Erick, I have to admit I see saw from one day to the next with thinking this thing is real to its over blown. Thanks to you, I continue to lead where I can by example and I wear my mask even when my mind is telling me I’m stupid. So maybe I have at least a little Samaritan in me because I wear my mask thinking of folks like your wife. Thanks for your always thoughtful perspective that I will use!

On Herman, I always loved his outlook in THREES (most notable as you mentioned his 9-9-9 plan). I’m extremely confident that he’s enjoying his new THREE tonight...The Father, The Son and the Holy Ghost!

May God continue to bless and be with you and your Fam!

Brad

I was saddened to hear about Herman. I campaigned for him when he ran for Senate here in Georgia and was a supporter for his run for president. I met him a couple times and shook his hand. He was so optimistic and friendly. He will always be considered a friend and my heart aches for his family. May his memory be eternal!

I was sad to see new of Herman Cain's passing. Heaven is sure taking a lot of souls these days; we who are left need to step up our game.

Good luck, Erick. People are very concerned with their rights, which is fair, but their responsibilities to others are being neglected. We've resigned ourselves to self-isolating until the virus is under control, but every trip to the grocery story is worrying. I'm praying that you and your family are safe and well.

Eric - I read the second story about school, your wife’s diagnosis of lung cancer, etc and my heart and prayers will go with you and your family going forward.

My recommendation is to home school at least for this term. There are great online home schools now (Kolbe Academy online, K12 online, among others) and your kids will actually find that even though may grumble at first, they are usually done with their school work in about the half the time of regular school, they end up having a lot more free time and a lot more independent learning opportunities. Our 2 oldest we put through private parochial school and our youngest 3 we homeschooled through Kolbe. We are emotionally much closer to our younger 3 because of the homeschool environment. And all 3 are straight A students in college.

Just my 2 cents....

Thanks, Erick. I will truly miss Herman.

As a physician who previously led a US Army team of specialists for disaster relief, to including bioterrorism (think man-made epidemic), I must emphasize how important it is to take this pandemic seriously. As a longtime conservative, I get all the blogs daily. I am almost horrified to see some of the dead-stupid chatter coming from the right that discounts the seriousness of this disease. Some of this stuff is reckless, alleging conspiratorial reasons for wearing masks, closing schools and social distancing. Our small hospital in South Georgia has been almost overrun with desperately ill Covid-19 victims. The first death in our community several months ago was our 77 year-old mayor. You are doing right by your family and I will pray for them, especially your wife. I commend you for this timely and clear-minded post.

I am so saddened by the loss of Herman Cain. I'm glad he got you into radio Erick. Prayers and blessings to you, your wife and kids. You have every reason to err on the side of caution with your family and school. COVID19 is a season, a bad season, but it won't last (at this level at least) forever. Every 6 months brings more knowledge and hope. Keep doing the things you are doing to stay safe. Everyone laughed at Noah too. 😁
