Erick mentioned Robert Kagan of the "terrorist propaganda outlet" Washington Post. The Post just released an excerpt from Kagan's recent book (probably what he was talking to Joy Reid about), which excerpt I found to be one of the most thought-provoking pieces that I have read in a long time. Basically, Kagan argues that MAGA (or more specifically, Christian nationalism) is the culmination of the Founding Fathers' fear about a "decline in public virtue," about which Kagan writes, "The people had to love liberty, not just for themselves but as an abstract ideal for all humans."

Whether you agree or disagree with him, I think you may find Kagan's piece a compelling read:

MSNBC could not possibly say anything worse about Donald Trump than what I have to say about him, and I don't want him dead . . . . Actually, what I should say is that I don't want him killed. His demise from natural causes could be the best thing that has happened for this country since we won World War II, but murder undertaken for political purposes is . . . well, murder. By contrast, what is going on at MSNBC is a little something that we in America like to call "free speech." Whereas murder is out of bounds, incendiary rhetoric - even worse than that as indicated here by Erick - is not.

That said, taking a look at what Erick accuses MSNBC of saying, I see not a single instance in which anyone either calls for or condones violencem which is not done simply by stating one's opinion of the dangers posed by those with whom one disagrees, no matter how strongly. Rather, when it comes to calling for or condoning violence, this is how it's done.

When you say that "Donald Trump does not have the unique ability to drive people to violence," you have absolutely got to be kidding:

And of course, there is this:

You really missed the mark with this one, Erick.

Robert Kagan response to Joy Reid is a stunningly honest review of the Left's behavior projected onto the Right.

ethno religious... The Left's religion of secularism

Old strain... The progressive Left is what McCarthy warned of, DEI is Marxism

John Birch society... Soviet demoralization

The salve owning South were Democrats, the KKK their militant wing.

Opportunity to change the system? You mean by weaponizing impeachment, engaging in extra-democratic means to remove a candidate from the ballot, prosecuting your political opponents to hamstring them, using grade school to indoctrinate a leftist secular agenda rather than actual education?

Not consistent with the Founder's vision? I don't recall a Federalist Paper on how to do an end around on the Bill of Rights et al that the Left has engaged in with surveillance of an opposing parties presidential candidate, Hunter Biden's laptop, spying on Americans, not protecting individual rights because the offending individuals are preferred, selectively investing crimes, abortion clinics vs family planning centers, threatening to federalize a State's national guard, not protecting the sovereignty of the nation by allowing illegal aliens to freely cross in and out enemies to fly spy balloons over.

Oh please. Yes, the slave-owning South was mostly Democratic, as was the KKK. Beginning in the 1960's, however, the two major parties' respective stances on civil rights flipped with Barry Goldwater's opposition to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Richard Nixon's subsequent "Southern strategy" of increasing political support among white voters in the South by appealing to their racism against African Americans. The once solidly blue South's transition to solid red by no means represented the ascendance of right-minded Republicans over racist Democrats, but rather the conversion of racist southern Democrats into Republicans.

Trying to identify today's Democratic Party with the oppression of black people is rather like trying to identify today's Republican Party with supporting free trade. That is, it used to be, but not anymore.

Democrats always accuse other what they want to do or doing?

Whatever the MSM and there pundits are accusing the Republicans and Trump of doing the left is already doing it they lie cheat and steal and claim they are standing up for democracy.Harry Reid Chuck Schumer are proof of that. I will probably be on a list because of what I told a cashier at the supermarket yesterday. As she was scanning the $1.88 cans of olives (normally $2) I mentioned that they used to be $1 on sale before Covid. Besides spreading misinformation, I was guilty of hoarding for buying ten cans.

I’m still waiting for the talking heads to mention that “From The River To The Sea” means elimination of both Jews and Christians.

Really good point, they media coverage could include the fact that it means the destruction of Israel and the elimination of Jew to educate their useful idiot viewers.

Hopefully Imperator Trump has an old school Secret Service detail that is loyal to him and not to Biden’s Department of Homeland Security. The President is unhinged where Trump is concerned. People need to believe that. His caretakers feed his muddled head full of fibs and half truths about Trump. I’d bet they have several plans in place. Too much is at stake.

Donald Trump was President for four years and possibly the most accessible individual to hold that office to the press we've seen in decades. There is absolutely nothing to indicate he took revenge on anyone other than calling out fake news reporters to their faces in press conferences, which i kind of liked, or at least found entertaining.

I don't particularly like the man because of his incessant aggrandisement, but I do like his policy of America first.

The term "fabulist" is appropriate when applied to Joy Reid.. or maybe it's "delusional."

I find this article disturbing, to the point that I find it terrifying. I'm trying not to think that the majority of people in this once-great nation actually believe what they're saying. Guess I'll go get some more guns and ammo today; looks like I might be needing them in the future.

"Donald Trump does not have the unique ability to drive people to violence."

Whether incited by just the foregoing article or Donald Trump himself, that "drive" would appear to be a very short one for some folk.

You also might want to put in a whole house generator. Ones that run on propane are nice. They could shut off your access to diesel. Just sayin.

The people who make this claim have already helped the Biden Administration do just that!

It's amazing because their hate filled rants are used to drive viewership and clicks. Most "news" channels engage in this but MSNBC has taken the unabashed hatred of the other to new levels. Worse ,they are incapable of self reflection. To them it is always the other guy, the other side, Trump supporters that are the hate filled lunatics. They honestly do not see this in themselves. A "news" organization that is helping to divide America and create hatred of the other guy because in part of their own hatred of Republicans and to drive up viewership and online clicks by those that agree with them. They are the living example of what is wrong with America's news coverage and they do not see it.

I have to admit that MSNBC does little these days other than bash Donald Trump. On the other hand, of course, it has not had to pay almost a billion dollars in damages for lying to its audience.

They want him dead. It’s clear. Though I doubt anyone would watch them without their frothing at the mouth about him. I think it’s time everyone wake up and realize our country is being taken over by Marxists. As soon as we come to this realization we’ll be better able to get done what needs to get done. All this campus stuff has less to do with Death to Israel and more to do with Death to America. Hamas is here. Supported by the CCP. We need to wipe them out of every corner of our society. They’re terrorists. They hate the west. They have no place in civilized society.

Our nation wasn’t founded on liberal principles. It was founded on conservative ideas like freedom, democracy, and the desire to seek a better life through that freedom.

This isn’t anything new. These protest are just vocalizing what the dem party really believes. They aren’t angry because they disagree. They are angry because it’s being made public and costing them in the polls.

Dems thrive on living in the darkness behind deception.

They willl endlessly accuse the republicans of exactly what they are doing. It’s deflection and usually works.

I still don’t feel any confidence in the eleven though I will vote. There’s no integrity in our states or others.

What you have written here is the truth, Erick. The problem with human acceptance of truth is that we instinctively want our version of truth. Truth may have facets, but doesn’t have versions. Much of the media has for years offered only their versions of the truth, not necessarily absolute truth. And some extreme left media outlets offer only perversions of the truth because it’s who they are. Jhn 8:44  You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. Jhn 8:45  But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me.

The Washington Post, terrorist propaganda outlet: Best succinct description of that vile rag yet.

Does Joy Reid have access to unpublished writings by our Founders - or is she channeling Edgar Cayce? Either way, Joyless seems to know exactly and precisely what the Founders thought and believed when they penned our nation's documents.
