Democrats have a significant problem with Hispanic voters that Jill Biden’s taco gaffe simply reinforced. When Hillary Clinton ran for President, Democrats couldn’t figure out why Hispanics across the country supported her at lower rates than previous presidents. When Donald Trump won more of the Hispanic vote than expected in 2016 and again in 2020, Democrats justified it because Hispanics come from countries with strong-man style leaders. Democrats are unable to treat Hispanic as anything other than a special interest group instead of treating them as Americans. Take a moment and listen:

Okay, just listened to your clip. I think you might be missing an angle to this. Whether the breakfast taco is "Mexican" is debatable. I would call it "Mexican,' and the Mexican-Americans (who call themselves Mexicans) would probably call breakfast tacos "Mexican," but the people of Mexico would probably disagree. The breakfast taco was invented in San Antonio, though Austin likes to claim credit for it. I think Jill Biden was saying hispanics are as diverse as [insert X invented in San Antonio]. The problem is that breakfast tacos aren't necessarily known for being "diverse." (Aren't they pretty much all made with eggs, cheese, etc.?)
When I was in San Antonio in the mid-1990s, my coworkers would often order breakfast from Taco Cabana. They would order breakfast tacos and I would order "steak fajitas," which were strips of cooked steak wrapped in a tortilla which was wrapped in aluminum foil. I would smother the steak strips in salsa, pile on the jalapenos, and then wrap it back up. (It was amazing and whenever I go to Texas, I hit Taco Cabana for that.)
I've been told that what I was eating was not a "steak fajita" but rather a "taco." Fajitas are Tex-Mex so arguably "American" and "not Mexican," and they are probably the most popular item on a Mexican restaurant's menu. Typically, a restaurant will offer steak, chicken, shrimp, and veggie fajitas. The "veggie fajita" proves that a fajita is anything brought to your table at a Mexican restaurant on a sizzling cast iron skillet. (Spoiler: the kitchen staff places an ice cube underneath your fajitas on the hot skillet to create the beloved steam and sizzle.) However, the original meaning of "fajita" is "little strip," so I would argue that my Taco Cabana "steak fajita" was, in fact, a steak fajita.... or maybe a steak fajita taco.
Jill Biden could have picked something else from San Antonio for her comparison. Maybe Hispanics are as diverse as the players on the Spurs? She probably would have been better just to avoid trying to be cute.
I'm reminded of a joke I heard on the TV show Mr. Iglesias: "What the heck is a Latin-X? It sounds like some kind of a Mexican bug spray!"
They aren't Hispanics and they aren't Latinx. They are deplorable white people. We are now in the world of, in the words of the Washington Post, "multiracial whiteness." If the narrative needs George Zimmerman to be white, then he is a White Hispanic. If the narrative needs Trump supporters to be white, then black Trump supporters are white supporters of white supremacy. The black-white binary is in the very DNA of leftist politics.
