I am really enjoying going back again and re-watching what I heard live, and picking up those I missed. I'm glad these are all here to review at my leisure.
Chip Roy continues to impress me as a person very guided by principles, yet able to be pragmatic where its required rather than perform failure theater for the camera. I'd love to see and outline of what could be done to bring us back to sanity. Chip and Eric are both correct. Item one of a Republican agenda should be to put restrictions on size and scope of govt. I'd love to see a council of the states to review Federal overreach as limits were stated in the constitution, and where issues are found, they are returned to the states.
Also limits on both spending and tax cuts. Neither can happen unless they are at least neutral to the debt. Make the rules on tax cuts be honestly assessed for their impact to economic growth. Rollout of spending or tax cuts should be iterative and tied to the claims being realized. No economic growth, the next iteration of spending or tax cut does not happen until its realized.
Then make congress do its job. Reign in executive orders. A judicial review for whether the existing laws as well as the constitution give authority for that order. Also clarify the laws to remove the wiggle room as Chevron Deference has been struck down.
...and make circumventing this hard. Something like 2/3 house and senate. To override or alter the rules.
All this kind of thing or else we will need a Javier Milei of our own. Chip may fit that bill.
Erick, you should reach out to Chip Roy and find out what he thinks about Mr. Trump's new tax policy, you know, the one where Social Security is no longer taxed. I don't think it is "paid for" either. Asking for a friend.
The Gathering serves a very important need for our political process and I congratulate Erick for another great event. I was able to attend the very first one and have been impressed with its evolution over the years. More civil discourse in complete sentences is the best way to inform us and allow us to make sound choices at the ballot box.
Fascinating presentation by Lucci and Cavanaugh on China’s state strategy in the US. Just as scary is the amount of infrastructure investment in South America. Many of these countries are desperate for economic development and China is happy to play their part in critical categories like telecom, ports of entry and energy. They are quietly moving in to the Americas through the back door.
It was fantastic, lots of great content and discussions from people I was also unaware of, doing the work on behalf of so many important organizations. Thank you Erick, for bringing this all together.
I hope next year you'll be able to get Byron Donalds there. A rising star with intelligence and a great way of making people feel comfortable with him when he speaks.
Please take some advice from a professional videographer: NEVER have a scrolling background behind your speakers at shoulder level. Watching your speakers is akin to riding on a ship, with the shoreline sliding past. Disconcerting, tiring, dizzying at times.
Granted, that's true. The media is going to do everything they can to put out the perception of massive support for Kamala. But what we're up against is this: Many people who weren't going to vote for Biden will, in fact, come out to vote for Harris. And Kennedy had a significant amount of support, and now that's all but vanished. Meanwhile, the GOP appears to be milquetoast and mealy-mouthed, as usual.

hope there is another one. I fear there will not be if Harris wins though.
Why would there not be another one? Seems to me like the need would be even greater.
Because either the world will descend into war or the dems will gain so much power they censor conservative media.
Damn

Some good content here, Erick.

Yes. I had to close my eyes when I watched. Grateful Erick, but yes, in the future, no scrolling background please.
I'm not sure any of it matters. The GOP is on-track to lose in November.
On track but not definite. Remember the Hillary Landslide.
If anything this needs to motivate republicans to go out and vote.
I maintain her support is not as widespread as it seems.

Putting "out the perception of massive support for Kamala" could backfire and lead to some not bothering to vote.
Yes, they are.
and never hold potus again
Exactly.
