One question that I've not seen asked/answered: after 20 years... how could there be 75,000 Taliban members? Weren't we supposed to be over there destroying them?

And the Soviets claimed that in the USSR, only old grandmothers were Christians; but every 20 years, there were at least the same number of old grandmothers in the pews. There are many more Afghans who are at least sympathetic to what the Taliban is offering than were sympathetic to what we were offering. And fertility matters: The birth rate in that "country" is 30 per 1,000 population, as opposed to our 12 per 1,000. The median age of the Afghan population is 19. Finally, consider this: There are 1.4 billion Muslims. If 1% of them believe as the Taliban does, that is 14 million potential jihadis. Ask Xi Jinping how that extermination of the Uighurs is going.

Look for Taiwan to fall to Xi Jinping (China) by mid 2022. It will go something like this: "Hello Joe, Xi here. Fine and you?" Look Joe we'll be invading Taiwan in the next few days. What's that? Are you kidding Joe? Look at the way you handled the Cuban uprising and ran from Afghanistan with your tail between your legs after that. If you get involved in our takeover we'll simply quit shipping all the pharmaceuticals you've been ordering from us. You think you have an image problem now, Joe? Wait until the bodies start piling up in the streets of America. What's that, Joe? Oh, just say that your treaty to defend Taiwan from us is just some old outdated piece of paper singed by a Republican and you'll be fine. Remind your people that the trade off is that you saved a lot of lives. Say 'hi' to Hunter for me, Talk to you later Joe. Joe? Joe? [must have fallen asleep]"

Congratulations to all those who voted for BIDEN. I hope you are pleased with your decision. Anti Trumpers are complicit in this disaster.

Biden is the POTUS this is on him. Nothing Trump did obliged Biden to do this, just a Obama's stupid agreement with Iran did not obligate Trump.

I am not convinced Trump, who was rightly derided for negotiating with the Taliban, would not have at some point in his second term done this. And arguing if he did it would have gone better is a trap. It's irrelevant.

Biden is POTUS, Biden planned this, Biden told us this wouldn't happen, Biden did this, Biden defended this. No amount of straw can cover that up.

It's a shameful day in America, that is if you're not a liberal. Otherwise it's a great day in America, the racist b1tc# got what's coming to her, and their man delivered it.

If Biden doesn't resign it is further evidence of his cognitive decline and inability to comprehend what he just did.

Well, one thing you can be sure of--perhaps even more than death and taxes--Biden won't be resigning. I really hope I'm wrong.

Yes, I know that means Kamala. She's a much easier target to defeat in 2024. If we still have a country then. If we are still holding elections then.

My prediction of President Kammy by the first anniversary of this administration is looking better and better. Biden was presented to the electorate in 2020 as a moderate who would not do anything outlandish. They lied. He was, as events have proven, beholden to and actually controlled by the radical Marxist left. Now, there are many reports that the AOCs of this world are becoming increasingly disillusioned by him, as he seems to actually believe that he's in charge here. I am more certain than ever that Joe Biden has about outlived his role as Useful Idiot In Chief, and this disaster, added to the border, the economy, and all the rest, will be used by the radicals as the lever which they can use to pry him out of the Oval Office via the 25th Amendment. And don't be so sure that Kammy will be that easy to beat; she still, despite her breathtaking incompetence, is what the radicals want in a President, namely a True Believer. They wouldn't be pushing as hard as they are for HR1, HR4, the $3.5/$5.5 trillion "infrastructure" scam, and all the rest if they were certain that they weren't going to get the boot from voters in 2022.

To quote Obama (which I rarely do), "Don't underestimate Joe's ability to f**k things up."

I'm reminded of Robert Gates saying that Biden's been "wrong on every issue for the last 40 years." That alone makes him the perfect flak catcher for the Democrats as they maneuver to look like the "good guys" for ridding us of him via the 25th Amendment and getting what they really want - President Kammy.

I can't wait to hear Biden blame Trump this afternoon

What drove the decision to leave so precipitously? EVERYONE around this old fool (Biden, that is) told him not to do it this way. If Trump had gone off so heedlessly he would have been declared incompetent, sedated, and locked in a rubber room. The feigned panic of the left under Trump is becoming the real thing under Trump. We're led by a reckless fool! Something must be done!

Were this one of the daily gaffes we see excreted by the cretin in the Oval Office, I might come back with a snarky comment. But the innocent children who aren't old enough to know what's happening, finding their world in worse-than-chaos, cry out for help. But none is coming. My heart breaks. May the Creator, a God of Justice, remove this demented fool as quickly as pleases His will and over-arching plan.

The Creator placed Biden there to begin with…….the question for us to try to understand is why??

He is a demented, old, feckless fool who could be a pedophile.

Teresa, let's drop the stuff about pedophilia; you may be right, but just settling for the part about being an "old, feckless fool" is sufficient for our purposes. That alone makes him the perfect cover for the Obamatrons who are really calling the shots here.

I can't even begin to express my sadness to all the Americans who lost family and friends, to all the military who lives will be affected forever, and to all the Afghan people who trusted us. This administration abandoned them all. And he made fools out of the rest of us. I am a proud to be an American, but right now I'm very ashamed of what this country did.

There seems to be a failure in communication for the last 20 years.

Bush said mission accomplished, Bin Laden was killed under Obama and he essentially said mission accomplished by announcing our plans to leave. Trump set withdrawal in motion. Now Biden does it.

I seem to recall Eric saying, "why are we there?" What is the goal?

This is the firt time I am hearing, "hold the land", and no casualties in the last year. Why didn't our leaders say this, sell this?

Seems like military policy based on public opinion and perception. A lot like what happened with medical police in COVID. We apparently don't have political leaders, we have poll watchers. The tail, the biases media and their activist minions are waging the dog.

Mission Creep: "The gradual broadening of the original objectives of a mission or organization." Bush 41 rejected it in Iraq in 1991. Bush 43 and Obama embraced it in Afghanistan. Trump rejected it, and Biden claims to have done so; he, however, forgot to attach the strings on our departure which would have limited the Taliban's freedom of action. You now see the results of that decision.

Should this really surprise anyone given the way this administration has handled our southern border? It's the same strategy; preach far-left platitudes about how you're handling the situation while brushing aside those pesky facts and photos that verify a human atrocity is taking place.

If someone had written a book of instructions on how to destroy the greatest nation in history, this administration could not have followed it any closer. This is all intentional....every bit of it. Spreading chaos in every direction until the citizens are so weary we throw up our hands and beg for Big Brother to take control. The footage of those Afghans trying to mount the Air Force airplane leaving the airport should be seared into the hearts of every American. We have left people who helped us as sitting ducks who will be tortured and killed. And we will forget it all as we entertain ourselves with TikTok videos, snarky tweets from celebs, and conversations about which overpriced flavor of coffee to order. We as free people should be mortified.

Someone HAS written the book, and it's been the Left's handbook for decades, starting with the "long march through the institutions." No longer the "shining city on a hill." As the Taliban dances demonically in the streets of Kabul, caressing their weapons, we are an embarrassment to our allies and a thing to be mocked by our enemies.

The Democrats did the same to the South Vietnamese government in 1975.

Actually, Republican Gerald Ford was President in 1975.

True, but the structure set up by Republicans to give South Vietnam a fighting chance was abandoned by the Democrats in the wake of Watergate and Nixon's resignation. They cut off all aid to South Vietnam, dooming it to its fate.

It seems almost statistically impossible that the occupants of the key positions in the Biden administration are all absent from the scene during this major catastrophe. Perhaps their embarrassment is the motivation.

Jen Psaki left a auto-reply on her office phone and email. I think it included the phrase "I'll circle back."
