Erick, this post alone is worth the annual subscription. I have a blended family, am in my 50’s, and my wife dukes the roost. But seeing this post, I felt the need to share in a group text to my family. I’m an introvert within my family, keeping my thoughts to myself most times, but this post moves me, and so i shared it with them. Everyone needs to hear this message, because even if you believe, it helps to hear it. God is on his throne, we are being reminded that all life is precious. Powerful words. Thank you!

Do not ever allow anyone to disparage the calling God has on you in your position. You are as much called to do what your are doing as I am to be the Overseer of a church. I know I shouldn’t be, but I am continually impressed at your ability to switch so easily between being justifiably critical of politicians & providing succor for the saved. I pray for you always. Again, very nicely stated!

Good piece. My church initially planned to hold services. I would have attended an early morning one that is lightly attended. But word came down that all services would be cancelled after a strong suggestion by the Virginia United Methodist leadership to all UMC congregations. It's a good time to read the Bible and reflect personally on its message

Our granddaughter who turned 7 yesterday, said that "even though the Corona virus is unstoppable, God is more unstoppable." Thanks for the well written reminder.

Thanks for reminding us. As an over 60 single adult, however, who still goes to work and church, I don't see any community spirit. All I see is fear and panic. I hear we need to stay isolated and not to get close to others. I'm sorry but this attitude makes me angry, alone and sad. The only expression of love I can give is a hug! Smiles don't cut it and now I'm treated like a leper and that hurts worse than any illness! I'm not afraid but everyone else seems to be. I pray this isn't how our country reacts to every illness that comes along. God didn't create us to be alone! If I reach out to hug, I'm not being selfish, I'm in need of love!

Carol, I believe that one of my "gifts" is smiling. I'm not sure why, but when I smile at people and look them in the eye, so often they do a double-take, then truly smile back at me. I have made their day, and they have made mine. So...keep smiling :)
