That was a serious whack you took there, Erick. Were you a football player, you'd be in the concussion protocol. Just accept that until the fog fully clears, you'll need to slow down iin any way possible; you'll probably need more rest than you're accustomed to needing.

The rest of the column is excellent. About crime: It still hasn't dawned on Democrats that they're suffering from multiple self-inflicted wounds on this issue. But when the ultra-liberal mayor of San Francisco finds herself calling for stepped up law enforcement after she was all in on defunding the police, other Democrats should have sat up, taken notice, and adjusted their positions. But they are, they continue to cling to their ideological positions, possibly for fear of being opposed in primaries or even general elections by the Marxist True Believers who have hijacked their party. Thus, nothing will change.

And by the way, That 800+ figure is not the number of shootings in Chicago in 2021; it's the number of MURDERS.

Praying for you still! so many people I know (unvaccinated) have COVID. But my poor 23 yr old vaccinated daughter has now had COVID 3 times! Just cold symptoms, body aches and low-grade fever.

Also, I don't work for them but I refer to them often, consider visiting The Amen Clinic. They are great with concussions and do FMRIs.

And I have problems with those lights. Maybe because I had a concussion at 5.

Hang in there!

some 20 years ago, I had emergency brain surgery; I had that problem with UV lights also, and I was very easily overwhelmed (they call it "flooded") by different grocery stores, and busy, crowded anything. that has gotten some better, but I will never again be able to go on a ferris wheel or livelier park ride, and needlework is more tiring, less relaxing. forgetfulness is spotty; I have slowed down a lot (but I am getting older) sometimes I draw a blank on something I know -- it may come back, it may not. (The capital of Uganda! sometimes I remember it's Kampala, but usually I am looking into a blank space on a wall)

I'm sorry about your injury, Erick. If you have not been scanned, ask your doctor for an MRI to exclude a small hemorrhage. Try to rest. Pushing won't help healing.

They tell me I was scanned. But I don't remember it.

Probably a CT scan, fast and accurate for acute bleeding. Your writing is astute and pertinent as usual. You should recover fully in time, with God's help. Please, if you have worsening symptoms - persistent headaches, drowsiness, gait difficulty etc. - see your MD or good local hospital for a rescan with MRI. You are probably taking an anticoagulant for your pulmonary condition, and re-imaging is appropriate when or if you have these or other concerning brain symptoms. All the best to you!

Should definitely be an interesting year!

We are praying for you today as you get back on the air. Hopefully you won't be seeing any pink elephants floating around! Serious note, hyperbaric oxygen therapy has been found to be successful in healing after a concussion. You may want to check it out with you doctor. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24260334/ .

Eric,

1000 homes and an untold amount of businesses (large and small destroyed) in Boulder, Co.

Thankfully there appears to be no loss of life.

But...when have you ever heard of something like this before. Given that Boulder is heavily democratic, where is the President...not a word that I have heard. Boulder and surrounding areas , should be declared as a National Disaster Area ASAP. To the folks in D.C. it is a non-event but to the people of the U.S.A. it is significant. Someone needs to wake up the occupants in the White House!

Regards,

Phil Nace

Just a 'heads up', Erick. Be sure you've had the double shingles shot because a young friend of ours accidentally hit himself in the head with a golf club and he developed shingles!!! I read shingles can be triggered by stress and a physical trauma. That may not be true, but I wouldn't take any chances by not having the shot even though you are young....this kid is in his 30s. He is absolutely miserable and doesn't seem to be improving very quickly.

Sucks you burned a good brisket. I have a couple ThermoWorks DOTs on hand as a backup for my RecTec’s probes. The DOT is inexpensive insurance when you are trying to nail internal temps.

Not an advertisement. Just wanted to share a tip from a fellow smoked meat lover.

Get better soon, Sir!
