I am so done with 45. His abrasive and bullying approach to leadership is more divisive than unifying. The conservatives in this country can surely do better. And dynastic leaders are equally problematic. There has to be someone out there who can lead conservatism without being an embarrassment.

You really buried the lede in not discussing WHY Liz Cheney has suddenly become toxic when the same leadership backed her a few months ago. You can use your canine-sex metaphor all you want but I'd look at what she actually said.

"Anyone who claims it was is spreading THE BIG LIE.."

Anybody with a sense of history understands the implication of that phrasing. Calling a significant portion of your party not just wrong but akin to Nazis is not the way to win friends and influence anybody. There's no reason someone in a GOP leadership position should carry the Democrat's water. You don't have to believe the election was stolen to recognize that the Democrats are acting like it was, and that 3030 election procedures were changed in ways that benefit fraud.

70 plus million people voted for Trump. He enjoyed high approval ratings among Republicans throughout his Presidency. Making virulent anti-Trumpism a litmus test for party membership is pretty much a guarantee for losing.

And if that last point is the case, then it will be why I will continue to be hesitant to vote for GOP candidates at the federal level, and with limited exceptions at the state-level.

Mr Erickson, many kudos!

One exception: please find a more intelligent and appropriate ‘word picture’ to make your point instead of the over use of “leg humping.”

You can be a master with words without using something so nasty and cheap!

I do pray for you to be wise and also I have prayed for your wife’s sustaining health when God brings her to my prayer time. 🙏🏻

It is really very disconcerting to read that you think the greatest fraud ever perpetrated on the American people is "nonsense" and a "lie."

I am from Michigan and was very close to the fraud.

1-Where were you when a van showed up at the vote counting center in Wayne County/Detroit when a van showed up at 4:30 am and disgourged boxes of so called "mail in" ballots totalling 120,000 ALL for Biden. 100% for Biden. Does that sound right to you?

2-Where were you when Republican pole watchers in Wayne County MI found Dominion voting machines connected to the internet. A clear violation of FEC rules.

3-Where were you when Democrat election officials in Detroit and Philadelphia kicked the Republican poll workers out of the count centers and covered the windows to prevent anyone from seeing what was going on inside.

4-Where were you when 150,000 "mail in" ballots were received in Philadelphia with only the presidential line filled out. What HONEST voter only filled in the presidential line. And this happened 150,000 times.

5-If Dominion is so innocent, why are they suing every person who utters their name in what they perceive the wrong way. If Dominion is so innocent then why did they send 70 lawyers to Arizona to shut down the vote audit. If they are so innocent, why all the noise?

If you support Liz Cheney and think there was no vote fraud and that some schill like Biden would really get over 80M votes, then you are just a Deep State fool.

I am an election judge and know the laws. Your statements raise a number of questions.

Re #1 Did whoever claimed this look at every ballot to ascertain that they were all for Biden?

Do ou know if these ballots were counted?

Re #2 How would the poll watchers know that the voting machines were connected to the internet? How do you know that they were not connected to county election headquarters so that they can monitor if a person is trying to vote two times? Does the state have vote centers, or are voters assigned to specific locations to vote?

Re #3 Have you studied the laws re who can watch vote counts? Poll watchers watch at the polling locations. Poll workers are the ones who work as judges, alternate judges, and election clerks.

Re #4 Did whoever said this see all 150,000 ballots? According to our county chair, we had lots of voters who only voted in that race.

Re #5 Perhaps because the lies spread about Dominion is ruining their business.

Everything I said is documented. The poll watchers had IT people who knew what was going on and that the machines wetre connected to the internet. The ballot numbers vere andvstatus was verified by Democrats. Dominion is just as fraudulent as this election. And then, why do 70 Dominion lawyers try to shut down the Arizona audit. You really should actually try to do some real research and stopped being duped by liars and frauds. The information and data are tgere, you just need to stop covering it up.

Did the IT people have the permits to examine the machines? Who signed the paperwork for the poll watchers? Stating something is true does not make it so. So every ballot of the 150,000 was examined? You also did not address all the questions that I raised? What special expertise do you have that you know what these folks are saying is true?

I get annoyed with the GOP establishment as much as does many a conservative. And Liz Chaney is very much a member of that establishment. However, it is clear that in this case, she is spot on in what she is saying about the possibility that the fixation on Donald Trump may well cost the party the excellent chance it has to short circuit the woke leftist agenda by gaining control of both houses of Congress.

Additionally, if the Trump leg humpers cost the Republicans that chance, we’ll all know who to blame for the disaster which will ensue. If we must have this debate, and I think we do not, let’s all take aim at the immediate and vital goal of putting Comrade Pelosi and UpChuck Schumer out of their positions first.

Trump isn't President anymore. Biden is so we have to deal with him.

We need term limits to remove the dead wood that just looks to the new election as their meal ticket. Let them go back home and suffer like the rest of us.

She doesn't represent my state so I am not going to comment on her. I live in New Jermany and senators and most representatives are horrible.

Would she have been elected if her name was Smith? Having a family tradition of service to the government is fine but how have the Kennedys and other families helped us?

I agree. Cheney needs to quit talking about Trump and focus on the conservative principles that bring reasonable Republicans together.

Has she been talking about Trump? Trump is a little boy in a man's body which means that he should accept that he lost.

I think despising Trump is huge waste of energy for conservatives. Totally understand why people don’t care for him, but willingly blinding yourself to what he accomplished in four years to focus on his negatives is just giving energy to the democrats.

I voted for Trump twice. Given the choices of Clinton and Biden, it was the only choice. Look at what Biden’s being used for to do to our nation to create the utopia progressives crave. But, I’m no ‘Trump follower’, or Trumpist, or whatever. I honestly don’t want him to run again, but to gain some humility, and come alongside Republicans and help them continue the gains they made in 2020 with minority voters. He made those gains because conservative policies rely on logic and fundamental truths, not feelings. Most people of all races know this to their core, whether they will admit it or not.

Ok, my attempt at maybe a perfect President: 45% Ronald Reagan’s happy conservative warrior, 35% Newt Gingrich’s intellect and historical knowledge, and maybe 20% Trump’s sheer hutzpah and lack of fear of democrats. Anyone supporting 100% of everything Trump says is not using their mind. But conservatives trashing him endlessly are losing sight, I believe, of what Trump harnessed in the Republican party; standing up to the constant barrage of the left against our founding principles.

Although it breaks my heart, I, too, feel that I can no longer identify with the Republican Party. I have been a Republican since before many of these people who object to Liz Cheney were even born. How can so many people believe Trump’s lies? He has cost us two Senate seats in Georgia and is determined to ensure that Stacey Abrams will be our next governor. Thank you, Erick, for having the courage to tell the truth—just as Liz Cheney has done.

Yes.There are still people in the Republican Party with some level of integrity and respect for the truth. Not many but some, like Liz Cheney. And my Congressman, Dan Newhouse. The Trump cult is out to burn him down too, because he's a man of integrity and because of his vote to impeach the traitor who inspired the mob on Jan. 6. Newhouse is actually a real conservative who took a vote of conscience. Unlike Trump, who is not and never has been a conservative (He is a Trumpist.)

Trump's lies have already cost us the Senate, the leg-humpers and Cult members will not stop until anyone with any common decency and respect for the rule of law is trampled and run out of what used to be the Party of Reagan. Shameful.

Even if we win in 2022, there is a moral cost to this insane idol worship of this one man, the loser of the 2020 Presidential election. The election wasn't stolen. Trump lost.

Truth can be inconvenient, terrifying and self-immolating, but it's still the truth. I deeply admire a principled stand, especially if that stand endangers the one making it. It's sorely missing in American politics, and maybe it always has been. But a younger me seems to remember Ronald Reagan being one of those who typically did what he thought was right, not what was politically expedient. If Liz Cheney is willing to risk her political future, or at the very least her current political clout for the sake of the truth, her stock just went up in my book. Thanks for highlighting her, Erick.
