One of the things I worry about is republicans who will work behind the scenes to prevent Trump from doing some of the things that need to be done. I would say that the failure of republicans to do as they said they were going to do in the first two years of Trumps first term is one of the biggest cause for our outrage.

I think the question now is, what is their insurance plan going to be this time?

And let’s get back to classical education. Teach us and get out of our way.

The Trump administration and the GOP need to straighten up and fly right. Do the right things the right way. Enact the right policies.

If they screw it up, say hello to President Newsom in '28.

I fear we can “look forward” to pretty brutal primaries in both parties started in about two years.

“If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”

It’s burning coals time! Is this scriptural support for schadenfreude? Who’d have thought. Let’s behave ourselves so we can make the best of it.

I agree! “Humble yourselves before the Lord!” Voters gave Republicans an opportunity to govern rightly in 2010 and Republicans blew it and became greedy for power.

Let’s do it for real this time!

I agree. Were not talking about revenge. People don't like revenge or a president who uses the system to enact it.

What IS needed is prudence and common sense. When trump got into WH in 2016 he kept 90% of the Obama staffers because he wanted to be diplomatic. That was a huge mistake.

So he can't be too moderate with his transition. He needs to clean house top to bottom and like I said, fire everyone right down to the Janitors if needed.

But thank goodness that at least we now have the chance to make those changes!!! What the heck are they up to that she can’t even make a simple concession speech?

My opinionated theory.

1. She is looking into legal ways to contest the vote.

2. They are going to miraculously find a million or so of fake mail in ballots that they will claim need to be counted.

3. She is quietly throwing a tantrum.

But bottom line, even trump didn't do this in 2020. What's going on?

What may also be happening, God help me it doesn't.

Biden will resign tomorrow, making Harris the president and with that she can do some very nefarious things.

As I said. The dems in power right now like Pelosi, Like Biden and Obama, are not going to just lose quietly. Again, not with Trump.

Well, I thought she drank a bottle of wine, curled up in a fetal position, and screamed about the bad orange man.

Nah, only Trump has a proven record of doing that kind of thing.

Again you’re speaking words of wisdom gained from experience. I don’t always with you but, you are definitely right on target. Thank you ❣️

And just like that, Robert Reich calls for protests today.

Just wondering when the French Notre Dame restoration will be complete so we can put this gargoyle back up on his perch.

Cheers

The spokesperson for Trump Said it best.

He's been shouted at. He was forced to take a mugshot, he was forced to sit in a courtroom for 6 weeks, he got shot at TWICE.

To take a quote from a famous movie. "We're mad as hell and we aren't going to take it anymore!"

Trump has every right to be P***ed off. He has every right to go out there and enact some vengeance. Jack smith deserves to be fired and never let anywhere near a legal position ever again.

And he should go further and unleash the DOJ on the justice systems in New York and investigate them for corruption of justice. Remove judges if necessary, jail them if possible.

The biggest concern I have right now is that this is only the first step.

He has to make it to January and this silence from Harris is extremely concerning. Makes you think, "what are they up to". I said before. Dems aren't going to just roll over and lose easily. Not to Trump.

They are up to something and maybe thats just my anxiety, but it still is very concerning.

Sometimes you have to be the bigger person.

Sometimes the threat (and having the goods) for revenge is better than actually taking revenge.

And revenge is a dish best served cold.

Dangerous days ahead until Harris concedes and signals a peaceful transition.

Dangerous days ahead until Iran decides to back off.

I am not too afraid of Kamala's supporters attacking the capitol on January 6.

I will make the same suggestion I have made to family and friends. Be careful for a few days. Maybe stay away from large crowds. Let this event settle down so you don't end up in the middle of another Wendy's firebombing.

It may settle down once Harris concedes, and the press falls in line with a peaceful transition. Right now, my money on the Dems still trying to block Trump from assuming control of the government.

I don't think they will copy the Trump approach.

Ahhhhh... you maybe forgot the summer of "mostly peaceful protests" or the ongoing ANTIFA attacks on Atlanta. Or maybe missed Robert Reich calling for protests today. Did you hear about the attempt to keep the Fulton County polls open so they could continue to collect mailed in ballots?

There have been scores of cases filed, some already decided, some not yet.

It settles down when new Dem leaders emerge and accept Trump for now.

Do not recall the leader of the Democrat party encouraging all those things. I am sure some Dems will protest the election., just don't expect them to beat the crap out of cops. If they do, they should be shot, just as the "peaceful protesters" at the capitol on January 6 should have been shot. Too bad they only got one of them.

They need to leave him alone and let him do his job and help when they can. It’s for the people not for the party.

To your point, this was a hold-your-nose election, bad and worse for many of us. Repubs need to begin work now on a 2028 candidate desired *FOR* his/her vision, presence and leadership potential, not just *AGAINST* the demonstrably worse opposition. In some ways we were lucky to have Trump vs. Biden, then Trump vs. Harris (+ Jill Stein/others to siphon off 1.5% mostly D voters). Both the Dem "nominee" and "heir" were inexorably tied to the past 4 years of demonstrable failure. And they still garnered 47.5% of the popular vote. That's a significant division in our states, cities, neighborhoods and even families.

HRC talked about "We're better together" while talking about baskets of deplorables. We need to prove the adage true without contradicting ourselves as did HRC & Biden (with his "garbage supporters).

"Love your neighbor as yourself" isn't just a sermon sound bite. Make it today's goal every day!

One thing no one has really talked about. Ukraine. Do we stop our funding of their war with Russia? Got a feeling that will be a big issue by spring.

Ukraine is toast now that Trump is in. Might as well go ahead and surrender to Putin.

Could get more complicated. If Putin decides to expand beyond Ukraine we could be faced with decisions we don't want to make. Biden did a horrible job with Ukraine and it's still there waiting for us.

Human nature is tough to resist - especially when same people are saying they didn’t realize half the county is racists and sexists…. I’ll be magnanimous , but Midtown and VaHi are oddly quiet- so many glum people and that is hilarious in itself.

Hopefully Trump and R’s will get some positive things done. Do it and we can have power for a while - if not….

Biden can help things by pardoning Trump - I’ll be shocked if it happens.
