Republicans Knew About Mark Robinson Before the General Election

Mark Robinson can drop out of the North Carolina gubernatorial race until midnight tonight.

He says he will not.

His supporters will say the allegations about trans-porn, Hitler obsessions, and peeing in women’s locker rooms are either made up or old news. They are old news, but that won’t matter to a lot of voters.

Robinson is already losing the race. The GOP, if he drops out, has a chance to reset like the Democrats. But Robinson’s supporters will circle the wagon and Robinson will refuse to leave. He has nothing else.

Here’s the thing.

Last year, at the Gathering, I endorsed Mark Walker for Governor of North Carolina. Several consultants told me there were lots of bad things that would come out about Robinson including “weird online sex stuff” or something like that.

I knew the rumors. I did not know the substance. It could have been idle gossip. But it appears now, before the primary, there was a real hint of something that Republicans knew. On top of that, it became clear Trump was going to endorse Robinson and the consultants in North Carolina did not think old “weird online sex stuff” would stop the Trump endorsement.

So they went into do no harm mode and kept their mouths shut.

Hitler fetishes and trans porn fetishes with online accounts that could be linked to Lt. Governor Reverend Robinson were bound to come out.

What’s more are the financial allegations that will come out. Democrats are dropping the old weird online sex stuff now. They’ll go to the much more recent financial scandals once we get through tomorrow. Robinson and his wife are tied to a group North Carolina shut down for receiving federal funds not spent on their intended purpose. Allegedly the IRS is involved in looking at the situation right now. The Girl Scouts will come back up too.

MAGA types are on social media blasting me, claiming I should have said something. All I had were the rumors and we all know that had I said anything they’d have said it was because I endorsed Mark Walker or because I’m NeverTrump.

But MAGA chose to go with Mark Robinson, a minister who had a weird kinky fetish history online and is among the walking dead of candidates now.

The drip, drip, drip of scandal is now going to continue because Robinson will not step aside by midnight. He will lose. He is ten points behind the Democrat in the polls right now.

The question now is, with the drip, drip, drip of scandal, does Robinson’s baggage have other ballot ramifications and open a path for Kamala Harris and the state’s 16 electoral college votes?
