Agreed…it’s an easy trade for me also. The end of Roe v. Wade is worth the disappointment in not winning the upper chamber.

Agree about McConnell. Don't like him and don't believe he really cares much about conservative causes. But delivering policy wins is how he keeps his job, and he's been good at it.

Mitch: “hey Rick, how about you run against me for minority leader, after all, you’re the 2nd biggest reason we’re still the minority. It’ll confuse the peasants and guarantee status quo”

Rick: “great idea”

A worthy trade indeed....!

I, too am fine with losing the senate in exchange for getting Roe overturned. Nor do I specifically blame McConnell for the losses. However, calling these candidates "shit sandwiches" is rather absurd. I don't know precisely who was supposed to be so horrible or why they were supposed to be so bad, but when they were attacked by our own side, well, along with the very suspect election processes in some states, how could they get elected. Maybe if people on our side would refrain from disparaging our own candidates, we might fare better. Having listened to many, if not most of them, I fail to see that they were the abominations you indicate they were.

I am with you Kathy in calling people by the names that were used here in this article. These are grade school kid ways when they just learned to say things like that. NOT the best. If we are Christians, we need to show it. Blessings for bring this out the way you did.

The dems aree blaming everythingon resident Trump now the Republicans are too, time to get some new excuses

It’s probably close to time for McConnell to retire—and he may start thinking about that when he takes the record for longest-serving party leader early next year.

With that being said, forcing him out (especially in the middle of a Georgia runoff) would be a massive gift to Dems.

The party needs to have a real, drawn-out conversation about how to replace him—not just default to a Presidential hopeful who oversaw a uniquely disappointing cycle for the NRSC.

Maybe someone other than McConnel or Scott we need a Fighter and a leader and some youth

Maybe it’s not a good time to get rid of Trump. These elections are close. Maybe the difference is people like you. You can’t say old people are bad and leave Mitch out and then try to defend it with this nonsense. There are millions of people that believe Trump has been the only politician that has done what he said he would do in their lifetime. Maybe a smart pundit like yourself would recognize and work to make the best of it instead of disparaging only certain old people. Mitch is a much bigger black eye for the country than Trump.

Trump may have kept his promises, and I supported him, but his position after the 2nd election is untenable. Something pushed him too far. I dread the thought of his running again.

Erick,

Now that mid-terms are ALMOST over please point out and SHARE with the public some of the truly horrifying executive actions this administration is taking. Start with Biden's push to research and develop a digital currency that can be tracked and controlled by the government. The end of cash as we know it. Thanks.

Erick, I agree that it is time for McConnell to go, but I prefer a true conservative to take the helm and I am not sure Rick Scott is that conservative versus just opportunistic. I would desperately like for Herschel to be elected as Senator from Georgia, and we are being bombarded with requests for money. If you could give some guidance on Which group to give our money to, it would be appreciated. I want my money, all of it, to go to Walker's campaign needs not some fuzzy unknown Republican slush fund.

Also, I am not surprised at 45 announcing his run for President last night, but I am so tired of the theater that surrounds him in everything he does.

PS. I am a boomer, and I guess you would vote for Noah to have retired and not taken on the challenge of the Ark and Flood. Just kidding, but age is not the factor I judge by, but competence and right thinking.

So it is time to move on from Trump because the GOP needs to move on, but McConnell, the old establishment fossil, should remain? Mitch is 80. He certainly still has his cognitive functions intact, but come on man. He has held the gig since 1985. Rick Scott is 70, but he was the governor of the great state of Florida and a successful business owner. McConnell is a career politician.

The GOP lost the Senate yet again. Now we have to listen to Chuck Schumer and the Democrats crow about their mandate. McConnell has done great things for the GOP, but he owns responsibility for the mess of 2020 and 2022. It is time for change in the GOP.

When you put it that way, it all begins to make sense. Thanks for playing chess better than most.

Very complicated factually. I can't dispute it. It appears that you have reconciled, for now, in your mind at least, not having a Republican U. S. Senator from Georgia, in exchange for overturning Roe v Wade. It will be interesting to see how the states handle the abortion issue. I love federalism in action!

Back at the ranch, I hear from Focus on the Family that the mis-named Respect for Marriage Act may be up for a vote today or soon. I contacted Ossoff and Warnock and asked them to vote NO. This is when I wish we had a conservative U. S. Senator from Georgia,

Absolutely right! Fought thru all the garbage to keep Garland out and get 3 conservative judges in. I'm good with that!!

You are the only voice I trust to see both sides and call it according to facts and not political affiliation. Very few places for us independents to go to get the truth unspoiled by tribalism.

Erick F., as you are an independent, might you be encouraged to vote for Herschel (if you live in GA)? Schumer is claiming the Democrats have a mandate, which is disingenuous, to put it nicely. Would not having a smidge of balance in the Senate be worth while? I get it, Walker’s not perfect, Warnock sounds, perhaps more polished, conjugates verbs correctly, smiles nicely, and will vote every time to push a far-left agenda. Would you and possibly other independents, vote to let Mr. Schumer know that he has no mandate?
