The war on drugs is an abject failure. The Government has been failing the American people for 40 years on that front, which is an extension of failing children in education.

Her son's were doing drugs. Is the objective "clean, pure" marajuana, coke, heroin, ketamine, meth, etc.? The war on drugs just created an "acceptable" baseline, a talking point.

I know fentanyl is different, on the first taste you either die or are permanently addicted. I don't have the answer, but zero fentanyl is like zero COVID, not achievable. I do know controlling the Southern border will not eliminate fentanyl.

Is some amount of fentanyl acceptable?

Is some amount of illegal aliens accessible?

I don't think we should conflate the two. The reason to control immigration is wholly different, and achievable, from the reason to control imports.

Perhaps I'm just very naive, but it obviously takes two sides to make a market... buyers and sellers.

I understand and support the efforts to stem the supply of fentanyl and, for that matter, other street drugs. What I don't understand is why there is such a large market for street drugs among our young people, in particular. What is causing them to go out and buy unregulated drugs on the street and risking their lives in the process? Perhaps we might spend some time and effort in reducing the desire for these drugs, particularly among our youth?

I listen to Erick and read his commentary every day. I hear what he says when he holds both parties responsible for these issues. I agree when Erick says we should stop finger-pointing and do something substantive about the problem. Actually, these are the same statements we all make. We drive ourselves crazy with anger stemming from frustration. The frustration of listening to the news day after day saying the same thing over and over. We know the issues are there but no one is doing anything about any of it. This is because there is money involved. Every issue in this country, including the border, is tied to money and power. This Government is covered in greed and power and they WILL NOT stop. Yes you can voice your opinion on social media like I'm doing here but do you think my comments will have any effect? They are controlling the media. If you have a voice they take it away. The US Government and the Elitists if this country will never let the money train stop. What I'm trying to say is that many more people will die and the Government doesn't care because they have deemed it "acceptable collateral damage".

The “war on drugs “ dates back to Richard Nixon in 1971 and at least one First Lady took it up as her signature cause. It gets trotted out each 2/4 years as an election platform but otherwise, just empty words. Like so many other platforms. As Erick says, both parties are equally and completely culpable.

When the Bible tells us that 1/4th, that is 1/4th or the WORLDS population will die as we close in on the end times. I use to find that hard to believe. But today, it is happening and after C-19, we have lost about 1/3 or them and many are dying each and every day. We will see them going all around us as we continue in this life in this world. But the good news, He is coming for us SOON.

Blessings

We did not lose anywhere close to 1/3. Stop parroting ignorance.

We have almost 2 years left of this administration. I can’t imagine how many more will die from fentanyl poisoning in those 2 years. They want our guns because too many are getting killed. But they won’t do anything about the hundreds of thousands that are dying at the hands of the Chinese and Mexican drug cartels.

Consider this: More Americans died of overdoses last year than died in the hated

Vietnam war. Where are the protests?
