I was up until 2 AM this morning talking to multiple congressmen and staffers about the dynamics at play for today’s speaker vote. To put it bluntly, I have the inside scoop. Take a moment and listen:
Just my 2 cents. Pure opinion. If Kevin manages to get the speakership. Republicans can kiss their chances at the white house in 2024 goodbye. If the 2022 elections are to be believed.
McCarthy is a trump supporter and if the conservative electorate is ready to move on from trump yet a trump supporter is speaker. They will reject whoever the republicans put up. Even Desantis won’t save them.
The other thing is if they get these rule changes and a member of the house can call for removal. Then what would it matter. Sure McCarthy wins but then a week or a month later we are right back here. Only progress being that it would no longer be McCarthy. KM has lost. He doesn’t realize it yet. But he is lost.
Erick, I’ve given u hell repeatedly since your show from Athens when u said joe biden was ultimately “a nice guy who I wouldn’t mind having a beer with socially...” having said that, the fact that you are close friends with Mr. Roy from Texas, (recently learned by me) my opinion of u has changed. Mr. Roy, as u said today is a “conservatives conservative”, and is in my opinion the best of the best. I don’t listen to your show consistently because of my schedule, but I read with diligence EVERYTHING you send to paid subscribers like me and I watch your YouTube vids that you send along to subscribers. Your friendship with Roy reinforces to me why I pay your subscription price for “members only stuff.” I still disagree with your “Biden is ultimately a nice guy” take, but I’m man enough and logical enough to admit that your support of Roy is more than enough to counterbalance your opinion of Biden. I know you just want to be Godly and dignified and turn the other cheek with Biden , but your support of Mr. Roy shows your true colors. Conservative atheist like me don’t “turn the other cheek.” Progressives must be defeated to the point of extinction. Period. Thank you for your analysis of the Speaker situation. When I disagree with you on things like Biden, then you go and support Mr. Roy, and that keeps me paying whatever your price is for exclusive content.
