"At a basic level, if we presume the government gives everyone $500.00 to buy an XBox, either the supply will wipe out immediately or the price will skyrocket to maintain a reasonable supply. That is inflation." Excellent example, Erick. And in a way, that's already happened; try to buy an nVidia Ge Force 3060/70/80/90 video card? Now, those cards are, when you can find one, priced at ridiculous levels by the speculators who took the "stimulus" money they've been given over the last two years and gone shopping. Speculation was fueled by the "free" money these people were given.

I am 71, and I can safely say that this is the first time I have ever seen an Administration WILLFULLY create a hign inflation environment. And the Bidenauts' nominee for Comptro;;er of the Currency, who has a degree from Moscow State University (and I don't mean Moscow, Idaho), is on record as saying that it would be a good thing if all coal, oil, and gas producers went bankrupt tomorrow , it would be a good thing; the Green Raw Deal and all, you know. I'm sure that a homeowner in the Northeast, where I grew up, will disagree as he/she considers a 50-75% increase in the cost of home heating oil this winter.

The Marxist radicals who run Joe Biden KNOW that they have to get all this done rightnow, as they're looking at a massive loss of seats in Congress next November. They won't make the mistake that Obama made in settling for largely destroying the medical insurance market. You're seeing just what a "fundamental transformation of the United States of America" really looks like.

Welcome to Amerizuela.

The YouTube of this was also nicely done!

"Just the other day, MSNBC tweeted out an article claiming inflation was good for us."

Testing the waters to see just how far they can stretch gullible Americans without getting "snap-back".

As an example of stretch -> snap-back, my company did something akin to that 20 years ago by putting less-expensive parts used in consumer offerings into our commercial offerings. On paper, looked good - saved money on the BOM cost for a bit, then customers noticed and quit buying. Snap-back - we re-established the higher quality parts in our commercial offerings and customers came back.

MSNBC just wants to see how much poison is acceptable to increasingly lazy American thought. While they may "snap back" a bit for a while, keep looking for the increasing level of inanity in MSM publications to see how far they'll stretch.

And by the way, what exactly did Trump gaslight America over? The criminals and drug trafficking coming across our southern border, the fallacy of the Paris Climate Accord, the disaster that was NAFTA, the failure of our NATO allies to pay their fair share of expenses, the unfair trade practices of China and other so-called trading "partners", the very real Deep State or administrative state, calling out the fake news media? Seriously, I'm at a loss. Would someone not suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome please elaborate.

Trump was certainly hyperbolic at times. Outrageous tweets did get everyone's attention, but sometimes "boy meets world" test didn't really fly.

Whether outrageous equates to gas-lighting, will let others answer. Trump shook up the political norm, taking a certain level of "artistic license" with actual facts at times.

Taking a lesson from Luke's account in Acts 17:11:

"Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true."

we as Americans should also strive to be "good Bereans" and double check both allies' and adversaries' statements for exaggeration, hyperbole and yes, truth.

All talk and no action is what makes conservatives so damn frustrating, especially the elitist band of conservatives like those over at the National Review. What are we to do, just sit back and watch our economy crumble before our eyes and ride things out until the 2022 midterms, or worse yet the 2024 Presidential election? At what point does the citizenry rise up against this tyranny? It's maddening.

Isaiah 5:20

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!

Welcome to our age, where people believe they will never be called to give an account. There is one who knows the full story and before Him we will need to give an account for every word, every thought. If no truth is preached how then shall any escape? Keep praying that we may be found faithful and true.

Americans should spend less; reduce pollution? Except for Pelosi stocking her freezer with expensive ice cream (I wonder if she recycles?) and those beautiful, expensive outfits she wears everyday; Joe Manchin might want to buy a more current Maserati and Biden can build a fence costing $455,000.00 around his beach house (oh, I forgot, we're paying for that). Perhaps he will add another home to his portfolio considering he doesn't give that much in charitable donations. The ones who will suffer this year are the people who heat their homes with propane, while the politicians, including the millionaire Socialist Bernie Sanders, will not change any of their spending habits. They will just TELL US WHAT TO DO.

We’ll come on now. We let them get away with telling us that riots were just peaceful protests.

More rhetoric. You say Biden is lying about wages increasing and in the next line you say that wages are increasing BUT not that much and it is being offset by increased inflation.. Which is it? Is he lying or not?? Talk about gaslighting. Ironic much? This is exactly why we need a 3rd party. Republicans do the exact same thing as Democrats but each side complains about it when the other side does the exact same thing. It's always worse when the other side does it too. Trump spent 4 years gaslighting America, but of course it is worse under Biden. Dont worry about the branch in my eye while you have a whole tree in yours....

"This is exactly why we need a 3rd party."

We tried a serious third party about 30 years ago. Its name was Ross Perot. What did it get us? Why, Bill Clinton who won the presidency by losing the popular vote count by 13,936,923. He was thrashed by the Bush (HW) - Perot combination. Without Perot, Bush would likely have won by a landslide. But instead we got Bill Clinton who begat Al Gore, George W, maybe Barrack Obama and Joe Biden, the Steele Dossier and likely the Biden Presidency all resulting in the shit storm we are now in. BE VERY CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!

I’m trying to think what Trump may have gaslit about. But whatever gaslighting he did, the legacy media would hound him 24/7, for weeks. And that’s fine, except with Trump they’d be passionate about their ‘righteous’ anger and with Biden, any push back is anemic if not just the sound of crickets. Very casual rough guess but I’d put the gaslighting ratio between the Trump administration and Biden’s at 1 to 40.

The only good thing about where we are is the wokesters and Biden supporters are suffering too. Will they learn? The world’s history has always been filled with idiots. The present day has no shortage of them.

Expand full comment

Will they learn? No, as these people aren't idiots; they're quite intelligent. These are ideologues, who really believe in what they're advocating. That's why they can't be expected to confess the errors they don't believe they have made, and must be utterly defeated at the ballot box.

The exception I see is many don’t live what they preach. Examples, the person in a predominantly white neighborhood with a BLM sign in their front yard. The only black person I see at their house is the mailman… The Silicon Valley billionaire fighting climate change as they hop on their private jet to fly to their 3rd vacation home.
