I have a 2019 truck, and my biggest problem with it is there is no CD player.
I spent a good bit of time over the years assembling a music library, but nowadays everything is digital, and it isn’t as easy to rip music as it once was.
I guess younger people are OK with this and I’m just old, but I prefer owning a physical copy of my music just like my books.
I'm surprised at your position on this issue. "Regulatory relief" is Progressive-speak for "government control." If you don't want to pay for satellite radio in your car, then don't pay for it. Get yourself a portable AM/FM radio. You can get one rated 4.6 stars on Amazon for $29, or if that's too pricey for you, one rated 4.2 stars for $11. Or if Amazon is too liberal, you can get one at Lowe's. :-)
Baby steps, Erick. Baby steps. Let's get them to have a spine first. Then we'll pony up for the pipe dream that is Republicans listening to Conservative voices.
Sounds like more of the WEF “you will own nothing and enjoy it” nonsense. How much easier to add a layer of social credit into the mix, and the “nudges” toward better behavior favored by the Obama crew. This won’t end well.
Back in 1995 Software Development corps began to license software with annual support fees, moving away from the purchase model. Today most of the software that runs Ford is leased, not owned. Brick & Mortar are just now figuring out how to transition to this model. Makes me nostalgic for my old pioneer 8 track deck with my worn-out copy of Stairway to Heaven.
Virtually all content on all platforms is pay-per-view (even THIS blog charges a massive $7 / month!). Ten bucks a month gets a sub to Sirius/XM in car and on the PC. The loss of crackly, fade-y AM and, for that matter, FM receivers in cars is, to me, no big deal.
And because of that $7 a month no one can cancel Erick but us. I'm fine with it. That's one trip to the Overpriced Coffee Bar per month. Yeah. I'm good with that.

Thank you, Mr. Erickson, for explaining this issue to us. Good information, as usual.

But they won’t

I am done with most subscriptions. Unless I “need” something I am discontinuing these expenses.

Mr. Erickson is well worth the payment of $7.00 per month.

Nothing surprises me these days!
Of course there many simular issues which are impossible to keep up with then it becomes a reality. So much negative energy out there. God Help Us 🙏
