Neither campaign is actually interested in winning. This election is not about reason but about feelings. Both parties could easily win the middle. Neither side cares. All they care about is placating the base and rewarding their friends.
Mr. Trump, your 78 years old and literally came within a half inch of dieing.
Now, like men who did the impossible on D Day, get the F up ad do your job. I get you need a big ego to run for office, but public service and leadership is not about the person serving and leading, it's about those you serve and lead.
Put them, us, first. You will get credit, just not the immediate ego stroking you get standing in front a crowd that loves Trump the man as opposed to Trump the president.
Absolutely agree with you. Republicans I talk to in our small community are saying the same thing. He needs to stay on message and give people a reason to vote for him. Explain what this country will look like, how it will benefit, from four more GOP years. What would he do if there's war in the Middle East or with China? Will prices come down?
They would never vote Democrat but there are a lot of comments about writing in Nikki Haley. At this point, right now, it's likely more than just talk.
Is Trump hearing this? I don’t know but he seemed to turn a small corner today in his press conference. He actually said something to the effect that he hopes he and Brian Kemp can mend fences. I hope that’s an admission that he screwed up last week in Georgia. He also fixated on the actual issues (though not eloquently) until he got sidetracked by something about crowd size at his rallies. I do like that he went on the offensive with the debates and agreeing to two more. So far, Kamala only seems to want to do the ABC debate. We’ll see.
I really hope that Trump will follow this advice, because he can really be repugnant all too often. The thought that the Democrats will win the presidency looks like the end of the Republic and our Constitution and recognized God-given rights. That is sad. As for me and those whom I can serve, I hope we can and will do what is right and pleasing to the Lord, no matter what happens. No one can keep the Lord's people from praying. And He answers in ways we cannot imagine.
I'm sure the Harris campaign would love that. Nope. I'm showing up to vote and bringing friends and family with me. Potential socialism is worse than mean tweets.
It’s not the mean tweets I’m worried about. Just the other day the former president said he thinks his instincts are better than Federal Reserve when it comes to setting interest rates. This is dangerous to our economy.
Who knows...maybe he does. It's the Fed (which we all know is not a Federal department, but an independent entity) who has put us in some tough situations. They usually either react too slowly or not quickly enough with interest rates.
It's quasi-independent. The president appoints the chair, that's the extent of his involvement. The Fed is overseen by Congress, which is why they have a dual mandate. Their responsibility has slowly evolved over the last 100+ years.
What Trump is threatening is radical. If the federal reserve policies become subject to ephemeral political considerations, regardless of which party is in control, it will be bad for the economy. I think you know this. You know this is not a good idea.
‘Unhinged’, no. Really flawed, yep. But given the choice between him or Harris, I’ll choose him over communism. Too harsh? I don’t think so. She and Walz would be a disaster.
And Harris and Walz won't do a lot of damage?!? Unfortunately, they both have an ideological anchor that consists of just about everything but the freedoms granted by our constitution. Trump may be flawed but his 4 years as president made life easier for more Americans than 4 years of the Biden/Harris administration did, and I fear, what 4 years of a Harris/Walz administration would do. While he may be a narcissist, Trump's economic instincts are far better than Harris's.
I see that he now thinks he should be in control of interest rates. So there goes an independent Fed. Want to see what that leads to check out the economic performance of Turkey.
But, he was President for four years, hounded by fake dem created attacks the whole time. He didn’t prosecute his enemies, he rounded up no one, he started no wars. Media exacerbated every nuanced comment he ever said, while covering for dem’s antics. Not seeing unhinged here.
What you can’t or refuse to see is his psychopathy is worse now. And he is the alpha and the omega of the GOP now.
He’s already establishing scapegoats for the fall; Kemp, Raffensperger. If he loses LaCivita will join the scapegoat club and perhaps J.D. Vance too. You see, it can’t be his fault. Perfection can’t lose.
Too bad he won’t show up at your conference this week. You could sit him down and ask him “ what the heck are you doing , do you wanted to lose? Can’t you see you are alienating your potential voters? Then you could set him straight on how he should run his campaign.
Erick, I really wish I could get your message to the Trump team. I am voting for him but he pisses me off also. It's his election to loose and it's happening. No more name calling...stick to the policies and play nice with Georgia. I'm seeing a repeat of 2020.
Erick, this is really excellent. Thank you, you’ve answered the requests of many of your listeners/readers. I’m forwarding these free advice tips to my connections, such that they are, hopefully to find a hand-hold, a leverage point, that will get your wisdom to Trump and company. Maybe we will set a slight shift that will snowball our way. Hopefully so, but maybe not. The Lord has this whatever happens. His Kingdom first.
Trump has to have a Nathan to bluntly tell him of his “sins”. I want a leader, not a Don Rickles insult generator.
Harris and Walz are both a target rich environment. They have a Progressive track record which he should focus on. I keep quoting Reagan and that quote got a lot of Carter supporters to re think their support for him.
Elections have consequences. An extreme example is the election in Germany in 1933. How did that work out for everyone? Do you think that a Harris-Walz administration wouldn’t use the alphabet agencies and the bureaucracy to destroy our freedom?
A little frustrating. That anyone loyalty is based on feelings and attitudes.
How any woman can be for Kamala or the Dems. Is beyond me. First they have trashed women’s sports. They have taken away almost any ability to excel in society.
And now the VP pick. Is this really all on Trump.
So let’s take the score.
Trump has to…
Stay on message
Get on local tv
Watch every word he says.
Stay on message
And probably 100 other things that need to be done.
While Kamala and the Dems can just say anything and do anything.
As a woman, I am more and more disappointed in how so many women are unable to divorce policy from emotion. Trump can and does say what he plans to do, then, with one off the cuff "mean" comment, women shriek and swear they won't vote for him. Emotional women will be the downfall of the republic. Not that there aren't some overly emotional men in there too.
The problem for Trump is that his meanness toward women and the constant necessity to put them down if they even indicate the least bit of disloyalty or ignore or compete with him brings out the worst of his several personality disorders.
Well, he is just as mean to men. The problem is women insist they are equal to men then cry when men treat them the same way as men with whom they are competing. I worked in a typically male career. I did not expect to be treated differently because I was a woman.
But what happened in the situations when you were treated differently ranging from minor aggressions like mistaken identity to major ones like being passed over for advancement or a raise because you did not have "manly" responsibilities like a wife and kids even if you had a spouse and children? I was in the Foreign Service when the State Dept had to come to grips with gender issues (female officers could not be married and officers' wives overseas had to get permission to work.) When it rectified that situation, all of a sudden it had a considerable number of tandem couples where both spouses were FSO's and different equal treatment issues were created.
Other than a few times when men were a bit overprotective because I only weighed 90-100 lbs and we needed to take down a violent inmate, I don't feel like I was treated differently. I didn't ask for, or expect different treatment because I was a woman, and they acted accordingly.
LOL. Is it Trump or the Democrat media without any support in opposition to the Democrat media (feckless infighting Republican establishment) getting these females, and hypersensitive girly men, all emotionally against Trump? We saw this is the run up to the 2020 election where the Democrats got the females and girly men all wee weed up about Dodd, and the feckless Republican establishment blamed Trump for endorsing non-establishment candidates.
Sure blame Trump for not carrying the perfect message of a party that is also filled with Trump enemies happy to tear him apart. Meanwhile do the Democrat candidates need to carry a perfect message? Kamala is about the worst candidate we would ever imagine with respect to what real males want and need... she is not even good for real females. Yet the Democrats put lipstick on that farm animal. What does Trump get from the Republicans.
People like Erick wringing his hands and blaming Trump. If Erick was a Democrat he would be singing nothing but positive memes and messaging in support of Harris and Walz. Erick would be dismissing the obvious flaws of his candidate, and making them golden in the eyes and ears of his audience.
Republicans lose not be cause of Trump, see Romney and McCain for examples, but because the Republican establishment are a bunch of friggin' idiots.
Trump is an egomaniac stuck on a past slight. And as to perfect: “it was so perfect. Sssssooooooooo perfect.” But he never closes the deal on anything.
I don’t see Erick’s piece tonight as an attack on Trump. I see it as really good (free) advice. If he hated Trump, he wouldn’t tell him how to break out and blow away the competition ( figurative speech, NSA, don’t drone me). Erick’s laying out a path to win against the bought media. He actually sounded really pumped, which I found awesome. I appreciate your viewpoints, Frank, but I see nothing here to take Erick to task over. Rather praise Erick for his passionate counsel. That’s what I heard.
Neither campaign is actually interested in winning. This election is not about reason but about feelings. Both parties could easily win the middle. Neither side cares. All they care about is placating the base and rewarding their friends.
Honestly, I was about to make a second donation to Trump, but his comments about Kemp keep me from doing so.
Governor Kemp is a dedicated and competent governor. I am personally offended at Trump’s remarks.
Just tell trump it would be a stick in the eye to those NY and DC centers of the news world that refuse to be honest.

In the words of Dr. Phill, it's not about you.
C’mon, it’s always about him.
Absolutely agree with you. Republicans I talk to in our small community are saying the same thing. He needs to stay on message and give people a reason to vote for him. Everyone here is describing a man unhinged. And yet you want him to be president. I wish everyone would throw up their hands in disgust and stay home.
I'm sure the Harris campaign would love that. Nope. I'm showing up to vote and bringing friends and family with me. Potential socialism is worse than mean tweets.

Trump is a disaster. He drones on and on and on with no point. “Stolen.” “Treated badly.”
I knew he’d screw this up. The media pushed him so he’d lose. And he ran. Why couldn’t he just STFU and retire? Name an heir, and be done.
He’s a freaking incompetent egomaniac.
Trump has to have a Nathan to bluntly tell him of his “sins”. I want a leader, not a Don Rickles insult generator.

Well said and Kamala is actually running effective ads for the low information voter
A little frustrating. That anyone loyalty is based on feelings and attitudes.
