No One Really Knows What Biden Will Do

Democrat donors are starting to panic, but the New York Times reports that the Biden family wants Biden to stay in the race. Biden, who has wanted to be President since 1988 and dismisses the views of the press and donor class, listens to his family above all else. And his family wants pardons and a gravy train.

He may still be convinced to drop out, but it will take more than the weekend offered. And will donors really stop donating if it makes Trump more likely?

The theory about the race for Biden’s team right now is that it has wobbled in Trump’s direction, but it can wobble back, and Trump has no ground game. We will hear a lot about ground games in the next few weeks.

We will also hear how it should be Trump, not Biden, who drops out because Trump is a convicted felon.

Today, the Supreme Court will most likely rule that Donald Trump can be prosecuted and lacks absolute immunity. The Biden team will seek to capitalize on the ruling to make the case against Trump, not really for Biden.

Likewise, if Biden goes, it would be Kamala. There will be no white knight to save the Democrats. So, do the Democrats really want that? She is less popular than Biden.

The Trump team is operating as if Biden will not drop out and, frankly, every Republican should want Biden to stay in the race, which he probably will.

I’m not saying Biden will not drop out. So much pressure could be brought to bear that he must. As James Carville noted to Maureen Dowd, “That which can’t continue, won’t.” The problem is Biden can continue, even if he should not, unless maximum pressure is brought to bear. But whichever Democrat comes out forcefully and loudly will be so assailed as to ruin his or her career.

So, which Democrat intends to lead the mob?

The only reason the press is so vocal about his dropping out now is that much of the press has been complicit in covering for Biden. Now, they have to act surprised and pretend they had no idea he was this bad. But then they will either have to probe or protect. Either discredits the press. Biden is already discredited.

Look, instead, for them to focus on Donald Trump’s lies and today’s Supreme Court decision on immunity. Democrats and their allies will also start trying to shame Americans into a vote for Biden instead of persuading them. But the GOP rejoinder will now be that Biden has lied about his mental state the whole time.

Additionally, the Republican Party now needs to more aggressively push for the release of the audio of Joe Biden’s interview with Special Prosecutor Hurr. It seems even more clear now that Merrick Garland has been complicit in covering up Joe Biden’s age issues.

If Democrats in the House really want Biden to step aside, they should join the GOP in pushing for the release of that audio. So should the press corps if they really want to seem like they, too, were being played by Team Biden.

The next two weeks will be very interesting to watch.

P.S. — more than one reader of this email (none of them paid subscribers) has emailed me to speculate that the “deep state” is now going to take out Joe Biden because the deep state fears Trump. None of them can offer a cogent explanation for why the deep state doesn’t just take out Trump. If they’re going to kill a sitting President of the United States, they surely would not care. In other words, please stop being stupid.
