It’s not Republicans who are stopping Kamala from speaking…

Trump is such a smart man. What possess him to keep peeing in his chilli. It just doesn't make any sense. He is his own worst enemy.

Erick, a bit off subject but I think Trump reverted to form and his Atlanta rally was a major disaster.

All the Harris people have to do is hide her while President Trump implodes with his marathon, rambling speeches and attacks on local Republicans, instead of criticizing Harris/Bidens policies.

Somebody needs to slip him a Valium or he will defeat himself with independents and Republicans who may have been on the fence.

Gov. Kemp had a very good comeback to Trump's attacks.

What are your thoughts?

Not quick on her feet just quick on her back

So Trump attacked Kemp and Raffensberger tonight at his rally in Atlanta saying they were doing everything they can to get Democrats elected. And that they were disloyal. This stuff has to stop (I don’t think it will) or else I’m going be turned off enough not to vote for Trump (as I’m sure many others will also). I’ll never vote for Harris but good Lord, please stop the madness.

The party is in disarray and beating itself.

So, what’s the deal? Why didn’t the governor attend the rally? What are we seeing that no one is saying?

Trump going out of his way to attack Gov. Brian Kemp ahead of today's rally is absolute lunacy.

You can have the best policies in the world, but if you don't win, you never get a chance to implement them.

"The hyper-online Republican attacks over the ethnicity of Kamala Harris were dumb and destined to fail."

No, they are not failing and they are only one piece.

Erick, I think that you are part of the problem here in conservative media. Your fixation on this topic is indicative of a larger issue. You shrink from any identity politics fighting back I think because you are not brave about it... and you worry about your own career and reputation being impacted by the mob of leftists on social media. You are hypersensitive about this stuff.

God I hate social media. It has ruined everything about politics.

However, if you really dig deep and think critically, true equality requires the respect of direct and equal criticism of all people for their words and actions. I don't think high and mighty moralists in the Republican party understand and respect the corrupt power of group victim vulnerable narcissism. These are people that scratch your eyes out and they retreat into a victim posture (I am a black woman!) for defense.

Do you remember what Harris did to Brett Kavanaugh!?

Come on man. If she is half Indian and not really African American because her father and grandfather were Jamaican, and they were salve owners. That stuff is a piece of the big puzzle with voters given the Democrat strategy to capture more black votes because they say Kamala is black.

I have two Jamaican friends that told me that they are NOT African American they are Jamaican. I have black friends that tell me they are descendants of American slaves from Africa and they say that Kamala being half Asian is a reasonable consideration given that Asians in general are upper class and don't at all understand the real plight of the black community.

Now, I agree that Trump and Republicans should focus on the policies and ideas and word salads of Harris. But then you seem to think that they cannot do both. I think you project your own media personality insecurity and/or fear about identity politics and this isn't good.

Old guard Republicans still hold the door open for the post-modernist feminist behind them while she plots the destruction of all males on the planet. Old guard Republicans feel good about their high and mighty morality while they get destroyed by the new feminist. My view is that I will treat all people, male or female, the exact same. Equality baby! It is a great thing that keeps the republic strong!

I agree that Your fixation on this topic is indicative of a larger issue, "These are people that scratch your eyes out and they retreat into a victim posture (I am a black woman!) for defense." So, you are saying all independents, democrats, republicans and Trump maybe's (friends, relatives, loved ones, etc.) fit that description because if you are not, you are insulting and alienating them plus definitely making them rethink considering voting for him. Yes some will vote Trump in the end because they finally see something about him they like or just because of the problems with the economy current/future. Some will not because of this stupid fixation on personal attacks and especially is she black, I think everyone knows she is a person of color so what is the point except to piss off folks. Every time you go there you waste an opportunity to explain either Trumps policy or expose hers.

If he continues this idiotic strategy, Trump will lose in a landslide, likely costing the Redumblicans the House and Senate (possibly with a filibuster-proof majority.)

Two new stars will be added to the flag for DC & Puerto Rico, making the Senate majority Democrat forever.

Our only hopes are that Trump changes course and addresses issues and records, or a giant meteor blows our planet into oblivion. Otherwise, the Dems will blow our country into oblivion.

Irrational hysteria is showing. If you want to lose the election, go back to that Handmaiden's Tale position on abortion.

She’s flip-flopping in the right direction. She’s shifting the Overton Window toward centrism. It may be bad for the GOP in this moment but it is good for the country for the Democrats to move away from extreme leftist policies.

How many people has Trump thrown under the bus because he changed his mind on a subject to meet his immediate political need? The Heritage Institute is only the most recent example. Other than immigration and energy policy Trump has no firm commitment to ANYTHING.

Biden did the same, and then went radical in office. How can you tell a Democrat politician is lying? Their lips are moving.

When somone tells or shows you who they are, believe them.. She's is not moderating, she's just (poorly) saying what she thinks people want to hear so she can win.

Expand full comment

It would be good for the country if she as sincere about her becoming more centrist. But we still haven’t hard anything at all from her about why her positions have changed, just from campaign spokespeople. She has so far refused all requests from the media for interviews, even from those friendly to her. .i have followed her career closely since her disastrous and very brief presidential campaign and have never seen any evidence hat she is a serious thinker or has any firm convictions at all about any issue except perhaps abortion and that BLM was a very positive influence.

Expand full comment

Why? Because she wants to be elected.

Why did Trump change his position on a national abortion bill? Because he wants to be re-elected.

Expand full comment

Trump changed his position because the Republican idiots have been pushing complete anti-abortion legislation in red states after Dodd.

Expand full comment

That was the point of overturning Roe, to allow each state to address the issue. But when it became clear how unpopular banning abortion was, especially with women in the suburbs, Trump flip-flopped on long held anti-abortion positions held by people like Erick Erickson. When was the last time Erick has brought up this subject????

Erick ignores it and instead focuses on words Trump says as the reason Republicans lost in 2020 and failed to secure a red wave in 2022.

100% Erick. I like that Trump moved up the debate to September 4th and to have it done on Fox. They may be the only outlet that asks serious questions and expect a somewhat cogent answer.

Has Kamala accepted the debate on Fox? I don’t see that she has yet.

They have been trying to let her speak. Problem is all the stock footage of Kamala’s gaffes have been scrubbed.

Try looking up the clip on YT for the Kamala hates Christmas clip? It won’t come up.

It’s what I’ve been saying Erick. The Trump admin HAS been doing what it’s supposed to but the media is the one hiding it. It won’t work though. Independents or undecided voters, which I believe don’t exist, don’t watch the online news. And ads don’t really work because, like me, I don’t watch live TV.

But all of this bad press and hiding Harris hasn’t produced anything meaningful in the polls. They cry victory because she is tied or trailing by 2 points in national polls. That’s not something to cheer about. If her influence was good and her momentum building she should be leading by 5 or 6 by now. That’s hasn’t materialized.

Trump is still leading in NV AZ GA and NC. He’s leading in Penn. he wins if the election were held today and the polls believed. So what are the dems so giddy about?

She may get a bump coming out of the convention but it won’t make a difference because elections are not decided in August. Or even September. It’s usually all rounded out by mid to end of October.

I’m sorry people need to look at the Michael Dukakis campaign and see how hopeful they were in August only to crash and burn in October.

After SCOTUS's disastrous NetChoice decision, big Tech has gone crazy in scrubbing all content to benefit the Democrat machine. The reason other than Big Tech being run by liberal billionaires that collude with Democrat politicians and government officials, is that Republicans will rescind Section 230 protections.

However, Youtube, Rumble, TikTok and Twitter still have display the content of Harris word salads. Also, use Duck Duck Go instead of straight Google and that helps too.

I so hope that you are right. The dems that I know would vote for a cat if it was a democrat. We need to reach the voters that really care about where this country is headed which is off a cliff if Harris wins.

One could say exactly the same about the GOP faithful. Is there really any difference in the nature of the support between MTG’s GOP faithful in her 14th GA district and AOC’s Democratic faithful in her 14th NY district Both states are part of the original 13, so there is a long history in governing the republic in them.

Erick get in touch with the Trump campaign and have DJT meet with you. Maybe you could help him change course. Go to the rally tonight. Do what you can to meet with him. He needs the good advice that you have been telling us. I fear a fillabuster free senate. 13 or 15 supreme court justices. An open border and all the other things that Kamal Harris would bring to the white house. Someone needs to manage DJT to get him to the finish line. Someone needs to remind him that an electoral lose for him will cause further problems down ballot. He needs to be reminded that if he were to lose in November that an orange jump suit will be in his future. That person to help DJT is you Erick Erickson!!!
