One big difference this time, the Arab countries are totally fed up with Hamas. They never wanted the Palestinians in their countries and President Trump is giving them a legitiment way to do it. If it is breeched while Trump in office I can see them all uniting against Hamas as that wolf has become a threat to them as well. Even if no Israel in equation Hamas is rabid wolf on their doorsteps.
Like many of those Generation X, I have seen so many deals to end the fighting only to be broken by Hamas or a name group who are against Isreal existing. Time will tell if this one goes in a different direction of outcomes.
We hope this deal works out but we know it won’t last it most likely will be fought again with a different Prime Minister and a new President . sorry just being a cynic
Probably true there is one big difference this time, the Arab countries are totally fed up with Hamas. They never wanted the Palestinians in their countries and President Trump is giving a way to do it.
Kelly Christenot - I am right with you on your remark- because there had been a lot of truces that had been made to stop the fighting in that part of the world, only to broken by Hamas or some other group that wants to keep the fighting going against Isreal. I will be seeing what actual happens to see if this deal and this time actual holds.
The great irony of peace is that there is no such thing as peace without conflict. I can only mildly rejoice in this peace agreement as the peace that man achieves is at best temporary. Man's peace avoids the ultimate conflict of good versus evil; and consequently, it accommodates the conflict. History awaits the ultimate conflict that will bring about (to use President Trump's words) "strong, durable, and everlasting peace." Until that conflict occurs, man's peace will be, at best, a failed imposter of "strong, durable, and everlasting peace." I am not trying to be a nay-sayer here. I am simply reminding us of what we all should know. Only the Prince of Peace will bring peace. Until then, live with this reality: It is only those who know the Price of Peace that can enjoy the only peace that surpasses human understanding.
After Trump’s announcement that Israel and Hamas signed the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire plan, here’s how the coming days will unfold:
Thursday (Oct 9)
· 12:00 PM Cairo time — Signing ceremony of the agreement; ceasefire goes into effect on the ground.
· Israel’s security cabinet (5 PM) and government (6 PM) meet to finalize approval.
· Following approval, a 72-hour countdown begins for Hamas to release all living hostages “in one fell swoop,” without public ceremonies.
· Within 24 hours, the IDF will withdraw to the agreed “Yellow Line,” leaving Israel in control of ~53% of Gaza.
Friday: IDF completes its redeployment to the Yellow Line.
Saturday–Monday
· Hostage release expected. Trump hinted “everyone will return on Monday.”
· Trump arrives in Israel Sunday; may address the Knesset.
· Simultaneously, Israel will free ~1,950 Palestinian prisoners, including: 1,700 Gazans detained since Oct 7, 2023 & 250 Palestinians serving life sentences
The deal excludes Hamas’s Nukhba Force members and top commanders like Marwan Barghouti.
By Monday, all living hostages are to be released, Israeli forces redeployed, and the first phase of the Trump plan completed.
Never conflate lack of (declared) war for peace. Critical to stop the shooting and mayhem as first step. The real challenge is in agreeing what "peace" means in terms of long-term goals and expectations. Islam must rule all by its underpinning ideology/theology. Not shooting each other is a "for now" statement only.
I am an American Jewish Person who fully supports Israel ! I reluctantly oppose this deal ! I am in great sympathy of all the families who still have members held hostage and want them released as well as the families who desperately want the remains of their family members who were killed while in brutal captivity BUT I oppose the release of Terrorist Prisoners by Israel -- this is too high a price to pay --- all the other obligations of Israel in this "agreement " favor HAMAS but those are a price that must be paid ! I do not believe that HAMAS will ever be fully neutralized so Israel must remain steadfast in it's vigilance and continue to take military action against Iran and the Houtis and Hezbollah ! In addition Israel can NEVER accept a two state solution ---it is not a solution it is a surrender ! HAMAS is getting off to easily for the atrocities of 10/7/23 -- they should have been fully destroyed much sooner ! The world and the U N will always trash Israel and anti semitism will continue to rise -- even here in the United States ! There are less than 20 million Jews left in the world but we will survive and thrive NO MATTER WHAT ! And YES President Trump did what Biden and his anti Israel democrat party would not do == It was Trump and his full support of Military Action by Israel including American Participation against Iran that turned the tide ! The democrats will try to minimize this !
Well that would be fine but I still oppose release and if and when they are released MOSSAD should track them down and kill them like they did to the perps that perpertrated the Munch Olympic Massacres and other enemies of Israel ! MOSSAD can do this !
I sincerely hope that Israel does get all of the hostages back, living or dead. My confidence in Hamas actually sticking to the peace deal is very low. That being said, President Trump and other members of his Administration deserve a lot of credit for getting an agreement done. In Israel's case, clean the guns and keep them in good working order just in case. That's my advice.
Good Morning People I think this all sounds really good But we all know hamas will rebuild and attack hamas and there backer iran must be delt with. But then they been fighting Long before were Born and will be fighting long after we‘re gone just the way it is. God Bless America have a Great Day
I think for the sake of families of the hostages, it’s a good thing, but there will be no peace. We know that the enmity God put between Ishmael and Abraham will never leave until that day. There will be no peace in the Middle East until all Muslims are destroyed and that will happen one day. Of course The Lord’s desire is that all men be saved and come to the full knowledge of Him. That’s His Good Pleasure and desire, so there will be many Muslims and Jews who are saved. I know plenty now, and Buddhist and Hindu and even atheists. I was an agnostic, mainly bc if I believed my life would change and I liked as it was, but I lost and glad I did. No one has an excuse! You may think you do, but you don’t and you won’t.
I am hopeful for peace and give credit to Trump for getting a deal done but I fear he's making a mistake in assuming we can just bribe Arab leaders with offers of prosperity and they will give up their Sharia supremacist tendency and desire to murder Jews and Christians. The Western mind of today cannot wrap its head around the fact that bigotry exists in other places around the world aside from our own countries. The Oct. 7th attack is a level of fanaticism and violence that we literally cannot wrap our minds around. The key point I see is, will this deal lead to the dissolution of Hamas and the reconstruction of Palestinian territories or will it just be more throwing money at a problem and society that won't change while the rest of the world continues to look away while blaming Israel. Judging by the coverage in the international press, support for Hamas by pro-palestinian protestors, and weak reaction by Western governments, we will likely have some short-term success before it reverts to the later. What can be said with 100% certainty is that this war revealed cracks in Western societies that need to be addressed if we want to survive.

Y'all seem to forget, Messiah is coming. So quit yer belly aching.
Yeppers! About 5 years and counting, right?
We hope this deal works out but we know it won’t last it most likely will be fought again with a different Prime Minister and a new President . sorry just being a cynic

9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God. --Matthew 5
This tells me we can't stop encouraging peace on this earthly plane just because the opposition may not behave peacefully.

When they don’t have guns they use knives, cars and bombs.

I would give them all a blackberry as they are being released or shoot them up with a tracking device like they do dogs.
Well that would be fine but I still oppose release and if and when they are released MOSSAD should track them down and kill them like they did to the perps that perpertrated the Munch Olympic Massacres and other enemies of Israel ! MOSSAD can do this !

Thank you President Trump! I will continue to pray for the peace of Israel as God's word instructs us to do.

2 Years held
What’s the future of Gaza? If everything goes back to how it was on Oct. 7th, then we will likely come back to where we are today.
Blessed are the peacemakers.
