Trump is letting his emotional wrath trump national security. It is dangerous immaturity...

The evil of two lessors. Biden is a progressive demitia patient surrounded by progressive leftist, Trump has the EQ of a 14 year old.

Tik Tok never used it or instagram bailed on facebook in 2016

If you compare Biden’s 2022,2023 and 2024 SOTU speeches you will find they are almost the same

Erick - Good post on a topic that I had not realized was important.

I sincerely hope that after the election, when you don't have to worry about helping Biden with sober critiques of Trump, that you will actually hold Trump accountable for both boneheaded policy in office and more importantly antidemocratic actions. Complicity or even worse cheerleading of Trump's antidemocratic rhetoric and action from conservative media and elected republicans during the next Trump term is one my greatest fears.

All of this. Mean tweets hurt feelings and brash comments are still better than anything that Biden and his policies are.

I don’t remember despite his bad tweets my wallet being empty or boys playing against girls or countries starting wars because of a weak America.

Translation TikTok is NOT the central issue. Getting Biden out of office before he destroys the country is the priority. We can deal with TikTok once the liberal circus clowns are out of office.

I don’t care if TikTok is destroyed or if Facebook goes with it. They are both equally bad. China or not. And if we are soooo concerned about China hacking and data mining may I remind you of the balloon and other stuff that happened on Bidens watch?

Nope. Trump Desantis or a piece of tinfoil would be better than what we have.

Biden being defeated and the Dems out of office is well worth it for some more Trump stuff. If people can’t see that then they are blind. And if they don’t like it then they should have nominated someone else.

Seriously.

The backlash over the kitchen stuff is a problem of your own making. I’m not sure if it’s blind shovenistic vision or what. But anyone could see that displaying an up and coming GOP senate member who appeared strong intelligent and capable was better than showing the old tired Trump.

You got what was coming to you.

And as for the Trump tweet. And there it is. The anti Trump bias finally making its self shown.

It was just a tweet. And honestly I could care less about tweets mean or otherwise. You either support this guy or not. If not then say so and be done with it. You shouldn’t be going on national radio talking about how he can win and then suddenly turn on a dime and tell him he’s bad for America.

That gives too much ammunition for the left.

You’re making this seem like 2016 when I quit listening to you for 2 years. I know I’m just one among many so what do you care?

But it’s apparent you’ve now decided this course.

The best way to deal with trumps tweets is to ignore it.

TikTok is an evil thing and needs to be destroyed and it will take care of itself.

Alas, we have no good choice here and are probably destined for four more years of Trumpian bluster and narcissism. (Amazing that that represents the "better choice.") But it is always discouraging to be reminded by the man himself why he should never occupy the Oval Office -- Empower America's greatest foreign adversary because you have a grudge with a U.S. social media company.

Zuckerberg spent over $400 million last cycle. Most going to somewhat questionablle tactics to beat Trump in the last cycle. Have you stopped to consider that Trump isn’t backtracking but looking for leverage to keep Zuckerberg and his money in check this cycle. Art of the Deal in practice…

This Nation needs US ALL TO KNOW WHAT THE CHINESE ARE DOING TO OWEN OUR NATION. They own thousands of acres and many are near our top security stations. They are moving in on us so fast that we need to move a lot faster that we are at this time. Yes, I have flown all over the world many times, studied about what is happening all of my last 50 years and keep up to date on what is happening to our nation. We are going DOWN HILL FAST. I just finished listening to Trump and it is a start in the right direction but there is MUCH more that needs to be done. I am just Praying that from this day forward that EVERY ONE OF US will start studying about the Lord of THIS WORLD. We need HIM now more than ever.

Erick, keep up the excellent work and you and your wife and family just keep following His leading.

The Chinese land grab of US property is perplexing to me. How do foreign nations buy land in the US? I just don't know how this works. And I know it's not actually nations buying but I still don't get it.

When the establishment of both parties sides with Joe Biden for a bill Thomas Massie and Rand Paul don't support, please at least be skeptical. I don't use TikTok, and I think it's trash. I've also seen what happens when we give the federal government more control.

Why can’t someone create an American version that doesn’t data mine?

Unfortunately, we've passed the point of no return. Our data is already being mined and sold to everyone from the NSA to the Chinese government. They don't even need TikTok to spy on us, although I sure as heck wouldn't put it on my phone or any device in my home.

I’m not on any social media other than Next Door which is also becoming worthless. As far as I am concerned all social media is a waste of time and more of a detriment than a positive.

Also, I’m no supporter of Trump, but I’m not sure how Erick can say that Trump is supporting Tik Tok because he’s mad and immature. That’s his guess…Trump may have some strategic reasoning why he supports it - at this time. Who knows what he’ll do next?

I recommend this Glenn Greenwald video and his past episodes about the issue.

I agree with your assessment of social media.

Regarding Trump's flip-flop on Tik Tok, it's emblematic of his entire persona and that's the problem. His unpredictability of action and motivation are problematic, no?

I don’t know. There are negatives and positives to it. In the foreign policy arena it may be useful because what he may do will probably keep our adversaries at bay. However if he is willing to capitulate on a whim that is a problem. That’s where I have an issue with everyone who says he is impulsive. I’m not sure that is true and we only see snapshots of his personality. I have heard from some that he is loyal to a lot of people. I just don’t know and I don’t think that anyone viewing from the outside knows for certain.

Go back and read or listen to this post. Donald Trump is making policy regarding TikTok based on his grudge against Facebook. This is a perfect example where he puts his personal goal of revenge above the national security concerns of the U.S.

You don't want either friend or foe to be guessing about our foreign policy intentions. For friends, the logical response to uncertainty is to go their own way, thus reducing the amount of influence we can have over them. For adversaries, their mistakes about our intention (as with Korea in the 1950's) can lead to war.

I would disagree. In some area of foreign policy strategic ambiguity has been purposely pursued. Taiwan is one example, while we have many times said we would defend them, there is no formal alliance. It’s not always used but sometimes it is the right approach.

I do not use TikTok. I do not allow my kids to use the app on their phones. TikTok is already banned on U.S. government devices. I am not so certain it’s a giant national security threat as Erick says, but I do know it’s not run by an American company and the data is available to the Chinese Communist Party.

Anyone who would vote for Donald Trump deserves TikTok, and whatever other impulsive, self-centered politics Trump will lurch into. It will be four years of grievance mongering but not your grievances, only his.

Erick is dead on but there is more. The TikTok live gift virtual currency economy is funneling millions a day directly out of the American economy to China. TikTok keeps 84% of every dollar users spend on those virtual coins. This is as dangerous as the electronic propaganda, and forcing ByteDance to divest will only allow the economic grab to continue. It will just send the money elsewhere. Unfortunately to date, I’ve been unable to get anyone’s attention. TikTok live gift structure should be banned as well!

He's supporting TikTok. He's supporting Disney. He's supporting BudLite. He's endorsing RINOs in primaries all over the place instead of principled conservatives. Is this a prelude to disaster for the fall? Hope not, but Trump's making me feel more uncertain by the minute about GOP voters having gleefully handed the party over to this one egomanical, more than occasionally delusional man.

My observation is watch what he does, not so much what he says. 3rd party observers who have had close aboard observations of DJT have noted that he listens and will change his mind when the facts are laid out. Methinks Chinese, Iranian and Russian leaders do not want him to be elected.

You can't be serious about Putin not wanting him reelected.
