Joe Biden’s “Fine People on Both Sides” Moment
When given the opportunity for moral clarity, the man who ran because of Charlottesville did no better than, and perhaps a bit worse than, Trump’s “very fine people on both sides” moment after Charlottesville. Trump did a better job denouncing the white supremacists at that time than Biden did denouncing antisemites yesterday.
At the White House, Joe Biden stood by while Alexandria Ocasio Cortez praised the pro-Hamas protests at Yale, Columbia, Berkeley, and elsewhere. Biden then declared he “learned a long time ago to listen to that lady.”
Later, a reporter asked Biden if he condemned the antisemitic protests.
“I condemn the antisemitic protests,” Biden told the reporters. “I also condemn those who don’t understand what’s going on with the Palestinians.”
What?
What a muddied mess. Palestinian students are not being harassed on college campuses. Palestinian professors are not being locked out of campus. Biden met the moment and fell on his face.
I understand those who want to stop Trump.
But Biden cannot stand up forcefully against Trump if he cannot stand up forcefully against these antisemitic protestors. Doing the both sides dance on this is a remarkable failure of leadership from a President who said he wanted to call us all to our better angels and return us to normal.
Biden failed.
It’s a testament to the level of intellectual dishonesty of the Democrats that they’ll defend his failure as success.
This is how Joe Biden has survived as an elected official for over 50 years. Appeal to the masses first, low information voters second, and lie to all who are vulnerable. By any means necessary to get the number of votes needed. Not ALL politicians are like that. Your Clinton example yesterday was surprisingly accurate and honestly I had forgotten it over time. Watching this nation in decline is sickening and seeing how many Americans don't give a damn is abhorrent.
At every opportunity Biden has destroyed what was great about this country. He ignores the crime, the inflation, the border, our foreign standing with other countries and he has weaponized every alphabet agency against us. You want to talk about destroying democracy. I am not a fan of Donald Trump and I believe he would not have been the republican candidate if it not have been for the DOJ coming after him, but I hope he buries Biden in November. I also hope that every communist “squad “ member is out of a job.
