Mark Levin said that a multitude watched on Fox News. I don't have cable; spent that time working around the house and getting ready for the Lord's Day. My church, even on Livestream and Zoom, is better for me than American politics right now.
No doubt we should mourn for our "national sins and corruption," but I can't resist poking fun. Both candidates of the major political parties will surpass Ronald Reagan as the oldest serving President, should they complete their term of office. Perhaps we should cede our country back to Queen Elizabeth II. She is age 94!
Trump's campaign staff certainly was embarrassed by leftist tricksters buying a million tickets, so they won that battle by deceit, which is the only way leftists win any battle. MSNBC did report that leftist protesters blocked the entrance gates at times, but that was probably only a minor annoyance. But Trump's rally set a record of 8 million viewers for Fox's Saturday night time slot, so it is hardly a crushing victory for leftists trying to shut down a Trump rally. And that doesn't count the millions of people who watched the rally on-line and/or clips of the rally since then. The truth is that the vast majority of people who go to a Trump rally are probably going to vote for Trump anyway. Any further leftist obstruction of Trump rallies is only likely the harden the resolve of people who would like to attend a Trump rally, and it is not likely to encourage them to switch their votes to Biden.
Excellent points -- especially that there was no cap. I'm sure virus fears had a lot to do with it, but why didn't the campaign just pivot and socially distance everyone who made it there? I guess because the jokes about wearing masks etc made it into the press, and vulnerable people didn't want to be around people not taking precautions. Sigh.
Guess the million + of various media viewers that vicariously participated in the rally, like myself, don’t count in the event success. In today’s technological world, a live event audience is a very small measure of status.

The problem is that Trump fires the people who say things he doesn’t want to hear.
This isn’t on his staff, it’s on Trump for hiring and keeping head-nodders who say agreeable words to him.
