Recognizing I’m in the minority here, I don’t think Kamala Harris is a good candidate, and I think Democrats will come to regret Joe Biden's departure from the race.
Biden and Trump have both run and won presidential campaigns. Kamala Harris only ran one into the ground.
The Trump campaign wants to paint Harris as weird and, frankly, a candidate whose favorite pizza topping is anchovies is rather an American psycho. I bet she has a great business card.
But Harris isn’t just weird. She’s annoying. Her defenses will be that all criticisms are sexism and racism, but the actual reality is Harris comes across as dad’s new girlfriend trying hard to be cool to the teenagers. It’s awkward every time.
She’s not good on the campaign trail. Her public policy positions are too far left for most Americans. She approaches people by belittling them and talking down to them.
I think she’s a lousy candidate.
For the next two weeks, Democrats will be proverbially humping her leg and saying Republicans like me are just worried, deflecting, and spinning. But I would not be surprised if, in a month, Democrats are wondering how they can toss Harris for someone else.
She can reintroduce herself a million more times, but every time she does, she comes off as unlikable and artificial.
Harris is not a good candidate and the Democrats would have been better off sticking with Biden instead of shoving him out the window and praising his heroism for falling with grace into political splatter.
I totally agree with your statement, but - and I'll be blasted for this - unless President Trump starts focusing on the future, and telling the American public on what he will be doing over the next four years - AND HOW he will be doing this, he will blow this election. He needs to get out of the past, as it's that - the past. Move forward and move forward now.
"... dad's new girlfriend trying hard to be cool to the teenagers."
Perfect!
