Millions of words are written every year in mainstream media outlets about right-wing extremism. James Jay Lee stormed Discovery Channel’s network headquarters with a handgun and took three people hostage. The story was immediately reported as right-wing extremism until it was discovered that Lee was a communist who was mad at Discovery for not doing enough to highlight climate change. Unsurprisingly, the story disappeared.
Floyd Lee Corkins brought 15 Chick-fil-A sandwiches to the Family Research Council with the hopes of killing as many people as possible and stuffing their mouths with the sandwiches. Corkins turned out to be a radical progressive.
James Hodgkinson, a Bernie Sanders supporter, attempted the mass assassination of Republicans at a congressional baseball practice, nearly killing Rep. Steve Scalise. The FBI refused to label the act as politically motivated.
For all the valid concerns about right-wing extremism, the left refuses to acknowledge it on their side. That makes it hard to really believe they’re concerned about right-wing extremism so much as using it for political expedience and narrative shaping. Take a listen.
To fail to acknowledge that this fall can simultaneously be a referendum on both Biden and MAGA is dangerously naive. For millions in the middle, voting is an act that involves balancing the pros and cons of each side. Biden has a lot of cons, but MAGA does as well. The more the right clings to MAGA, the more the vote this fall becomes Biden vs MAGA. And I would not count on that vote breaking in favor of Republicans.
One PROBLEM, though, is when I try to explain to anyone on the left some of these issues including MSM bias they say that YOU, Erick, are a Right-wing-extremist. Clearly they don't listen to you. I believe MJT may be an extremist on the right. Carlson and maybe Hannity are close to being real right-wing extremists, but YOU Sir Erick are not a right-wing extremist. My pillow guy? Ben Shapiro?
