Trump had a bad debate. That’s the pretty universal consensus.
But I keep coming back to the very first question of the debate. It is the most important question and, with over 65 million Americans watching, Kamala Harris could not and would not answer it.
Everyone already has their opinion made up about Trump and a majority of Americans both do not like him and prefer his administration to the Biden-Harris Administration.
In her non-answer, Kamala Harris admitted people are hurting, housing is too scarce, and prices are too high. But she did nothing to distance herself from the administration Americans blame for it, the Biden-Harris Administration.
Yes, Trump should have started with and not just ended with his line that she’s been there for three and a half years. But she gave voters who are hungry for answers a word salad to start the night and he reminded voters that she’s been there this whole time.
People don’t like Trump, but they don’t blame him for what ails them. They blame the Biden-Harris Administration. Her non-answer could focus that anger on her.
Angry people do not preserve the status quo of which she is a part. Angry people turn on the incumbents.
Trump needs more focus and discipline and I’m not sure he is capable of that. But the message for him is there in her inability to answer a very simple question.
This entire campaign for Trump is a simple campaign strategy that his Developer DNA won’t let him deliver. He’s trying to bully himself to success and is dancing to the wrong music, being social media. A high schooler from the debate team could have won that debate. And he thinks he won! He is deaf to coaching and always has been. I’m still voting for him bc I believe in more of his policies than not.
I remember when I started my firm in 2008. Luckily I had strong credit and some large credit lines. We obtained used furniture and put the rest on credit cards. I can tell you, and anyone who has actually run a business knows, that it's all about cash flow. If you can't pay your bills (which, we were blessed to be able to do), no amount of tax credits 'next year' would have helped. Reduce startup costs and/or get out of our way- that's what the government should do, not give away someone else's money!
