The Biden-Harris Administration is more and more becoming the Brandon-Meyer Administration. I am flabbergasted by how bad they are at this.
There’s no need to belabor the points here.
Gas prices are going up. They are a global phenomenon, but the Biden Administration has added to the costs through regulation, pipeline cutbacks, and federal land lease expirations. To claim the President can do nothing is to suggest the President is incapable of negotiation, diplomacy, and basic clear thinking on the issue. Americans want a President who can do something, not say, “Not my fault.”
Inflationary pressures keep getting worse. Even outlets like the New York Times have noted dumping money into the economy overheats it. For the Biden Administration to keep saying the Build Back Better plan’s spending spree will cost nothing and not cause inflation makes the Administration come across as delusional. In fact, it is delusional thinking made worse by Team Biden saying it isn’t really their fault and it is transitory.
The supply chain keeps getting worse. Saltines are a small thing, I realize. But this weekend I had two sick kids and needed saltines. My local grocery store was out, except for the whole wheat and the ones with unsalted tops. No one ever buys those. The store hasn’t had them in weeks. The nearest Kroger was also out. The local Ingles had half boxes. Even the generic store brands were gone. Saltines are not the only issue. Grocery stores across America still have shortages of various products and the holidays are upon us.
That also impacts Christmas gift shopping. New and used cars are expensive and often not available. Toys are in short supply. I’m allergic to real trees and our well-used fake tree had to be tossed last year. I ordered a new one that will last for years, but it won’t show up till the week of Christmas. The ones in the stores that don’t last long cost way more than they used to.
Blaming the supply chain on the unvaccinated does not compute for anyone anymore. The backed-up ships speak for themselves. The trucking regulations speak for themselves. The Biden Administration’s inability to understand any of this and instead, again, say it isn’t their fault isn’t helping.
The virus and vaccines themselves are a problem. They aren’t going to get to 100% vaccination rates no matter how much they push. Masks, travel, the bullying of progressives scared of their own shadow, and the Administration’s willingness to blame everything on the virus has gone too far. People are ready to move on and the Biden Administration has provided no path forward. The vaccine’s waning immunity has impacted people’s confidence. The press reporting has been so clickbaity and driven by horror stories that the American conscience has been shaken on the matter.
Afghanistan showed everyone how inept the Administration is. All these issues above reinforce it. As Democrats learned in Virginia, voters have moved past Trump even if the base of the Democratic Party and the press have not. In fact, a lot of recent polling shows Trump would beat Biden because voters can't imagine Trump being more incompetent than Biden.
On top of it all, the prominent voices in the press so often cited, quoted, and relied on seem as equally out to lunch as the Biden Administration. Reporters and editors who push the “inflation is really good for you” and “stop spending so much” lines are disconnected from the reality of the middle class. The press is fostering more distrust generally. Too many of the reporters reporting seem as dismissive of people’s concerns as the Biden Administration does. The COVID reporting remains hysterical and even reporting on vaccines tends to focus on the rare worst-case scenarios.
At this point, it is not a fixable problem for Biden or the Democrats. We have arrived at the holidays. People will experience inflation and shortages in very real ways even as they tune out the news. Perceptions will harden around kitchen tables as families gather and express shared frustrations about the economy, school, and more.
Then, the midterms…
IMO, you should've had one more brief sentence about a jubilant Jimmy Carter having lived long enough to see him elevated to THIRD worst president in American history.
They can’t be out of office soon enough. Pitiful, woefully inadequate, malfeasant, negligent, tone deaf and incompetent. I could open the Thesaurus and provide many more terms to describe how awful this crowd is. How will we endure three more years of this scam?
