I think the real issue is credibility. The main stream media is on a slippery slope downwards. We are getting close to the time when the majority of citizens will no longer believe anything that is in print or on the TV. This could be very bad for the republic if we were to have a real emergency.

The use of the "slippery slope" analogy implies that it's accidental that the Great American Leftmedia finds itself where it is. It is NO accident, Tom. The sooner we all realize that this is being DELIBERATELY done to distract us from the Democrats' Marxist agenda, the sooner we can set about making sure it doesn't happen, beginning next year.

And while waiting to vote, we can make sure everyone realizes what the left's plans for us is, so we can quietly resist, each in his/her own way.

If Kyle Rittenhouse was black, would he have received the same treatment? I dont believe so. History says no. Stats say no. I dont think Rittenhouse was wrong, legally. He should have borne some kind of responsibility for his actions, but not murder. However if this was a black teen the coverage and treatment wouldn't be the same. He definitely wouldn't be hailed as a right wing "hero"...He would be lumped in with the looters and rioters. Guaranteed.

Don't be so sure of that. here's a recent example of a Black man - a drug dealer, noi less - found not guilty of murder in conjunction with a sheriff's raid on his residence:

https://www.bing.com/search?q=black+man+acquitted+of+murder+in+SWAT+raid&cvid=5caf71418a1947f3934f9beb3311f211&aqs=edge..69i57.18364j0j1&pglt=427&FORM=ANNTA1&PC=SCOOBE

Yes, he was convicted of a felony charge of gun poossession by a convicted felon, but the state of Florida can't imprison him forlife on that charge. So, even here, a not at all upstanding member of his community was acquitted when warranted.

Google Andrew Coffee IV. Disproves your point that black teens/men never get a fair trial or coverage. I'm not hailing Kyle as a right wing hero, but it's hearting to see that justice can still prevail in this country even when a trial and person is being slandered by corporate media and even Biden.

Thanks for your one example. Guess that proves everything right? Let get real...

No, not everything is right. However, things are far less wrong than you and the other grievance mongers would like to admit. In fact, you can't admit to the truth, as it would destroy your precious narrative of nonexistant systemic racism.

We recently had a black male who was an active shooter at his school. He got bond. We just had a black male INTENTIONALLY run over someone with his car and get bond. He just ran over dozens and the media is going on and on about how they're "not sure of his motive."

If you get right down to it, they are making excuses for bad behavior by these people solely on the color of their skin. That, by definition, is actual racism.

Really? That's what racism is? Wow...if that isn't proof that things haven't changed much idk what is. You clearly have never experienced actual racism. Good night to you sir.

I don't trust MSNBC hosts any more than I trust Tucker Carlson. They are all frauds, hucksters, charlatans and rating whores. There is no "straight" news anymore, you need to filter out all the crap that both sides spew in order to get their respective tribes to tune in.

This column is irresponsible, which is uncharacteristic and unworthy of Mr. Erickson. He makes one factual error about Kyle Rittenhouse, which is that he most definitely did cross the state line. He lives in Antioch, Illinois, and came to Kenosha, Wisconsin. However, that is fairly minor and is not my problem with the column.

No motive has been given for the despicable excuse of a human being who plowed his SUV into the crowd at the Waukesha Christmas parade. It is premature and irresponsible to assume that this has anything to do with the Rittenhouse case. The man in custody has been identified (the following is from the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel):

"A 39-year-old Milwaukee man with an open court case related to domestic violence has been taken into custody, according to a law enforcement source with firsthand knowledge of the situation. The Associated Press also confirmed the man's identity Monday morning.

Darrell Brooks Jr., the man suspected of being the driver, has been charged three times in less than two years with recklessly endangering the safety of others, most recently on Nov. 5 as part of a domestic abuse incident for which he was also charged with resisting or obstructing an officer.

Brooks was released from jail on Friday after posting bond in the recent incident, according to court records. He also was charged in July 2020 with two felony counts of second-degree recklessly endangering the safety of others using a dangerous weapon. Both cases are ongoing.

Authorities have have not publicly disclosed what they believe was the man's motivation. One law enforcement source told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel the man had been involved in an earlier incident on Sunday, possibly also related to domestic abuse, just before the parade carnage occurred."

I live just a few miles from Waukesha and the victims of this horrendous act and the citizens of Waukesha do not deserve this idle speculation. This may or may not be related to race, it may or may not be related to the Rittenhouse case or it may be another sorry excuse of a human being taking his anger out on innocent bystanders.

Please, just wait for the facts to come out. This is awful enough as it is. Please don't pile on.

Puh-leeze. Face reality. He is a monster who Democrats let out of jail because they love felons and hate the law-abiding. Who cares what the 'investigators' declare. Look at his social media. He is a BLM fan who has been ginned up by Democrat politicians and the Democrat Media to hate whites. A mass murderer. Thanks, Dems.

You Marxists who suddenly think it should be illegal to cross state lines are ridiculous. (He drove there, and then got the weapon. But who cares?) Kyle is a hero who, when Trump and the Democrats refused to protect the law-abiding against the fascist Dem mob, risked his own life to help protect the businesses and safety of strangers. I will shed zero tears for the serial ped* and the other criminals who tried to beat/kill him and lost. Kid has amazing poise. Now let's let him be a teen.

Wow. I see you did not actually read what I wrote. I said Mr. Erickson made one minor error. I said nothing about the rest of his list of media distortions, as I did not see any errors there. I said nothing about Mr. Rittenhouse's guilt or innocence. The jury has reached its verdict which I believe is the same verdict I would have reached (one can never be sure unless one has actually sat on the jury as the verdict must be reached based on facts and law, not the narrative of either side of the political spectrum.) I made no qualitative comment about Mr. Rittenhouse having come from Illinois to Wisconsin that evening. It is not illegal, it is not uncommon, and it had no bearing whatsoever on his guilt or innocence. I simply said that he had crossed a state line that evening.

I did, however, make a mistake in my comment. I distracted from my main point which was to withhold judgement about the motives of the man who killed six people and injured many others in the city less than five miles from where I live. We now know much more about this mass murderer and, it appears, his motives stem simply from being the pure evil creature that he is and seems to have little, if anything, to do with the Rittenhouse court case.

Have a very happy Thanksgiving.

That guy did it because of what the "media" has been posting. He's a violent POS who has already ran over one person he was mad at. Now, he did it to dozens.

The vile Soros funded prosecutor in that jurisdiction wants these "equity" bails. Fine. The idiots voting them into office will enjoy the crime wave and lack of business in their area.

I was under the impression from what I've read that Kyle's dad lived in Kenosha and that the business Kyle was trying to protect was his family's business. His grandfather owned that gas station that Kyle was trying to protect and at the time Kyle was with his father. Am I wrong?

Expand full comment

I guess it depends on how you view it. He lived in Antioch, IL, with his mother. The criminal complaint shows his address at Antioch. His father lives in Kenosha, but Kyle lives with his mother. He was there to protect a car dealership, nothing I have seen says anything about his grandfather being an owner, but I guess I can't definitely refute that statement. He was often in Kenosha and worked there, but the evening of the riot, I believe it was his mother who drove him to Kenosha. Nothing in the criminal complaint says anything about Kyle being with his father.

But, as I said, a minor point, having nothing to do with whether or not he was guilty of any of the charges, except possibly the weapons charge which was dropped.

As I said, a minor point.

Expand full comment

It's been established that his mother did not drive him to Kenosha. After the shooting his friend drove him back to Antioch, where upon hearing what happened his mother took him to the local police station where he turned himself in.

He lives part-time with his mother and the two locations are very close. Those in teh media bemoaning the "crossed state lines" are trying to make that out to be he traveled miles and miles to do so. He didn't. He has deep ties to that community and he lives there part-time.

Why hasn’t MSNBC been sued? Is it illegal to sue networks for spreading verifiable false information? Hopefully Rittenhouse will step up to the plate as he was personally affected. It’s past time these networks had to pay the piper. Hope someone with deep pockets will assist Rittenhouse along this path!

Why are Rupert Murdoch and the Koch brothers vilified to an extent that random people outside politics know of them, but Philly billionaire Brian Roberts - friend of Obama, funder of anti-white, anti-American verbal attacks 24/365 - is completely anonymous. Brian Roberts and his family legally control Concast (which they got from their daddy), and media reports say they have ceded legal control to him. So he could stop the hate on his network with a single email or phone call. It's time the country learned about Brian's funding of hate.

Sadly, with Leftwing Democrats controlling (and trolling) the Media, and thus the Narrative--they can do a lot of damage and division. It appears the driver of the SUV was a Black BLM supporter who was out on bail. The possibility that this was racially motivated will be down-played . He will be referred to as a "person" and the Press will pretend to not understand the motive. And the MSNBC/CNN/NYT/ABC's of the world will avoid the obvious with the noble excuse..."We do not was to stir up racial tensions." Gutter journalism.
