It matters. Trump planned it.

An attempted overthrow of the United States is a historical embarrassment. Try all you want, you will not be able to discount it’s significance. The more you try, the more you look complicit.

The fact that they've tapped a television executive to ensure it is perceived correctly is the clearest bit of evidence that they have no intention of seeking the truth on this subject. I have zero intention of listening to anyone who is "outraged" about January sixth when they weren't outraged about the riots leading up to the 2020 elections. January sixth was just a "mostly peaceful insurrection" after all, right?

I'm a little older than you Erick, I was 14 when we got to sing "Jail to the Chief" about Richard Nixon. At the time I thought he was the most corrupt president we could possibly have in the modern era - boy was I wrong. Even Nixon loved this country more than the average Republican quisling or Trump aide these days. In 1960 there was real evidence of real vote rigging by the Democrat Machine in Chicago, that played chicken with the downstate machines to see who had to manufacture the most votes, and the Johnson Machine in Texas that got thousands of votes in alphabetical order in some counties. Nixon could have challenged the outcome, but he believed American democracy was more important than one man's ego, and that we had to set an example for the newly independent countries in the third world rather than encouraging them to go communist. If you would just say that on your show between all your red meat for your Trumpkin audience I would be relieved.

The result of this NBC poll vis a vis the previous poll done shortly after January 6 brings home the point that the time for action was January 7. It was at that point that Republicans and Democrats should have come together to impeach, convict and remove Donald Trump from office.

Information that's come out subsequent to January 6; the conspiracy with James Eastman to which Donald Trump was a party being the most damning, to thwart the peaceful transfer of power reinforces how correct that action would have been.

Had they done so, we would all be better off today, politically.

I do hope that among those who "should be punished" are people like Ray Epps who has miraculously escaped any consequences. And the people who have been rounded up, some locked up for TWO YEARS have surely been punished enough. This was certainly an event that should never have happened. But it was a kids birthday party compared to the rioting that occurred for years with the complete approval of the democrat party. It was no more a threat to democracy than is "The Daily Wire", which is now also being called a threat to democracy. I am tired of even hearing about it.

How many of those who cry, "We need to move on!" instead of caring about J6...

refuse to move on from 2020?

Only the DC crowd and a handful of their rabid acolytes care. The TV show is just going to piss more people off.

I am trying so hard to care, I am. But we learned that "mostly peaceful" protests are the new gold standard for political expression. Based on that standard, January 6 was par for the course.

Punish those that broke the law, and that is being done. But stop trying to make it into a bigger event than most Americans know it was.

Next to slavery, the 1/6 attempted overthrow of the United States government incited by Donald Trump is the greatest shame of the nation. How dare anyone minimize the event or the responsibility for it! Citizens who love the US will never forget it or try and rationalize it. Shame on you Mr. Erickson!

Yep. Paying 'zero' attention to this. They lost me when they were perfectly fine with our cities being torn apart; but were outraged about this. Truth - should have been outraged about both. This isn't about finding the truth. This about attempting to brand one party as 'evil'. And it will not work.

My youngest son, who makes pretty good money for his age, as does his wife, also elected to have a family young. They still have one of three in diapers. He looked at me the other day and told me that his 2015 Ford F-150 cost $89.10 to fill up. That's what he notices.

Boy's two best friends and God Father's to his children are African American. Another friend is gay. He tries very hard to see other's points of view. With that said, what he cares about right now is cost of living. It is, by far, at the top of the list of his concerns.

Biden's crew has no shot at getting his vote. My oldest is a libertarian. Biden's crew has no shot at getting his vote. Or their suburban wives.

This is spot-on. Most politicians overplay their hands and create unintended backlashes. They’re perennially Fonzy jumping the shark. And, the only people willing to watch this third attempt to impeach DJT will be DC insiders and complete whack jobs on both sides. Tom Greene

The party that condoned rioting two summers ago by their Brown/Black shirts is now indignant about people invading their offices. Those who vandalized offices should be punished, not those posing for selfies with the capital police.

There are stories of people being incarcerated under third world conditions. Any truth to this?

There are so many questions about J6 that will never be answered. Right off, I want to be clear that I did not support the stupidity of the event. However, I know people that went and their sole purpose was to march and show their support for Trump. Entering the capitol was never part of their plans and they did not enter. They had no grand ideas of turning over an election. The confusing parts are: why did guards hold the doors open for these "insurgents". Was silly photo ops wearing horns and clown make-up part of the plan to take over the government. While Ray Epps has apparently been cleared of wrong doing He is on multiple films strongly encouraging people to enter the capitol even though he never did. To me it smells like the Whitmer kidnapping hoax using informants. With all of the shenanigans the FBI has been involved in lately it is hard for me to not think that they had some role in setting up and orchestrating the debacle. The entire thing smells. There is a lot more to this than what the press is releasing.

[The Summer of violence 2020] should matter and was wrong, bad for democracy, and has inspired a fringe set of conspiracists who deny anything bad happened and who made the villains the good guys.

The people "investing" January 6th are not serious people. The people that care that I don't care the way they do are not upset about January 6th, they are upset that I don't care the way they do. I am doing it wrong, I am just ignorant, I just don't know the [their] truth. Except I do, and I reject it and them.

The econony is the number one topic. But we must remember that the majority of Americans get their news and information from NBC, CBS, ABC. All they will hear is Dem good , GOP bad. Only hope the GOP can run good campains that focus on what really matters to the oridinary citizen.
