I too am tremendously disappointed that the Republicans could not get School Choice enacted into law. It is past time to end the Public School monopoly and provide students and their parents real educational choice. Please provide the list of the Republicans that voted against school choice in Georgia so we can work to find good primary challengers for 2024.
Erick - please, please, please tell us the name of the Cobb Co elem school where this video was shown. If it was my kids’ school, I need to know. I can’t find any info on this online.
I just can't believe any right thinking citizen could vote for ANY of the Republicans who voted against school choice. I want a list....where can I find it?
It does seem a betrayal of those who voted for you as one party to switch. Neither party wants to discourage it, since it increases the power of the politician’s new friends. Remember “Jumpin’ Jim Jeffords” who flipped the Senate by becoming a Dem?
This is so disappointing after seeing more states vote school choice and Georgia isn't on that list. Our kids deserve better and I'd like to know all the Republicans who voted NO on this bill so if I know folks in their districts, I can inform them when they complain, that this issue is the biggest that will help the children and change the state for the good of all!
In the hopes of maintaining their careers, Hollywood folks will have plastic surgery right up to the point that they look more like monsters. Politicians do the same with their votes.
This is unacceptable...and the fools that voted for him are responsible for education deprivation for students in failing schools and those that show deviate sexual content to minors.. This vote places GA children at the mercy of "whomever" makes decisions on school Boards.
I will not vote for any Republican that did not support this bill !!!
Well, I can pretty much guarantee you that there was little to no Democrat support for this bill, so good luck on voting. We do need school choice and our legislators are mostly on the wrong side of this issue, for now. Here's hoping we can get better candidates next time, in 2024 (or that these legislators will see the light over the next year).
I live in Cobb County and this is why Georgia is losing elections to the progressive left. I don't care how good you are on other things Georgia GOP, school choice is how we take back our country. I am voting against every and any Georgia Republican who killed this. Get on board with this winning issue or be primaried. Hope I wasn't unclear.
Well, it’s a two year General Assembly, as they always note. Governor Kemp needs to ensure this doesn’t happen next year. I think he waited too long this year.

Had be had viable opposition in the primaries in the past? Correct; needs to be primaries OUT!

Pretty amazing you can just switch your party so easily.
Imagine if there was a 1 year restriction, that you can't be committee chairman after switching parties.
Sort of like the NCAA used to have when switching schools (and yes they should go back to this).

The deceit of these people nauseates me
I sent him an email telling him I was disappointed in his stand against school choice
Disappointing

from today's AJC: "The vote against SB 233 was 89-85, with one Democrat in favor and at least a dozen Republicans opposed."
I would love to know who's in this "dirty dozen".
Erick - which school in Cobb was this? I live in Cobb Co.
I also live in Cobb county. Parsons is in district 44 which includes Cobb and Cherokee. (I live in district 46.)

I meant specifically which elementary school in Cobb showed this to first graders.
