I take the liberty to revise your explanation of Hanukkah to include a few more details: that the story is actually about the Jews defeating Antiochus IV in a huge military victory, enabling them to take back and reconsecrate the temple which - importantly - was located in Jerusalem, along with the story of one day's supply of oil lasting eight days. And these events took place nearly 2200 years ago. But for Doug Emhoff to include such details would be contrary to the Progressive narrative about Jewish "colonizers," and cause friction at home since his spouse is calling for mandatory cease-fire rather than, as you state, "refusing to submit."

I think that alot of the shallowness of the people putting out press releases is because they aren't religious. And, even if they think they are, it's a diluted version taught in 50 minute segments in childhood with no study of the actual books or reference such as the Bible, Torah, etc. Deep thought, haha.
