Mike Pence is a friend. The former talk show host turned congressman turned governor turned Vice President of the United States is now looking at a run for the presidency.
I appreciate Erick giving Pence and each of the other candidates a fair shake and agree with most of what he said in regards to Pence's character and principals. If there's no room for Pence in the GOP, then what are we even doing? Still, I don't think Erick addressed the 800 lb gorilla in the room, that Pence has no shot of winning and, by splitting the Not Trump vote, aids Trump's reelection bid. Are these vanity campaigns for personal notoriety that continue despite no chance of winning a la John Kasich or are these sincere efforts to change the direction of the GOP a la Goldwater? It's hard to tell and a lot could change once DeSantis enters and starts campaigning but our assumption should be that Trump is the most likely winner of the primary. Since this isn't a good outcome for the GOP or the country, what are we doing to alter course and elect someone who can win? Unfortunately, we may be looking at a repeat of 2016.
Don’t think this the right for anyone unwilling to ignore the noise of Washington DC and focus on finding solutions to the wedge issues that divide us. Let’s resolve the immigration mess, fix social security, reach a consensus on abortion, gun rights, balanced budget, and turn the other cheek. Do that and you can run and win.
I do really agree that I have a lot of respect for Pence as VP and as a Christian. But I also have to agree with a lot of the comments about what will happen if he runs. He just can not make it this time with the ones running now and in the near future.
Pence seems like a good guy but I don't see him winning. He's just too bland and I can't see him attracting voters that aren't already aligned to his values, although Trump stabbing him in the back after the election would probably help him with the Never Trump crowd.
I think Pence can win. But can he win the nomination? I doubt it. He can definitely separate himself from Trump in the general election. He can obviously point to his role in J6.
I really like Pence. I believe he is a genuinely good man. And he has zero chance of winning. The more there are in the primary, the more likely Trump will be the nominee. That the establishment republicans cannot see that is one of our biggest problems.
Yep, they just keep climbing aboard the clown car ultimately giving Trump just enough of a small majority and handing him a primary win--again. I know that they are bound to understand that this will happen, but they just cannot seem to help themselves. It has to be lust for power blinding them. What else could it be?
I’m making the biggest batch of popcorn I can muster for the debate where Pence is on the same stage with Trump. Just imagine the ad hominems delivered from The Orange One to his right hand man.
Needed in the conversation, yes. But he can't win. He will always be tied to Trump. No matter how he tries to distance himself, that stain is permanent.

All well and good….he is a good man,
However, it would be nice if you cooled your jets a bit on 2020 fraud, and Trump bashing …after Durham and IRS nothing can be ruled out!
Great. Tell your friend to take on Trump directly and forthrightly, you know kinda like Chris Christie is doing. And don’t let up.
Pence running is Trumpian levels of arrogance. Can he even make it to Iowa? Jeb 2.0

I’m die hard Conservative. But folks, let’s face it, there will never be another Republican President. Trump will see to that.
A very good man I could vote for. Just too many ties both good and bad to the Trumper for enough people to vote for.
Thanks Erick. I like Pence also, very much.
NO.ONE.CARES. It's either Trump or DeSantis. And if the Rs want to win, it had better be DeSantis...every candidate that comes in now helps The Beast.

No it factor! Stay home.
