Republicans,
Please exercise some humility (he says as he’s about to ridicule some people on Twitter who have harassed him). The nation just rejected the most progressive candidate to ever run for President. They embraced the GOP with that contrast, not by itself.
All the data, including the exit polling last night from which we know the massive multiracial coalition that embraced Donald Trump, shows that these people do not love him. But they are frustrated and angry that it seems no one cares about them or respects them. They think he might and they think the GOP with him might.
So they need to see meaningful improvements in their lives.
Don’t take it for granted or the trust can be lost more quickly than it was built. Good governance is going to matter. The Democrats will fight back.
Just remember — results matter more than words. That is a lesson Democrats forgot. Also, get the boys out of girls’ sports, the porn out of elementary school libraries, cut taxes, deregulate, and roll back all of Jennifer Granholm’s regulations.
That will get the economy going and show the parents we can get stuff done.
The election is over. The hard part is coming — governing competently.
Let’s also hope our President will surround himself and appoint people who understand and possess the level of competence and conviction to govern competently!
My neighbor who almost got divorced in 2016 because her husband voted for Trump posted about how hate is what Trump promotes. I posted on my personal page all the names I’ve been called as a conservative woman and said the rhetoric from both sides needs to stop and while I cannot help what those in power say I can control my mouth and my keyboard. My neighbor came to my post and continued her rant. I told her I wasn’t going to participate. The meltdowns are starting.
