I ask you guys to help a family take care of their Thanksgiving meal every year. It’s that time again. Last year, in 24 hours, y’all contributed just under $200,000.00.
Each year, I partner with Hungry For a Day to provide Thanksgiving meals for families in need. This year, the cost of a Thanksgiving meal for four is up over 30% from last year, and last year was up 16% from the year before. It is getting expensive.
Most notably, this year, Hungry For a Day is helping coast to coast.
Many of you are affected by the cost of living increases and inflation as well. So I know not everyone can step up and help.
But if you can, every $40 will feed a family of four. Across the nation, Hungry For a Day partners with food banks to ensure families in need get a turkey with sides like macaroni and cheese and sweet potatoes. Some areas provide smoked turkeys so the families do not have to do any cooking. Some provide smoked, cured hams for those living in shelters without kitchens. In areas with large Hispanic populations, they provide tortillas instead of rolls.
It’s a great opportunity to help other Americans have a real Thanksgiving meal.
If you can, please go to http://erickthanksgiving.com and contribute. 100% of your donation goes to providing food, and 100% of your donation is tax-deductible.
Every $40 provides food for a family of four.
Thanks so much.
Can’t commit as much as last year and due to a change in financial situations I too am struggling to get a daily meal on the table let alone thanksgiving. But I will still contribute what I can.
