Re: "Finish Him".

YES. Absolutely. FINISH HIM. What the f*ck are you waiting for??

Grinning ear-to-ear over Tennessee, the Virginia SOCTUS decision, and the UK elections.

Irritated over the GOP in Georgia.... these feckless assholes refuse to do anything, and refuse to step aside for people who will.

Re: "We Should All Hate The Press Even More"

Their level of despicableness goes so deep, it can't be measured.

Re: Will Chamberlain: "Border crossings to near zero. Net negative migration. 95% reduction in asylum grants. Lawsuits against a slew of woke universities. DEI getting crushed everywhere. Massive, beneficial deregulation. No tax on tips. No tax on overtime. Venezuela turned into an American ally. And we’re only 15 months in."

HELL to the YEAH.

And finally.... Hey Heritage Foundation.... you reap what you sow. You made your bed, now lay in it.

As many of you know, I absolutely cannot stand Donald Trump. That said, I think it possible that he may have already rendered Iran less dangerous than it was before.

I am hearing news reports to the effect that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard is now running the country instead the mullahs. Theocratic control is what I have most feared about Iran's nuclear ambitions; my concern being that an Ayatollah might think that bringing about apocalypse would be a good thing. Contrasting that with North Korea, its leaders merely view nuclear capability as a way of staying in power, in which context initiating a nuclear exchange would be supremely counterproductive.

Though not a complete regime change, might we already have changed it enough? What am I missing?

I'm glad to see Kemp hitting the streets with his shadow GOP, since the GAGOP is a bunch of morons.

The PA GOP is similarly dysfunctional. It's run by a bunch of people who suck at fundraising, and are out of touch with the rank and file committee people who actually get the work done (or used to, before a lot of Trump humpers pushed them out - and now that Trump is off the ballot, many of them are going back whence they came, never to be seen again, since they never worked for any of the down ballot). They claimed to have flipped PA for Trump in 2024 but that was mostly TP USA's ground operation. I used to be a committeeperson in a collar county of Philadelphia (10+ years) and the state/county GOP were supremely frustrating organizations to deal with. I used to think I could help change it from within, but they are a lost cause. Most of their leadership is just there to bolster their resume and business network, and make deals with Democrats for whatever table crumbs they'll let the R's have.

I moved to a solid red southern state and couldn't be happier. The parties aren't even relevant in local municipal and school board races, just statewide offices. I don't miss them.

Nick Fuentes is a putz. Sad state of affairs when anyone listens to him with anything other than derision

Kathy's avatar

I have never heard him speak and I don't plan on changing that.

Randy's avatar

Yeah, good plan! I sure don't seek him out. My exposure to him are limited to clips from hosts like Erick or Ben Shapiro pointing out his garbage.

Andantelle's avatar

The president should know you ought not make a deal with people who are irrational.

Sue Haggerty's avatar

Yes, I'll admit, I am one of those that has said "finish the job." But what does that mean? How do you crush a radical ideology? How do you inspire a largely unarmed population to overthrow their leaders? Waiting for their economy to collapse is a tactic but doesn't rid them of the IRGC. And while this is all percolating, we're getting distracted at home by issues both parties are only too happy to embrace. We can't lose focus. Who would have ever thought that the leaders of the Middle East would be the ones encouraging us on.

Pool Westbury's avatar

We are not putting troops on the ground in Iran. It is that simple. You can bounce the ruble all you want but it won't bring down the regime.

Jason Klemm's avatar

if Trump decides go after the bridges and power plants in Iran, it could perhaps helps the people of Iran to rise up to take back control of their country back and let an intern government be the ones to deal with Trump to complete a deal with to end this once for all. that probably be one possible way not to have troops on the ground.

Southern Planter's avatar

You are correct, Pool. Troops on the ground will never happen. And more "love taps" are not going to do the job either. Interesting that Trump, a man found liable for sexual assault, would choose to apply a term normally used to excuse spousal abuse to describe a military action, don't you think?

Neil McKenna's avatar

Referring to a post of mine just above this, is it possible that divesting the mullahs of power (in favor of the IRGC) has already happened, and that this might be enough? Anxious to hear your thoughts.

Southern Planter's avatar

Hope so, but not seeing any signs of that yet. Never know what’s going on behind the scenes though.

Michael Davis's avatar

How is it that Iran has closed the strait when we supposedly wiped out their missiles, navy and air force?

Joe Hatfield's avatar

It seems that they still have drones and speedboats..... lots and lots of speedboats.

Not frigates, not corvettes, not gunboats, not even coastal patrol boats...... but small speedboats.

Cheesefrog's avatar

I know, it's like watching a fishing rodeo. I don't know how to take them seriously.

Joe Hatfield's avatar

"Fishing Rodeo"..... now THAT is an image 🤣🤣🤣

Southern Planter's avatar

Not to mention that we "decimated" their nuclear capabilities with the B2 strikes last year. So, exactly what is this war all about?

Southern Planter's avatar

Erick, you should not push so hard for Trump to finish the war he started. He is a busy man and has a lot of important things to manage. Like building a ballroom.

Blair's avatar

BTW - just saw Trump's new tariffs were deemed unlawful again, big suprise.

Beverly, both "bright shiny objects" and "an unfocused child" are interesting descriptions of pretty underaged girls!

Also crows and ravens 🤣🤣🤣

Beverly's avatar

You can’t be serious.

Finish Iran...please.

Southern Planter's avatar

Regarding Iran, I just heard on the news that Russia will be providing jam proof drones to the Iranians -- helping Iran to kill Americans. Russia is an ally of Iran. Meanwhile, Ukraine offers to help the USA with their state-of-the-art drone technology. Yet, Trump treats Zelenski like he is our enemy rather than Putin. Go figure.

Pool Westbury's avatar

Russia has bigger issues to deal with than helping Iran fight America.

I feel badly for the. UAE. We are wrecking our good will with the Gulf states.

The expansion of the Abraham Accord is more and more distant, maybe even some defections. We are right on the edge of changing Iran’s power and are waffling

Mark R Seeley's avatar

Eric wrote, "There were good reasons not to start the fight." Indeed. This was a big miscalculation on the administration's part. They did not count the cost. Trump's hubris got our country into this mess.

Sadly, now that we are in the deep weeds, as Eric said, "There are no good reasons to end it once started until the job is finished." But how? Some of the rhetoric on this post seems reckless to me. Is blowing them to smithereens the answer when for so many over there life is extremely hard? The rank-and-file Iranian desires regime change. Is economic collapse the way to do about it?

I have an no answers. Zilch.

JKK's avatar

what's that old saying? "If you're going to kill the king, you'd better kill the king". We started this action in Iran and overall nothing will change unless we 'kill the king'. Finish this wretched regime off, for the good of the entire globe.

Neil McKenna's avatar

No answers here either, Mark. I post to question the plausibility of inciting the Iranian people to rise up against their government.

I said it again today: I cannot stand Donald Trump. If you want to see me get behind our Commander-in-Chief, however, try attacking my country. Especially for a populous that has been fed the notion that America is the great Satan for generations now, expecting them to now embrace what we are doing to their country strikes me as quite a reach.

Pool Westbury's avatar

I would suggest you read about the Punic Wars. Rome versus Carthage. Lasted over 100 years.

How long are we going to have to fight the Muslim Brotherhood? The Iranian Regime?

The US will not send troops into Iran. Thus, we just strangle them as best we can and help the GCC and others build a more resilient society based on the American view of the World.

We have expelled Iran and its tyranny from Venzuela. Ukraine is pushing hard against Russia. China is far more constrained today than 24 months ago.

Mark R Seeley's avatar

I have no knowledge of the Punic Wars. I may have had a long, long time ago when I took The History of Western Civilization in college. But it's gone now. Appreciate the tip, but don't expect me to head to the library anytime soon.

Pool Westbury's avatar

Sure you do. Hannibal crossing the Pyrenees with elephants? Carthage?

Pool Westbury's avatar

Defeating the Iranian regime does not end the conflict between ideologies. If iran transitio. To a constitutional monarchy or a parliamentary democray that does not end the conflict with the ideology underlying the muslim brotherhood. Do you think the conflict between DEI, woke progressive critical theory will be defeated by free market small government adherents any time soon?

Cheesefrog's avatar

They're like cockroaches. You can stomp all the ones you see but there's always going to be more coming.

Pool Westbury's avatar

BTW, Russian oil revenues for the year are down over 20%. Why? Ukranian drones damaging Russian oil and gas infrastructure. The russian-iran alliance is getting weaker.

David Cherry's avatar

Th GOP still hasn’t learned that except for Trump they can’t excite the people to vote for them because they see little real changes when the GOP does win. The GOP winner lets the MSM define them in all the negative ways possible rather than just doing the job they promised. The GOP has to be like Admiral Farragut and just say “damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead”. Instead they say “he’s got a gun, run!!!”

Wade Lipsey's avatar

You hit the nail on the head about the Georgua Republican Party ! They have been nonexistent this election.

Southern Planter's avatar

Yep. Credit them for Hershel Walker.

Cheesefrog's avatar

I don't ever want to have to step into a voting booth and see a candidate that bad on the ballot again.

Hoosier Richard's avatar

i dont mind the high prices if we destroy iran. i dont understand why the ships cant use the islands at night to navigate because they are glowing red with fire. why arnt we sinking every boat along that area, if it is in the water, it goes boom, if it is near the water, it is a crater. we should give ships a time that the bombs will be falling and that time is their cover. or we just park the destroyers there and they cover the convoys leaving. fuck the deal, just destroy iran, air drop weapons into the country. take them out.

Neil McKenna's avatar

I think the difficulty is that it is hard to take out every single speedboat, which is all it might take to destroy a tanker trying to traverse the Strait. Then again, maybe not. But if you're on a tanker loaded with highly combustible cargo, would you want to take the chance?

No expert here, but it would seem that all it takes to shutdown the Strait of Hormuz is a few speedboats.
