OK, so all of that insider politics is fun and informative. But what does it have to do with Republicans failing to keep 50 years of promises to protect We the People from the federal government's ever increasing development of unreasonable or unnecessary control and power over us?

Since a good portion of this posting covers California politics, I'd like to ask the Georgia operative a question about them folks. Republicans seem to be hapless and hopeless in that state, and with an open Senate seat coming up don't you think we should throw a hail mary? Why not try to recruit from Hollywood. Gary Sinise would be most conservative's first choice but I think Ron Howard would have a better chance. What do you think Erick?

It seems that McDaniel may be the lesser of three evils (I'm not calling anybody evil--just using the word metaphorically). While not perfect, she has qualities the other two do not that's needed at RNC chair. Maybe next time round another person who will be a much better choice can be selected. Maybe Trump and his "hangers on" will be out of the picture.

Well, we'd all be better off if he DID have power. He just needs to be faultless.

Guess what Erickson - when the RNC chair demonstrably undercuts swing state GOP general election candidates - you know...those who’ve won a statewide GOP primary race by virtue of grassroots support - fundraising suffers, as does enthusiasm & turnout. That is NOT the recipe for winning critical elections in the most pivotal age in the history of this republic.

I realize you’ve heretofore made a career of feeding & swimming with the sharks, but don’t expect the grassroots masses to go on supporting your Substack income, when you use it to endorse establishment sharks that see the grassroots as nothing more than chum for their personal sustenance.

I am admittedly weak in my understanding of the whole fundraising racket, but it seems that tribalism will allow all those you named to continue influencing where their followers' money is spent. Agreed, you want the right person as RNC Chair, but the others will continue pursuing personal benefit which will ultimately sow division.

Despite the fact I believe you lost us the Senate by supporting Kelly Loeffler as Kemp's appointment to the vacant Georgia seat over a true conservative gem, Doug Collins, your arguments are persuasive (if once again establishment) on this one. Plus, I maintain that Donald Trump, and association with him, is losing Republicans national elections, not fiery speeches from campaign chairs.

But Lindell said there was "proof" that the election was stolen from Trump! Of course, Adam Schiff said there was "proof" of Trump/Russia collusion. Seems like both men were wrong.

So they can raise money. That don't impress me much. Results matter. Three complete disaster elections. Plus RNC and GARP went after a sucessful Governer. The RNC and GARP can go the way of the dodo bird.

We don't have great choices, do we? I heard Dhillon's interview last week on The Ricochet Podcast, and she can certainly bring the red meat! She also knew her audience because not a word about stolen elections or Kelli Ward.

Erick, I am disappointed. After talking to some establishment republicans about Ronna and her fund raising you do a 180 and get back on the establishment train. We are tired of losing. Pressler understands how to mobilize grass roots ballot harvesting/mail-in vote collecting. He is working on strategies and a game plan for 2024. The republicans are never going to beat the dems unless we learn and embrace the same tactics that the dems have perfected. They have political machines in every large city actively rounding up votes from lower income communities and people that normally do not even vote. We have got to be able to beat the dems at their own games....even if that means we have to get down in the mud. The days of country club republicans that look down on common sense voters (me) are over. We need new blood that will motivate and get people interested in the party. Dhillon is also if Indian descent (like your friend Nikki Haley). Indians typically vote democrat. Dhillon can help bring that voting block to the conservative side.

I'm not going to agree with you on this. I kind of like Ms. Dhillion. Maybe someone just needs to tell her that she is surrounding herself with crazies. Regardless I think we need new blood. What happened this last November left a bad taste in my mouth.

Swing and a miss here, Erick.

RNC Chairman is important….but it’s the candidate that really matters.

Apologize for changing the subject. But everyone should be aware of GA SB 7 the so called “3G” bill. With all the constant talk of gun control this is the first that targets the criminal and not the law abiding citizen. Will be very interesting to see who rises in opposition. I’ll bet it will be the most vocal gun control advocates.

I don’t follow the RNC closely, but I agree with your assessment- less crazy and more focused on the core issues will win the day.
