While I read that Moochelle is not interested, why is Barry lining up donors? Why has she suddenly come out of the shadows into the media limelight?

Frankly, I believe the Dems, as ridiculously stupid as they sometimes be, would be so daft as to let Biden continue through to the election. They will slide someone in before the convention in August. I think Newsome's record is too toxic even for the Dems to stomach. Leaving her. She is incredibly full of hate; it oozes out. Her thesis was a rant against whites. But she is also incredibly lazy, so she might enjoy her life of luxury in Barry's arms (!!!) too much to to swap it for a real job. Although Joe Mumbles seems to get along with a 11-4 day's "work." If it did happen, in essence, Bathhouse Barry would become the first 5 term President since Roosevelt.

Remember Erick, some of us out here pay your subscription price because your genuine views on issues often piss both sides off. Keep it up. We don’t pay BECAUSE u piss them all off—we pay because you have genuine opinions that JUST SO HAPPEN to piss them all off sometimes. Thanks.

I’m sorry, but this is definitely one of the most strange articles I’ve read from Erick Erickson. When I finished reading, I just shook my head and thought; that was a waste of time.

“They're charlatans, frauds, hucksters, and grifters. They care about money. “ This describes most politicians and most elites in general. But I would add social status as a pursuit along with money. Did/does Al Gore really believe his global warming dog food he sells? This is all a looting scheme for being popular and acquiring cult followers. Taylor Shift has one of the biggest popular cult following networks. In that respect she is no different than TurningPoint people. They both sell entertainment. But yes, their abundance or lack of integrity doing so is the issue. Morality and professional ethics IS the issue.

I just thought of something to get heads exploding, Taylor Swift for VP.

lol. She can't be any worse than our current VP.

At least she could sing coherently

Harris talks to you as if you are five years old. She would be a vast improvement.

It is a sad commentary on our times that such trash is peddled and given currency. A plague on this. Don’t give it the time of day. That those two are dating is their business-only.

Time for the GOP to again practice the essential art of truth-telling, to drawing reasonable individuals devoted to the common good and conservative principles, and who understand the proper, limited role of government in our society into the party. A strong commitment to liberty and freedom, a vigorous national defense, and safe and secure borders need to be our calling card.

Let’s be real - Taylor Swift’s public support for Biden in 2020 was not a show of love for him and his policies, it was a lethal poke in the eye at Donald Trump. This time around she has a billion more in the bank and way more influence than he does. I hate to see her use it in political arena because it never has a happy ending. Hopefully she’s genius enough to stay out of the fray. Thanks for another well timed reality check Erick.

This is why I subscribe to you Erik. Thank you.

These people are the reason we have Trump in the first place.

That's the first time I've heard the Taylor Swift - Travis Kelce rumor. It's actually funny and well, yes, anyone who believes it is probably a dumbass.

The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has limits.

I have said it more than once, Michelle Obama cares little about the country and while she enjoyed the power of being in the WH, she REALLY loves the $$ which fell their way because of it. Their lives are just too damn good to jump back into the turmoil of the presidency. Can you imagine having to either fix or deal with the international poop-show Biden is creating? The people who told you the seas are catastrophically rising bot a 15 million dollar estate on the beach on an island. They have no honor and could care less about what they do to America. To think she would run to "save" America is a joke.

No-no. While I am certainly not infallable, Erick has it spot on. IMO.

I mostly agree with you and Erick. Why would Michelle Obama give up her lavish lifestyle and popularity? Hubris is the only reason I can come up with, and I'm not sure even her inflated sense of self outweighs her privileged current life.

One scenario I read about is that she picks Newsom for VP and after a year finds an excuse to resign. Harris is promised a Supreme Court seat so she goes away quietly.

Everyone is playing “what if”. We should be worried who Trump picks as VP. He/she has to be a fearless and uncompromising Conservative.

I don’t worry about the talking heads and their predictions. Many predictions have a political motivation.

Lots of ideas our there, Carmine..

Re Trump, however, he better not pick some sycophant butt-kisser. He did OK in Pence, but what serious person wants to be associated with Trump now?

Expand full comment

I can't think of anyone serious who would put him or herself in that position. It was a career-destroyer for Pence.

Me neiuther, EB. Hopefully someone who understands the dire position of the country who will sacrifice themselves..

I actually don't want another good person to be destroyed by Trump. I didn't want Pence to be President, but he was a good man. My sister-in-law worked at the Pentagon during the Trump administration. Her boss was in a Bible study with Pence and said his number one prayer was for Trump to become a Christian.

Me neither, but I would respect and appreciate someone who did so for the good of the country, EB.

Cori Bush under investigation:

Please forgive me if I'm highly cynical in my belief that she will not be punished for anything, even if it is determined that she's guilty.

Back in 2012, I was following the John Edwards corruption case pretty closely. Because he was a Democrat, the case wasn't getting very much media coverage, but it was enough that you could keep track. He faced six felony charges and was looking at a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison.... he was found not guilty on one count, and guilty on the other five.... but then the judge immediately declared mistrials on all the guilty counts, throwing the whole thing out of court. Shortly afterwards, the Justice Department said they were dropping all charges and wouldn't pursue it anymore.

Edwards walked away smirking.

When this thing went to court and guilty rulings came down, I actually did believe that he would be held accountable. But he wasn't. It was just like the same way when Hillary was allowed to get off scot-free, despite the announcement that she actually was guilty (buuut, she didn't mean to do it!). After the Edwards fiasco, I lost all faith in our legal system. After the Hillary fiasco, it became crystal clear that there was a 2-tier justice system in America.... two sets of laws, two sets of rules, two sets of standards, all selectively applied (or not), for political purposes.

My 17-year-old daughter is a fan of Taylor Swift (not a Swiftie), and I like a lot of her music. What Swift lacks in vocal skills, she makes up for in hard work, devotion to her fans, and the ability to write songs that resonate with her listeners. Despite Swift's lefty politics, you never see her drunk or acting like trash, which I appreciate, as a mom. I don't buy any of the Swift-Kelce conspiracies, and it's annoying that virtually every podcaster feels it necessary to discuss them. That's how big of a deal Taylor Swift is. If liking Taylor Swift affects your vote, though, you're an idiot.

I'll admit, I do like her song "Shake It Off".

Most of her best music probably hasn't made it on the radio. I have an eclectic taste in music, but Taylor Swift is well-represented in my playlists, everything from "punching bag" to "yoga"! Even the headmaster at my daughter's Classical Christian School, who is not a fan of Swift, called her "the poet of this generation."

I wouldn't know a Taylor Swift song if I heard it, and probably would not recognize a photo (I have not watched TV in 20 years). If you think I don't keep up with pop culture, my wife explained the Kardashians to me yesterday. I had assumed there were only 2 and never looked any further. I still don't know what they do........nor care.
