Who would ever defend this monster? I manage my husband's law office and can't imagine representing this guy. And who would ever release this guy or anyone like him. There must be a community outcry!
I sure do appreciate your political position. My beliefs are just slightly to the right of Barry Goldwater. So, I am uncomfortable most of the time. Keep up the good work. Earl F. Hawkins
My email went to the only contact, Webmaster. The subject line listed the members of the Board plus Peter Mallory. I may be bad in my math, but seven years served of a thousand year sentence is the same as a seven year sentence (what he actually served) with a release after two weeks. The verbiage which lauds them on the landing page of the Pardons and Paroles Board, now condemns them.
"Their collective experience and commitment to criminal justice ideals keep Georgia's Board continually attuned to long-term as well as short-term public-safety solutions."
Erick, would you be willing to partner with the AFA American Family Association? I am not sure of their membership base numbers but I would be willing to believe that Don Wildmon would totally back this call out of the board and send a call to action to their members and others.
I am seeing red. I just fired off an email to the Board relating my disgust at their actions! Please let me know about the Action Alert as I will bombard the powers that be.
“Someone” approached the Georgia State Board Of Pardons and Paroles to release this criminal. I need a name or names. We also need the names on the Board who approved this.
In another ironic note, when you click on the name James W. Mills, you learn that he was "Christian Coalition Legislator of the Year" in 2001. But the irony doesn't stop there. He is the recipient of the “Pro-Life Hero” award from the Georgia Right to Life organization and in 2007 was named the Pro-Life Hero Legislator by the Justice Foundation.
But wait--there's more: He's another one active in his local church, has led mission trips abroad, and in 1990 earned a Master's degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary--one of the most conservative Baptist seminaries. In his Parole Board action related to Peter Mallory, he has betrayed that institution, his church, and his Lord.
Since I do not live in Georgia, but like any person living on the planet am completely thrown to the floor by this decision, could someone please help me know what to do? What can I, as a non-Georgian, DO? I don't even KNOW anyone who lives in Georgia--other than Erick.
Not that you need to know (does plausible deniability work here?), but here is the email to the Board:
The Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles:
So as not to overburden you with undue verbiage and given your most recent decision regarding Peter Mallory, I must demand the Pardon & Parole Board’s complete and total resignation.
The decision to parole someone who committed such egregious crimes against our society and humanity as the abuse of children should cause each member of the board to be overwhelmed with deep and abiding shame.
Since I do not personally know any of those serving on the Board, I cannot, ethically, ascribe to them their motives for doing such a despicable act. So, I will merely judge the action rather than the motives.
The action is unconscionable and demonstrates the complete unsuitability for any of those on the Board who approved this decision to continue to serve on the Board. Even if there were members who disagreed with this action taken and yet they failed to publicly decry this action, they also should resign for no other reason than the lack of character to do what is right.
Scripture is very clear; all people have sinned. Yet there are some sins which carry additional punishment by society in the present, earthly realm. While all sin is abhorrent to God, there are sins which carry greater punishment than others because of their depravity. Child pornagraphy and exploitation is one such sin. Even Jesus referred those who harm “the least of these” (referring to the children in His audience then) to be executed in a horrible manner in order to demonstrate the severity of the horrible sin.
I will also be making my desires for the Board’s resignation known to the Governor’s office.
My email went out first to the Chairman of the Board of Pardon and Parole, a Mr. Terry E Barnard. In the subject line I asked that the message be forwarded directly to him, since the only email address was: victim.services@pap.ga.gov --a general mailbox, not Barnard's email. Perhaps only a 50-50 chance it will actually reach Barnard or the other Board members.
Pastor, when I read a sorry outcome such as this by the Parole Board, and think of the children scarred for a lifetime, I always recall where [Matthew 18:10] our Lord said, referring to children, "...for I say to you that in Heaven their angels do always behold the face of My Father who is in Heaven.." and I weep at the thought.
I truly appreciate your comments! One of the hallmarks of maturity is the ability to understand where one's actions will lead--to extrapolate from where we are, what we're doing and the outcomes of those actions. We live in such an egocentric world of "navel-gazers" (a WWII era term), they have no considerations beyond their immediate feelings......you've been a great blessing brother!
Has an Action Alert been sent out? I want to add my name in opposition to this outrage.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Erick.
He is obviously wealthy and well connected. I hope whoever sold his freedom chokes to death on the profits.

Your thoughts?
Please tell us what we can do.

AMEN. Awaiting the Action Alert.

Thank you. If I can figure out how to email them, even though I don't live in Georgia, you've given me inspiration for my own message to them.
I've learned over my lifetime--one can always count on a Baptist pastor to come forth with a Word from the Word. <3
Click the link Erick shared. Go down to "Contact" and choose "Email!" Thank you!
THANK YOU. Will do.
I thought I'd lost my capacity to be appalled by any politician. Apparently not. Thank you, and will share.
I'm doing my part to be vocal! I'm outraged! Heartbreaking and gut-wrenching. Bad precedent.
Will you be sending out one of your Action Alerts with links to contract the Governor, Lt. Governor and Speaker of the House?
I plan on it.
Send it.
That will, at least, give me something constructive to do.
