Good morning. The Associated Press wants you to know Joe Biden, off on another vacation at the beach, is surrounded by disasters in the passive voice. “Was dealt…”. Who dealt them? Was it the AP in the spirit of “you smelt it, you dealt it?” No, of course not. It was Joe Biden himself.

I totally agree with your assessment of McConnell and McCarthy. Senate Republicans should embrace McConnell as their leader because of what he can accomplish, while House Republicans should find another, worthier Congressman to replace McCarthy in the leadership role. McCarthy is a total opportunist who bends with the wind.
Bone to pick...I'm probably simple minded but I'm tired of all this bashing of Mitch McConnell. You rightly pointed out that he knows the insides of Washington better than anybody and, dammit, he can get things done. So why do we want him gone for somebody who has to cut their teeth on learning what to do and building collaborators to get it done. Let's face it, new people ain't always good people and they take too much time to figure stuff out.
