Desantis is always good, especially against lefties. Seems like a good interview. He needs to do more of these.

I’m less willing to fawn over Jake Tapper the way Erick is doing here. Tapper is obviously a man of the left and as a “hard news guy” it should NOT be obvious. Same with CNN generally; give them credit for running a fair interview with a Republican candidate? You mean give them kudos for doing their job? Literally what they are there to do and almost never accomplish? Tapper and CNN are lefties and everyone knows it. Let’s keep it real.

I liked DeSantis in the interview. I failed to see any reference to “lynching” in Jason Al dean’s video. Did I miss it?

"Given how loudly Trump fans are screaming after that interview, they seem to realize what’s happening too." Great observation! Protesting too much has great insights!

I think DeSantis did an excellent job here. He stayed on message, and stayed out of the DEEP end of the social warrior pool for the most part. He addressed issues with the military very well. IF DeSantis can stay on message like this, he will be a formidable candidate for 2024.

DeSantis was simple. We need to build more munitions. We need to build better munitions. We need to recognize that the real threat is China, and we need to arm our friends in the Indo Pacific more than we are arming Ukraine. For about $100 billion (give or take the actual cost of weapons versus other support systems), the US and Nato have destroyed half of Russia's combat capability. We can keep arming Ukraine and let them finish the job (take Crimea from Russia and push them out of Mariupol hopefully). But we also need to quickly ramp up production of more munitions to make China reluctant to invade Taiwan and reassure others we can and will be a difficult advisory for China to overpower. In other words, we need to demonstrate to China they will face the same fate as Russia if they choose conquest over competition on the global stage.

He’s my candidate until the end, whenever that is. I like his smart thinking, straightforward answers and confidence instead of empty bravado and childish grudges. He can do the job and I hope he gets the chance. More people need to hear his message.

This was a well-done interview and DeSantis comported himself well. His answers didn't dodge questions and he was on point with nearly everything he said. He was a little light on the "how" to accomplish some of the things he said he would "do." I'm still a DeSantis guy. No one has said or done anything yet to dissuade me from supporting him.

This is good. I’m exhausted listening topics such as stolen elections, Jan.6th capitol riots and indictments. Can we please move on for the greater good of the country.

Jake Tapper: when you wanted to be a journalist, but ended up working at CNN.

I agree that the interview was top-notch, by both parties. Ron DeSantis may not become #47 but the notion that without him we are stuck with two tired old codgers, both of whom have "issues" really really bad - well, if that happens we are on a path to world irrelevance.

I cannot believe that everyone in the country is not supporting this man. No drama, just a great candidate that believes in this country and its people. Please, we need to get on board and back Governor DeSantis.

Here’s my word on the nomination process. It’s not in the constitution. The GOP can pick or not pick anyone they like. They don’t even need to vote on it.

So if they don’t want trump then don’t let him win. Take him off the ballot. Have super delegates.

The dems did that to Bernie.

The way it’s set up now. Trump will lose and if that happens we all lose. Because the dems getting another 4 years of power will be the end of our republic.

I would not vote for your draft-dodging, gun-grabbing, Schumer donor, lying grifter from Queens, NY at gunpoint.

I would be afraid that if the RNC did that that they would alienate a huge part of republican voters.

Mr.Erickson,

I enjoyed the interview on CNN. Mr. Tapper was doing a good job in probing Governor DeSantis about his ideas and views. Other candidates such as Tim Scott who I like to call Mr. Positive and who I have contributed money to his campaign (I have also contributed to Lucy McBath's campaign and am a supporter of) would do well in an interview with Mr. Tapper. The Republicans would do well to go on CNN and MSNBC to expand their reach and let Americans know of their ideas and vision for the future.

MSNBC would be tough because the host are clearly in the democratic camp. (Morning Joe and Nicole Wallace are just 2 examples with Nicole Wallace wearing a Tinfoil Cap on the evils of Donald Trump).

Speaking of Former President Trump ( I voted for him in 2016) when are going to address the fact that he cannot get a fair trial in New York City on those hush money payments case and the fact that he is almost surely to be convicted on the other 3 cases (2 not charged yet) and will likely be a convicted felon by the time the 2024 conventions start.

The Republicans need to start planning for that eventuality. I for one am tired of the drama and chaos of President Trump. He needs to go away and play golf, getting out of the public eye.

Also, President Biden is having more trouble daily. I pray for God to give him strength and help him. I believe he is having memory issues and I do not want to see him suffer.

I Believe the Democratic Party leadership is aware of this and is making plans behind the scenes for a 2024 replacement. (Governor Newsome, AKA Governor Hairgel and his shadow campaign).

Thank you Mr. Erickson you are doing a great job, Rush would be proud of you.

Praying for your wife and your family (you also)!!!

He said he donated to Lucy Mcbath. That anti white racist who pretends to be a Christian yet supports baby killing. Not worth my time speaking to someone who supports her.

It’s Desantis or bust at this point.

If trump wins the nomination he won’t win the general. The establishment won’t let him. But I get a sense the GOP secretly wants to lose. That’s why they aren’t taking steps to block trump.

They like being in the opposition power. Once they often get power as they did in 2016. They don’t know what to do with it and often fumble themselves.

They had all the power in 16 and didn’t repeal Obamacare as promised.

While the dems can’t wait to get power back and are desperate to do so. The GOP seems more casual to the whole thing.

If they had half the passion that the dems had they’d do better. Instead they sit quietly and expect the world to come to them.
