Well should he get confirmed that doesn't mean he can't be removed by Trump or pressured to not go back on his pledges. Radical ideas can bring about real common sense solutions, such as if you receive taxpayer funding you need to give taxpayers a percentage back to them possibly in a fund for elderly & low income folks. No need to seize patents....
Many have said that no spouse agrees with his or her spouse all the time. No conservative will agree with Trump all the time. No liberal will disagree with Trump all the time. The beauty of our system of government is checks and balances, and they extend to each of us. Towns, cities, counties, states, and branches of government all check and balances each other. Trump will shake up many of them, and in time, balance will check the most troubling of them.
For the 4th time: pay attention to Senator Hawley from MO. See the link below about his meeting with RFK.
I'm not MAGA, but Trump is trying to shake up the Federal bureaucracy and to say RFK is in the pocket of an abortion donor is just hyperbole. I've been in the pro-life movement for over 30 years now in vast number of roles...and I have seen people see the light. RFK in my mind deserves a chance. I think he is perusable. Warren from MA will attack him for not being pro-abortion enough. The hearings will tell the tale.
Just as Pam Biondi was waiting in the wings after Gaetz crashed and burned, so too there must be someone to step in when Kennedy fails confirmation. WHEN. Trumps payback for Kennedy's support cannot possibly mean a guarantee. Kennedy has extreme progressive beliefs. But the most appalling for me are his stance on vaccines and late term abortion. Is he the only one who can take on big pharma and fight battles? No, of course not. So, let's see who sweeps in to save the day.
Ahh, but not a single conservative has stepped up and said they would do any of the things Kennedy is focused on doing. And a heck of a lot of us, having read his book among other things, are firmly behind his position on vaccines. As far as I can tell most of the political class who are opposed to him, are in the pockets of food and pharma.
All Christians: please be praying that RFK JR be rejected-and that God raise up a common sense , pro-life conservative for the position! Every time I see him in a group of conservatives, he looks awkward and uncomfortable-like an endangered fish out of water. One of these things doesn’t belong here!
Lord I thank you in advance for your continued sovereign mercy on our nation
Anyone believeing that RFK Jr will stand up to "big money" in politics and protect you from ONE segment of corporate America (big pharma) because he's SO concerned about the health of us all, needs to touch some grass, as EE is fond of saying. RFK Jr is a cabinet nominee because he helped Donald Trump get elected, and DT is not as concerned with morals or principles as he is with "winning". I pray to God that the Senate will reject this liberal, who just happens to have nice pecs and biceps but has no regard for the muscles of unborn babies. Even some of these comments show the underlying problem in America; namely, that if someone in Washington will just fix MY problem (e.g. high prescription costs, high insurance premiums, underperforming public schools, etc.), then damn the other stuff my D.C. savior believes/promotes, "I'm for him!" Again, I voted for DT, but I still hate the fact that he's the face of the Republican party, because he'll always surround himself with the RFK's of the world who will help him "win". If Chuck Schumer were to say something nice about DT, he'd probably get a cabinet node too. Good grief.
I’m on the fence regarding RFK jr. A number of health issues he raises are valid and are an attempt to get at the root of our health “care” problems. You can see from the data, the health of Americans has drastically declined since the early 1970s and the cost of healthcare has drastically increased.
Healthcare has gone from 7% of GDP in 1970 to 17% to 18% of GDP currently.
Obesity, has either doubled or tripled (depending on your source) since 1970. A number of metabolic syndrome issues contribute to obesity and causes long term chronic health conditions. RFK jr points out that changes in diet from 1970s to now contribute to this change in obesity and consequently the cost of healthcare. Of course, this makes very powerful interests uncomfortable, and he same interests that benefit from selling highly processed “food like” products to the public.
I don't know anyone else who will take on Big Pharma like Kennedy will. It needs to happen. We also need someone to make an issue out of the chronic ill health and obesity of Americans. I have read through the list of Kennedy's environmental lawsuits, and I agreed with most of them! I am vigorously pro-life, but to get the position, the Senate may make him promise some things in that regard.
I disagree with quite a few things regarding Kennedy but on the other hand, he definitely has some major good going on. Nutritional foods today are half what they were before WWII. Our food today is choked full of toxins and our medications are as bad if not worse.
I don't care how much money is thrown into cancer research, there will NEVER be a cure because Cancer is a "money maker" for Big Pharma, along with Diabetes and heart disease.
I don't trust Kennedy and yet I would love to see what he can get done with Big Pharma!
Those concerned about the NVDA loss yesterday would do well to ignore those who are seeing it as a "Sputnik Moment" - also, ignore those who are saying they are just out and out lying. The truth is likely in the middle of those two extremes.
i appreciate your concern/focus on abortion, Erick, and i think you've presented a reasonably balanced pro/con of DJTs first week. Interesting that you mentioned the Houti's attacks in the Red Sea. If the Gaza cease-fire fails and Houti's resume their attacks, i'm guessing there will be ROE changes that will allow USN to respond (more) forcefully. If so, i think 'hell will be paid.'
The DeepSeek scare is just more CCP propaganda designed to make Trump squirm. It won’t work. We’ll discover as much in the days and weeks ahead. As for week one+ of Trump, you may not agree with everything but the man actually does what he says he’s going to do. As for the opposition, anyone that supported the Biden cognitive decline coverup should be immediately be tuned out when it comes to policy discussions. It really is that simple.
You need to add Kash Patel to that list you’re opposed to if you haven’t already.

Trump will be watching RFK, Jr.
I think RFK,Jr. crazy ideals might be correct on a few things - like Corn Syrup and Diabetes.
The White House will keep him on a short leash.
I don't like RFK, JR. I don't trust him one bit.

Kennedy I agree with whole-heartedly. But why Gabbard?
