I too am scared of the Democrat Party: no fear of God. We Republicans are not much better. Although we sincerely oppose abortion and the ordering of our lives by a totalitarian government, there is not the knowledge of the Bible among the public that was present in Lincoln's time, or even in the WWII generation. God may judge us severely, to purify His church, but He has promised not to forsake those who truly believe in the Lord Jesus.

On a more immediate note, close to one million mail-in ballots have been cast in the 5 county area that includes Philadelphia -- 475,000 in the city of Philly alone. My local blog tonight offered that if you messed up your first mail-in ballot, you can make a new one! Corruption in Philly should get national attention, especially if the electoral college count is close!

It is the best of times . . . (Realignment); It is the worst of times . . .???

But hey, maybe there's a lesson behind this dark cloud.

The Electoral college projects some wacky distortions on our "We the People" scenario.

Maybe, in the next four years, we should find a way to dispose of this Electoral relic of a bygone age.

Then the state-by-state hanging chads and Supreme Court interventions could be set aside for simple majority democracy.

Erick, I is  quite possible to assume that a large part of the seniors to Trump movement is due to Covid-scare and this group being connected to the world through an anti-Trump MS-Media, as at least one MSNBC elderly relative of mine is. It is hard to believe seniors didn't know Trump's moral flaws before the 2016 election, but it is not hard to imagine that given a 24/7 media onslaught they believe Trump is personally responsible for 200K Covid deaths. Seniors also lived through Bill Clinton's term so they knew about the Clinton's negative, whereas the MSM presents Biden as a 1970 era Democrat, which is not what the same set of policies he and today's Democrats support. Not everything is about Trump's tweets, although the MSM would have everybody believe that, and that may be true if one only hears about his tweets taken out of context (which is common practice for Trump's critics).

In a AZ interview, Ted Cruz described the recent shift in voters with rural Democrats turning red and suburban Republicans turning blue. The hidden factor may be blacks and Hispanics turning red. I think anybody who claims they know for sure the magnitude of these shifts is blowing smoke. An interesting question about Trump rallies is whether they are like the tip of the iceberg with an even more massive surface lying invisible underneath. For example I think there are a lot of Trump supporters (like myself) who have never gone to a rally and rally stats regularly report a significant percentage of Democrats and attendees who didn't vote in 2016. The Republican establishment has always focused on winning suburbs. The disadvantage to that suburban women are generally prone to being frightened by a partisan media's propaganda about Handmaid's-Tale abortion restrictions, climate change, gun violence, and Trump putting children in cages. To keep these women in the coalition, Republicans always promise to do things like defunding Planned Parenthood, but never do. In contrast, Trump is not going to let suburban RINO's impacted by Democratic fear-mongering set the GOP agenda, and he is willing to trade groups of voters, win or lose.

Although there are legitimate issues with Trump's moral flaws (past and present), there is also an issue of whether some segment of the anti-Trump movement is making judgments based on the media's worse-than-Hitler-Trump versus the real-Trump. There is no doubt that Trump has filled his administration with Christians such as Mike Pence , Mike Pompeo, Ben Carson, Betsy DeVos and Russell Vought,  and that Trump gets along well with Christians in the House Freedom Caucus and a diverse set of Senators including Cruz, Graham, Paul and McConnell. There are Christians like John Piper who have conscience objections to Trump, but there are also respected Christian's like Wayne Grudem ( https://www.christianpost.com/voice/a-response-to-my-friend-john-piper-about-voting-for-trump.html ) who believe one has to compare apples with apples rather than comparing Trump with some ideal alternative candidate that does not exist.

Erick - do you think a lot of the alignment towards trump is explained by religious background or worldview? For example, where many latinos and African American voters who had a Christian background, or at least a Christian worldview could vote for the democratic Party, now that option is becoming a lot less palatable?

True, the country won't end. But if the Dems do the things they're talking about (expanding the SCOTUS, statehood for PR & DC, killing the filibuster, open borders, public option / Medicare for all) we won't recognize it any more. It'll be like a Rembrandt painting that's been wiped down with paint thinner.

I find it interesting, yea, fascinating, that people who know Scripture and (supposedly) have a connection to or a relationship with The Almighty, still cannot see the bigger picture, the Grand Design of what’s REALLY going on. From my days as a former Atheist until now (as a Believer), the things I read or hear that are dubious or dark, come from Christians. I’m just wondering whether Christians, especially, will ever truly open their eyes to see the actual goings-on of world events, and the whys and the wherefores concerning such as based on Scripture. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see.

For believers, your conclusions are true. For non believers, they’re wacky. Yet intellectually, the are the most viable, sane option that promotes equilibrium. Ockham’s Razor.

I would also like to say that I am ashamed and embarrassed with the way this country has treated God over the last decade or more. He gave us the best country in the world and all we have done is selfishly taken him out of our lives. Don't you think he is getting tired of all our arrogance. We are not in control, He is. And all He ever wanted was for us to love our neighbors as ourselves.

I totally agree that God's Will, will be done.

I just wonder about the accuracy of the polls, when you see HUGE crowds for every single one of the rally's that President Trump has put together...not to mention all of the spontaneous event that have been held around the country.

God knows and God's got it....regardless of the outcome we must pray for this nation!!

I do trust in God, but I am so scared what will happen In a Biden administration. I don't believe that Joe Biden will last 60 days if he is elected. I believe that was the Democrats plan all along. Has anyone read Ms. Harris's latest tweet?

I live in San Antonio. I know plenty of Hispanic Trump voters 😂 Some last election but a lot of the Trump voters are religious. I know plenty of Hispanic Biden voters.

However I thin Trumps attitude and talk on immigration keeps him from some of the votes same with rhetoric when it comes to African Americans. Biden is still going to get majority of minority votes. I think Seniors just may be a Trump thing

I do want to say this those who are so anti immigration need to understand that a lot of the people coming are Christians from Christian countries they could be natural allies if folks let them.
