Kudos to all of your comments except for the possibility of an implied endorsement of Trump’s choice for SecDef. Accusations of “He Said, She Said” aside, the real issue, and one on which Republican senators should concentrate, is that nothing in Hegseth’s resume or portfolio of experience makes him even remotely qualified for the job of leading this enormous department with it’s enormous share of the federal budget. ZERO. Tens of thousands of officers have hus combat experience and are also not qualified merely because of it. Do not take my opinion for it, as a retired senior USAF officer of 31 years’ experience—ask any General Officer or retired SecDef among your friends and receive the same terrifying assessment. Please come out against this appointment and give Republican senators some cover. Does the DoD need some disruption and a course correction which reduces DEI initiatives in favor of combat edge, YES. But get someone qualified who can also provide that rudder input.
What it needs is a leader to inspire the troops, set the direction, are you saying that there is no one available to him to assist, guide, manage the huge dept? You act like he will be running every detail himself. Over the years these “qualified” SecD have become tools for the left. A new vision & pride is needed to motivate such a large organization. He brings that. If they support and assist as they should and get back to true job that can only be a good thing. It is the young who need to sign up to serve!
I noticed the rushing of the oath and was a bit annoyed (IMO Roberts and Trump share some blame for it) as Trump's family were seen in the background trying to get around him as JD's family did at his swearing in, but it's not anything really important or particularly newsworthy.
The best was Fox News when they showed the hypocrisy of the situation by showing pics of musk next to at least a dozen Dems who did the same exact move yet were not called nazis.
Elon is no saint but come on now. The way the media is reporting (and they are still this very hour talking about it on MSDNC.) it’s despicable at this point.
And just like election night. MSNBC and CNN’s ratings went up because people wanted to see the meltdowns. And they were not disappointed.
'Hope you reporters had a great vacation and are lubed up well so the DNC can muppet you.' Bahahahaha! So true! I hope Pete sues the ex-sister in law.....
I actually thought some of these people might change but they seem to be more rabid than ever and now they also hate the American people. Not that they didn’t before but they are now actively blaming the minions for putting this monster (according to them) back into office.
I think Americans that want a better press need to push our new administration to strategically elevate members of news organizations interested in telling the truth, and 'shadow ban' news organizations, and specific reporters that trade in lies. For instance, offer Bari Weiss of the Free Press an exclusive interview with the administration, offer Matt Taibbi, of Racket News, a front row seat at press conferences, etc. We need to help legacy media crumble as quickly as possible. Quick successes by the new administration will go a long way to discrediting the DNC captured media.
Interesting. Who or whom in the current DC corp-gov/media establishment is threatened by Hegseth? Especially given the usage of such a sophomoric tactic common amongst high school mean girls?
The press are little more than the head mean girl’s flock of cackling hens and synchopants.
Of course, if we had a real press and they did their jobs, they would be asking all sorts of inconvenient questions of certain families formerly in power.
The sister-in-law who accused Pete Hegseth of spousal abuse was the ex wife of his brother and not the sister of his ex wife. An even bigger stretch as to her credibility and further evidence of Hegseth getting Kavanaughed.
Boring today.
Spot on Erick
Boring sums it up nicely
I have a dream that some day the Press Corps will be a corpse replaced by real journalists.

Seeing the usual suspects on social media make all kinds of hay about the "Nazi salute".
You can't reason people out of a position that they didn't reason themselves into.

The only difference in the Same Old, is that some of the American people have wised up to the silly game that the mainstream news is playing.
^ this.
Exactly 10 points of stars for you.
I didn’t believe it so until election night. It is clear people have wised up to these issues.
Defund PBS.
I actually like this idea - especially the news portion of this corrupt organization. And probably the rest of the groomers that work there too.

Free Press is awesome!

Reminds me of that scene in spaceballs.
“ I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate...”
which makes us absolutely nothing.
