1) We should not be terminating federal employees in a manner inconsistent with RIF terminations in the private sector. To do otherwise is either cruel and abusive, or featherbedding/platinum parachutes.
2) We should be careful to avoid the perennial issue with government "shutdowns" whereby agencies inflict maximum pain and inconvenience on the public for political gain.
3) We don't actually cut that much from the budget despite the whirlwind of activity.
I've lost jobs in the private sector. It sucks, but federal employees shouldn't somehow feel exempt from changing economic conditions. My sympathy will run out fast if they feel entitled.
Congress will have to act at some point. I would have preferred a more measured approach like BRAC, but good luck getting that through.
Do you have any evidence that these were not McCormick's constituents, other than spin from the Congressman and/or his staff? And btw this is a Congressman who cheated on his wife. How do we know he's telling the truth to you?
So, the message here is worry about the politics as ginned up by the media proven to be dishonest and a propaganda arm of the Democrats and thus stop doing the right things for the county. In other words, pull back because of the (likely artificial) media story of protests over people getting unnecessary payments from big government being cut off.
The people in those townhalls were likely Democrat operatives paid for by dark money flowing through agencies like USAID to NGOs. The "journalists" reporting it are likely directed by their bosses getting some of that same dark government money.
The US spends $7 trillion per year and takes in $5 trillion per year. The Legislature is a mess of corruption feeding off the same dark money... otherwise how do you explain Elizabeth Warren's and AOC's wealth accumulation while in office... for example.
GOP Never-Trumpers lambasted Trump for his overspending during his first term (ignoring that COVID spending was the primary culprit) and now they are lambasting him for cutting spending.
Which leads to the conclusion that Never-Trumpers are irrelevant and unneeded just like so many unneeded, unproductive, working from home, but not really working, federal government employees.
Imagine this scenario: Your family owns a department store. The weekly reports that you’re getting from the manager don’t add up. You believe that there’s theft and fraud going on. So, you hire an auditor to go to the store and review the accounting, inventory, etc.. And the manager who works for you suddenly freaks out and tells you that no one is allowed to access that system or those records.. They even block your auditor from entering the building. The local Labor Board, which is not in your employ and has nothing to do with your business, sides with your manager and tells you that you have no access. Now… As the department store owner, what would be the proper course of action that you are legally entitled to take?
$My Money Where? - inflation has caused a lot of us to cut back on spending. it is time the Govt. cuts back also quit WASTING" Our money that they Take
I would like to get every democratic senator and congressman and woman to sit in front of the American people and ask them line by line of every ridículous expenditure that Doge has found so far,
if they agree with it, yes or no. They need to be on record that they are ok with all the waste, abuse, and fraud. Then ask 37trillion in debt are you ok with that? We are not the government's slush fund .
This is a replay from 2017 and other times when the liberal/progressive shouters and demonstrators show up for a GOP Congressman’s District meeting. All orchestrated, phony, and designed to cater to the media which wants nothing more than to a mouthpiece for the malcontents.
Republicans: show up at these town hall meetings and shout them down and remove them. Most aren’t often voters in the particular district and it wouldn’t be surprising if some weren’t paid.
We need Congress to pass a stringent budget and enact into law the reductions and eliminations being sought by President Trump.
- I often wondered how government spending and fraud(there is a of fraud) could be addressed and actually happen. DOGE is certainly a way to attack the issue. I worked in a manufacturing world and this type spending/ cost control approach was a way of life.
It is painful and sometimes results in mistakes , but it can be highly effective. Most of these agencies have never seen this type work in action…..classic consultant work!
-success for this administration will still come down to results. Inflation control, war control efforts, and the overall economy.
The border is shaping up well….no one coming in and some level of deportation.
The worker / skill balance is an issue looming !
Stay focused, drive results , and get those egg prices down😊!
Every day the MSM do something that demonstrate they are no more than cheerleaders for the left. They do not care about middle America. They do not care about the average working American family. They do not have our interest a heart. The MSM is a mouthpiece for the progressive left which seeks to tear down America, destroy the Constitution , silence Americans so the political elites can ruin the country.
The whining and crying over efforts to get rid of waste, fraud and abuse and downsize a clearly bloated government will just turn more people against the Democrats.
Republicans shouldn't panic, but at the same time, stop congratulating themselves over all this winning and get down to the brass tacks of codifying all this winning. Failure there WILL be cause for panic.
The last thing the GOP needs is a failure like the Falcons playing the Pats in the Superb Owl.
My concerns with DOGE are as follows:
1) We should not be terminating federal employees in a manner inconsistent with RIF terminations in the private sector. To do otherwise is either cruel and abusive, or featherbedding/platinum parachutes.
2) We should be careful to avoid the perennial issue with government "shutdowns" whereby agencies inflict maximum pain and inconvenience on the public for political gain.

And ask the IRS if every senator and congressman is current on their paid taxes.
And it can only be a yes or no response from them.

Love your analysis.
An Astro-turfed town hall, in an effort to generate propaganda, color me surprised
A couple of thoughts….

Spot-on, brother!
