We need to Rochambeau Trump for good.

I believe the media will soft pedal this story because, as in 2016, they realize that Trump is the candidate they WANT the Republicans to run. It didn't work in 2016 because Hillary was so disliked by mainstream America. The media need to boost Trump over DeSantis. That's their focus. As for us, playing Republican strategists, why would we want to run a candidate that at least 50% of mainstream America finds Distasteful. How many middle-class moms want their sons to grow up to be like Donald Trump?

Trump is no longer an asset; he is now a liability. Republicans should run from him just like Democrats run from Joe.

Time to move on this guy likes to be smoozed and doesn’t do a very good job of vetting constant turmoil and none of it good

Erick was trying logic today; I've tried it before. My comment was I do not expect that to work, based on my past experience. Not sure who called you stupid; wasn't me.

I'm just getting over the trauma of the mid-term rhetoric, races, and outcome. I'm not ready for this - "The point here is very basic — we are 708 days from a presidential election and we’re already having this much drama...." Can we please mandate a 6-month cooling off period after every election?

I can’t agree with you more Erick. I am not sure our country can survive a repeat of the 4 years when President Trump was in. The visceral hatred half the country has for him was horrible. there just has to be a better candidate for us to put forward. I don’t want to have to go thru those years again nor the current administration crap that is happening. Let’s get a great candidate and secure our borders again and spend money wisely with accountability. Go GOP.

No matter who the nominee is the left will hate him

Trump, Trump, Trump! OK, so you don't like him. We get that. We understand. Now tell us who you favor. Whoever it is, better be an actual fighter. If they're going to fold like a Jeb Bush, I'm sticking with Trump.

One more thing: Though he lost, Trump garnered some 74 million votes, many more than he did the first time around, which was more than any other sitting president ever received in a re-election campaign. The one thing no one on the Republican side had the foresight to contend with, however, was the enormous Democrat effort to pile up mail-in and absentee ballots, via its massive vote-harvesting project, long before "Election Day". Don't get me wrong; I too would like to see a new generation of Republican leaders rather than a recycling of former office holders and candidates, but we won't get where we want to go by berating those whose flawed personalities don't measure up to their considerable abilities. Just thank them for their service and move on.

"Republicans, do you really want to put up with this crap"

No. No. A thousand times no.

Agreed. Our bench is deep. Enough of the drama.

The problem is you cannot appeal to Trump supporters with logic. His appeal to them is visceral; they either do not believe inconvenient facts about him or choose not to care about them. I voted for him twice but would never do so again. I agree the problem is the GOP establishment is no longer a limited government organization, so we are not getting quality candidates.

Actually, logic works fairly well. What does not work is calling them an assortment of names and indicating that you think they are stupid.

I think Trump is on the verge of being indicted for election tampering in Fulton County Georgia. If he's indicted and tried in Fulton County, he will be found guilty.
