump vs. an issue of illegally trying to end democracy.

I believe there is a very real chance that Trump gets elected as a convicted felon and I hope we as a nation don't wuss out on incarcerating him just because he is pres. Yes, we would be a ridiculous clown show of a nation to have a sitting president in prison but if that's what people vote for - so be it. There has to be consequences for his actions.

Lbj didn't run. He had poor pollong numbers and good cognitive skills. Carter had poor polling, didn't bow out, and got schmatternated in the election. Biden has poor polling numbers and is a poor decision maker even when cogent. It will be interesting from here to the election.

Good points on Carter and LBJ. Dems lost both times so maybe the lesson is just that voters punish the party of the low approval pres whether he runs or bows out.

"The Democrats keep forgetting, in their echo chamber, that voters vote on the microeconomic picture and Democrats are selling the macroeconomic picture" .... Neither the macro- nor the microeconomic picture is healthy.

Bidenomics has trashed our nation's global trading strength, doubled our energy costs, quadrupled our defense expenditure needs, and (further) weakened the USD. The pain experienced by individual households, regaled quarterly with manipulated statistics purporting to show that life is good, shows no signs of ending.

Fools will vote for Biden because they don't know better. Those who suck from government's teats will vote for Biden, because he assures them that there is no dignity remaining in work nor in self-sufficiency. And billionaires will vote for Biden, having already parked many of their assets outside the reach of the Democrat regime.

I find it very sad that less than 50k voters in Iowa and New Hampshire seem to be the ones that decide who our nominees will be.

It’s a known fact that voter participation in the primaries is way down.

I also find it disturbing that those two states are done and the nomination is all wrapped up. What about the other states?

Nope. Instead we get 2020 2.0. Great job America. I know polls are favorable but they were favorable for Clinton as well. They were favorable for Bush in 1992.

People don’t like Biden. A majority don’t in fact. But many more don’t like Trump. I really don’t believe that there are people or voters out there who voted for Biden in 20 who are now going to get an epiphany and vote for Trump. Biden won’t get 81 million votes. But he will probably get enough to win.

I just wish both parties would have the guts to say “no”. Both of you need to be in a nursing home. Be gone!!

I've listened to Democrats talk about the border issue and Erick isn't kidding when he talks about them being insular. On the border, they blame the predictable policy failures of the Biden administration on Republicans who are cynically exploiting it for political reasons. They do this while claiming any attempt to put up physical barriers or law enforcement at the border is racist and while openly spouting that America needs as many illegals as possible for economic and demographic reasons. In other words, its your fault there is a problem at the border even though we don't really see it as a problem and will block or ignore everything you pass to try to fix it. The gall to argue this when they are suing Texas for putting up barbed wire barriers and calling for the Federal government to nationalize the Texas Natiinal Guard is astounding. These people either don't think words have any connection to reality or have no shame.

Have you seen the text of the bill wending its way thru the Senate, the bill that "allows" up to 5,000 migrants to legally cross into our nation daily? That's 1,825,000 illegals per year, ad infinitum. How many Republican senators support that bill?

As bad as Biden and the democrats are, the press is worse. They have totally abandoned their responsibility. As for the lawfare against Trump - from Fani to the Smith case being pulled from the docket - it all appears to be falling apart. And even if the Dems do gain some cooked up conviction, it will only strengthen Trump and the margin of victory will be real time greater but do know the Democrats will do anything and I do mean anything to maintain power. Marxists lie and cheat and these Democrats are Marxists. Or worse. Sorry. Just calling balls and strikes.

This will continue to be an interesting race for president. Neither Trump or Biden should be candidates, but apparently they will be our choices come November. I will vote less for the candidate and more for the party, hoping that our country will survive the present mess.
