Okay, just listened to your clip. I think you might be missing an angle to this. Whether the breakfast taco is "Mexican" is debatable. I would call it "Mexican,' and the Mexican-Americans (who call themselves Mexicans) would probably call breakfast tacos "Mexican," but the people of Mexico would probably disagree. The breakfast taco was invented in San Antonio, though Austin likes to claim credit for it. I think Jill Biden was saying hispanics are as diverse as [insert X invented in San Antonio]. The problem is that breakfast tacos aren't necessarily known for being "diverse." (Aren't they pretty much all made with eggs, cheese, etc.?)
When I was in San Antonio in the mid-1990s, my coworkers would often order breakfast from Taco Cabana. They would order breakfast tacos and I would order "steak fajitas," which were strips of cooked steak wrapped in a tortilla which was wrapped in aluminum foil. I would smother the steak strips in salsa, pile on the jalapenos, and then wrap it back up. (It was amazing and whenever I go to Texas, I hit Taco Cabana for that.)
I've been told that what I was eating was not a "steak fajita" but rather a "taco." Fajitas are Tex-Mex so arguably "American" and "not Mexican," and they are probably the most popular item on a Mexican restaurant's menu. Typically, a restaurant will offer steak, chicken, shrimp, and veggie fajitas. The "veggie fajita" proves that a fajita is anything brought to your table at a Mexican restaurant on a sizzling cast iron skillet. (Spoiler: the kitchen staff places an ice cube underneath your fajitas on the hot skillet to create the beloved steam and sizzle.) However, the original meaning of "fajita" is "little strip," so I would argue that my Taco Cabana "steak fajita" was, in fact, a steak fajita.... or maybe a steak fajita taco.
Jill Biden could have picked something else from San Antonio for her comparison. Maybe Hispanics are as diverse as the players on the Spurs? She probably would have been better just to avoid trying to be cute.
I'm reminded of a joke I heard on the TV show Mr. Iglesias: "What the heck is a Latin-X? It sounds like some kind of a Mexican bug spray!"
They aren't Hispanics and they aren't Latinx. They are deplorable white people. We are now in the world of, in the words of the Washington Post, "multiracial whiteness." If the narrative needs George Zimmerman to be white, then he is a White Hispanic. If the narrative needs Trump supporters to be white, then black Trump supporters are white supporters of white supremacy. The black-white binary is in the very DNA of leftist politics.
Turns out Americans wanting to be called American and having nation pride is a human thing and not a white racist thing. Remember we are not supposed to say we are Americans because that diminishes Central Americans and South Americans.
Affrica is treated as a country, and of you are black you must be African-American. Never mind the Caribbean countries that are not African.
Asian-Americans, as if Asia is a country not a continent of many countries and cultures.
Jill Biden demonstrated an incredible depth of ignorance and exposed the Democrats view of "Hispanics", they are all Mexican.
Basically to a Democrat, regardless of your country of origin, your ancestry, your culture, you all look the same. Lettuce is lettuce, tomatoes are tomatoes, cucumbers are cucumbers.
I reject the salad bowl, we are a melting pot. American is not a race, it is an idea, an attitude, shared ideals that start with our founding.
At least Joe has an excuse when he flubs, dementia is a horrible disease. Jill has no excuse but she did make it crystal clear, she's part of the elite class and we're not. I guarandamtee you she thinks everyone outside her elite circle is nothing more than a taco.
DOCTOR Jill Biden is part of the establishment, not the elite. If you believe the reporting of the legacy media, shop at Whole Foods, and you adore colleges and universities that don't teach students to think critically but to blindly accept the ideological fashions of the time, you are the furthest thing from elite. The group of people with whom you mindlessly agree and who prosper based on their privilege (and in spite of their lack of merit) are nothing more than the establishment.
Everyone is a "special interest group" to democrats, and they are that special interest. They don't care one bit about the lives of the people who vote for them, only that they do vote for them. It is a problem with establishment politicians in general. Upholding the law, securing freedom for the people, their oaths of office are all meaningless to them. The Hoi Polloi are only useful so far as they do as they are told and do not question their betters.

Very insightful.
